"Fridays" was a short lived TV show that aired on ABC-TV from April 1980 until April 1982. It was supposed to be a competitor to "Saturday Night Live", and at this time frame, I thought it was actually a better show.
It was eventually canceled as the idiots in management at ABC-TV kept moving it's time slot around. There have never been any DVD's offered of these shows as cast member Michael Richards (later in Seinfeld) has not signed off on any official releases. A shame.
This is "The Nuge" circa the "Scream Dream" album, which was a very successful album here in the States. Thanks to my old Betamax for preserving this gem.
Just remember that this is 1980 analog technology, so don't be expecting today's incredible digital resolution and edits. It looks great for the time frame. Enjoy!

Ted’s my first concert in 1979. His drummer rocks.
Same here 1979 in Houston Texas at the University of Houston football stadium with a brand new band I never heard of called Foreigner I was in junior high and the first time I ever smelled marijuana
THE BEST rocker of ALL time period Kids don’t even know what an air guitar is these days. I never learned a real guitar but I think I can hang with anybody on the air guitar. So much fun. Thanks Ted.
I seen ted. He brings it. No bull hsit. Just loud rock n roll. Unbelievable loud rock and roll.
You have seen Ted. You need to use have to make the past participle in English.
@@pumasgoya Americans are actually cool, so no, we don't need to act like pussies, thanks but no thanks, Weenieboy.
Motor City Madman!!! HELL YEAH! Saw him in '82 with Aerosmith @ Coney Island Cincinnati, trippin' on AC! Great Show!!!!👍👍👍🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷
Cliff Davies will be ALWAYS be my ALL-TIME FAVORITE drummer, & favorite LUDWIG kit!
Great stuff. This kind of music really made my youth a lot more awesome.
Great all around, and the drummer really rocks tight.
Ted was one of my junior high/high school music heroes. He was and still is awesome! Wahi' Valleys
Same junior high and beyond
Here i am, 56 yrs old and it still gets my heart pumping and my blood flowing. Makes me want to crabk it up to 11 and blow my speakers and ears out!
Same here at 58 years
No channel today would have the balls to air a live Ted Nugent performance.
Yeah baby the great Gonzo what a great finish
I remember the show, it was good and the plasmatics were on as well- ted is super bad ass
Charlie Huhn!!! Laying down the vocals and guitar for Foghat now!!!
That was a tight version of that song!!...Loved it!...
Love him or hate him he can play some guitar

Charlie done some great vocals for Ted, when Ted got Pissy at times with St. Holmes.
I know I'm losing you by the faces
This is why I still use Fender Amps.
I had a Radio only copy of Double Live Gonzo and played the shit out of it !!!!!!
Wonderful performance by the band. And I gotta say, at first I didn't think that was Cliff Davies on the drums. He looked a little different.
Hell YEAH!!!
So killer
Go ahead Ted!!
0:55..*_Charming_*....

Cliff could bounce drum sticks off symbols & Drum heads with presition into the crowd !
Never seen Cliff do that but did see Cozy Powell do it on his drum solos .

riffs my ass. the baddest fkn geetar you will ever hear or see.
I believe this was from "Fridays"which was a show that was to compete with Saturday Night Live. Michael Richards (Kramer) was in it and the show was actually pretty funny. Had some great musical guests. I believe it ran for two seasons...
I believe that Nugent 'jumped the shark' after he fired lead singer Derek St. Holmes. "Weekend Warriors" was his last album with the Nug. Also remember when Meat Loaf sang on some songs on "Free For All" - ahhhh the good ole days
It was Charlie Huhn, as seen in here in this video, not Derek St. Holmes on Weekend Warriors.
Charlie Huhn played with Ted from 1978-1982, doing 5 albums.. Weekend Warriors, State of Shock, Scream Dream, Intensity in 10 Cities, and Live at the Hammersmith "79. Huhn's been with Foghat for the past 20 years, doing thousands of shows and several recordings with them.
TED come up to Canada for some shows we won't bite.
It's Charlie Huhn, not Derek ST Holmes.
Charlie and Meat were both better than Derek imo
TEN! FINGERS!! OF!!! DOOM!!!!
Fkin Ted yes!
this is a song
bass ass dude been jamming on him since 12 yrs old
Nobody does it better than sweaty Teddy
Right hand fury
Ted Nugent linked me here
Michigan Rock n roll
my friends and I watched this when it was originally broadcast . Wasn't the name of the show Fridays ?? We all partied pretty hard most of the day just to get prepared for the show . My mom sent me to a psychologist at the time because " all he ever thinks about is Ted Nugent " . I thought of other stuff but didn't share the info with her . I swear I'm still seeing things from his scream dream tour , which was somewhere around this same time . I think this broadcast was trying to compete with midnight special , but I don't recall the show being on very long ??/ Who knows , it was the 80's starting to happen . Wild times .
I think FRIDAYS only ran 1 year....maybe 2 at the most.
I used to think Melanie Chartoff was HOT!! LOL
jsdspif3 Hell yea.. Scream Dream tour with Blackfoot! That was 1980 I believe. My ears rang for two days after that show. I drank two quarts of warm Tango ( remember Tango?} before the show. Puked all over the sidewalk just before we went into the Boston Garden. Great memories.
One could argue that Fridays was actually better than SNL at the time. Larry David was also part of the cast

Woooo Hoooo! Ted Nugent was Hotttttt
This was during Ted's designer jean wearing period.
Ted has always had great partners in crime. Ted is still the same today. Check him out on RUclips. Spirtwild baby.
Fuckin' Ted!!!!
wish I could see what guitar that guy on the left is playing.
Looks like a Hamer Standard... :)
Gibson Explorer
Just a little fill at 1:19
hay there M.F,s Wake Up !
rock on blood brother
Dave Kiswiney reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parker in this clip. LOL
Sure does
yeah he's cringe alright, looks like a chick with a hairy chest.....
Teds Riffs note for note were generally unremarkable. Where Ted shined was with his tone and ability to eek out blazing feedback at the drop of a hat and get damn creative with it. Great Guitar Player, full stop~
Anybody who knows music will say the same. I wish I could play like Nugent, but I also recognize his lack of originality. His success has been in his unflagging charisma. Even when the rest of the civilized world tells him, "Buddy. You're a douchebag. Shut up." He keeps on. You kind of wonder why.
ted lost his band and his ego went out of control. this was his downfall. he lost Derek and rob and it was never as good. ted was chasing the money after DLG.......the songs on cat scratch compared to the albums after, were not even close. Ted gave audiences what they wanted = a high energy show, with songs that were what the audience wanted. His athletic style on stage was unmatched and the grooves with the energy given from them.....ted was the highest grossing act on tour for at least those 3 years......and there is a reason why. KISS was a comic book band.....ted was a kickass high energy band. Before weekend warriors, ted was on top......but that is when he lost his band and it became all about ted....that was his downfall. weekend warriors was a joke, state of shock was horrible.....ted made a close to his older days album with wango tango....intencities in 10 cities was very avg. and then nothing.......but crap. Ted was done, never recapturing what he had with Derek and rob.....ted blew it. But at that time, ted was blowin everyone away with his shows, everyone wanted to see ted live.
He also has one of the best right hands in the business.
@@blite13 guess you have never heard of the damn Yankees. Plus Ted still sells out shows to this day, making more money than you and I .
How come Ted Nugents drummers always have short hair
is this "Fridays"?
Yes
Jeans and a T-shirt. A single kick drummer with short hair. Not too concerned about image. Just bring on the rawk.
Yes, no tattoos, no piercings, no poser attitude. And that drummer is Mr. Cliff Davies!
@@MickDunne100 What I meant was most hard rock or heavy metal drummers had long hair and/or double bass drums. You do realize this is 1980? Nobody had tattoos or piercings back then. Bon Scott of AC/DC was pretty much the only exception with two tattoos although he croaked earlier that year.
Before Metallica there was...
Chewing gum like a speed freak; both Ted and Cliff...interesting...
It helps keep your mouth from getting too dry when you sing.
its hard to be a cowboy in a Tarzan outfit
Ted Shredding....that's the 💩
No wonder he's deaf in one ear now...
lol

baddest geetar player ever.
god damnnnnnnnnnnnn
thats guitar playing 101 folks
Hot damn
and who says Ted stinks??
That's cuz he's the 💩
It's Derek St. Holmes, Ted's lead singer and rhythm guitatist of many years,
Its Charlie Huhn
No its not
I mean it's not Derek St Holmes
Nope
