Nugent's guitar playing just kicked my ass. Awesome.
Here i am, 56 yrs old and it still gets my heart pumping and my blood flowing. Makes me want to crabk it up to 11 and blow my speakers and ears out!
He is extreme in concert. Great live show!
Very lively which = entertaining. I've seen some boring shows. But never a dull moment with Ted.
Saw in 1981 or 82.
Great show and LOUD!
Ted Nugent is not only one of the best guitarists of the 70s rock era but had 11 top 100 hits (most of those big hits he wrote)...and a bunch of triple-platinum, double-platinum, platinum and gold records in the US and Canada. He was THE top-grossing live act in the nation, 1977 thru 1979!
could you imagine him playing in Lynyrd Skynyrd ?
For me, not really...Though they have toured together it's two different genres: Nugent's pounding heavy metal and Skynyrd's southern rock. Both awesome though.
No.
that amazing stat needs some back=up= only fair. great drummer staying ahead of him. zero voice- nada
@@S0lidState different style. Southern rock.
What a rock and roll god. Nothing more to say.
Just played this on my ole turn table today.......had to blow a little dust off the record,......... still sounds great as ever,.... one of the best albums,he put out............ still rocks 🤘2021.
We all love you ted
anyone who doubts Uncle Ted's ability merely has to listen
His singing isn’t good, I don’t think he actually sang most songs on his album.
They are liberals who wish they could be him lol
@@bluwngI think he got singers for some of his big hits but sung himself on others. That being said, he can’t really sing and play at the same time. His solos are good though
Fabulous guitar player ! Never Honoured enough in my opinion! dx
Mr. Theodore "The Hunter" Anthony Nugent
Teds playing is to the point, yet in your face,a great player to learn from
Ted sure is a player...guy has some licks. One of the greats...love the tail piece of that Gibson.
Im a total lib, but I love the Nuge. there's nothing phony about him, means what he says says what he means. gotta respect that.
They don't make guitar music like this any more!!
great player who was doing this as early as the 60s. lots of bandsused his ideas
Ted put on great shows in those days.I’m sure he still can this for Ted.baaaaraack
Ted Nugent is the best guitar hero ever
please listen to the who live at leeds or "zoot allures" zappa album..
He’s definitely up there in that mix
@@frankzappaspussy7362 Who was always a laughing stock of a band... and I liked Allures bout 40 yrs ago,
man :)) eh sorry - pussy.. Ted was and is a force of nature, weirdos are long gone ;)
@@frankzappaspussy7362
Zoot Allures is a great album. But it's a different gig than this
Thankyou Ted, And Guy's. Great StuFF!!! Yes, I, Was There, LIVE!!!
Sick guitar solos ROCK ON
Goodamned...Im sooo fucking glad to read a comment about UNCLE TEDS rock n roll !! I mean FUCK !! thanx !!! Ted rocked my teen years ! thanks TED !
@huwgray
was down the front at birmingham odeon in 79, couldn't hear properly for days.
ahhhhh the good old days.
Uncle Ted is so technically good as a guitarist. It's a crime he's still not in the hall of fame.
This is great.
The 70's had the best music ever.
AMEN TO THAT...SAW NUGE 6 MONTHS AGO...STILL AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!!
Uncle Ted Rocks!
This was the Old Grey Whistle Test. No backing tracks. All live brother.
Teds the Man
That was a good solid kick in the nuts!
P....
Ted was never known for his vocal ability...... but dude could jam ! Motor City Madman rock on
But St. Holmes was a fine singer and rhythm player. Ted is slamming.
I threw my combo guitar amp in the back of my 67 Chevy Impala and hooked it up to the 8 track. Set out in the car past midnight listening to this album in 79...the year I graduated. Im sure my neighbors are still rolling in their grave yelling at me to turn it down!
I felt fine in 79 too, my g-year!
ted kicks ass!
Why aren't there more bands like this ( 2021 )? Bless em'!!!
Because Ted was born and raised in Detroit...they don't grow 'em like that!anymore
Cause it’s all computr bul shid
I got to see the Motor City Madman that year (1979) at Cobo Hall in Detriot. I twas a priceless show and he rocked out Free-for-All !!!
great feedback
What I love is you got old farts running around today going “These kids today are awful.” But yet the kids from the 70s had this stuff. I mean a different lifes yes but I mean, wow. Even parents back then didn’t understand it as today.
I love Ted nugent, Badass man as it can get. ✊🏻🇺🇸🎸
Teds a little different now but back in the day he was as good as it gets.
True story,
Ted Nugent was the biggest rock band in the world in 77, 78, and 79, that's right, 3 years in row...
Not too many bands can say that.
Love uncle Ted!!!
You have to give it to him,he is a great guitar player. Thanks for the upload.
I just love how he's got no control, literally going for broke in everything he does, no concern if it looks silly or sounds a bit ridiculous, it JUST WORKS. his guitar style is really cool like it's on steroids, man, I love this!
what i found amazing in 1979 the english loved american bands and singers
I find the English always try to downplay American bands and when they list American bands they always sell us way short and have glaring omissions like Steely Dan,Frank Zappa, and The James Gang, for instance. They also seem to overlook things like Steve Miller, The Eagles, Joe Walsh's solo career, Kansas, Boston, classic Alice Cooper, Sugarloaf, The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sublime,etc-etc. I think they're just being stuck up because there are so many good British groups. But at the same time they like some straight up rubbish too. Plus we invented rock n roll.
@@marilynmansonisfat5226 black blues players created rock and roll. The English bands just spun off it.
@@ballsdeep994u Rock is the marriage of blues and country.
@@ballsdeep994u Most of them (English Bands), give credit to the old blues guys now. Even Plant and Page, who sometimes didn't, acknowledge them now. Nugent has always and still does.
Uncle Ted, he's family.
SamtheSham2000 green day
Yeah, grew up with Uncle Ted...
If you play .. you know.. the guy is incredibly brilliant 🤩
You never hear a clunker note in a Nugent song.
Ah yes, back when live music meant you actually had to know how to play.
They just don’t play em like they used to man sad to see these men worked hard now it’s all “sound clouded” bs that nobody can understand what theyr sayin ya hear
Spending to much time searching obscure/underground rock bands, from the 70s, to no avail., leaving me scratching my head, and disappointed., when all I really needed to do, was to visit uncle Ted. Let me save you the time, searching, and trying to find that rock and roll holy grail/pot of gold, that eludes us, more often than not., and just check out any track, from cain - a pound of Flesh; or more Nugent, from the 70s. That should suffice.
ted nugent at his best king of 70s rock
Awesome and Nigel Tufnel on rhythm guitar too✌️😉🤭👍💜😊
Stands up to 40 years
Awesome job! Great classic tune from a better vanished era.
YES! Saw this on a BBC thing a few hours ago and I was convinced :P
At certain angles and under certain lighting Ted looks like Todd Rundgren from this era. Todd would come on this show a year or so later and play a wonderful mixed solo piano / electric set.
@KayakMike1963 Ha! That's hilarious. He still brings it, saw him recently in KC. Unfortunately, the audience hadn't faired as well as Ted with their 'age progression'. I love him-outspoken, unapologetic Ted.
im 64, ted is the man
I was born in 92 I think I may be the last generation who could turn on the TV one night, see an awesome artist/band for the first time and get into them the next day onwards. I feel sorry for kids these days, I haven't heard anything decent since 09.
I haven't heard anything good since 2000 and that was Pearl Jam.
you're not looking hard enough... there's good shit being released everyday
bummer
More 4 minute 'kick in yer balls' tunes, please!
Will Rock till I drop to TED 12-4-2019..cant be long 62 now!
they make it with remixes and computers.wheres the talent. uncle ted aint sharing.hes top of his game.even now. pure, raw TALENT
Saw Intensities in 10 Cities (in Germany). Mother's Finest opened, Great show. Re: this video - the other guitarist looks like Nigel Tufnel.
The other guitarist is Charlie Huhn who went on to front Gary Moore's band, Victory, Deadringer, and now Foghat.
I saw him in Richmond Va. when I was 13
Fantastic
Got damn! ole uncle Ted can rock. He would sell out fucking arenas huge arenas.
He can sure Handle that Gibson Birdland
this is the MOTOR CITY MADMAN all this crap about politics is just that. Have a few beers and just listen to the music!!!!!!
I remember when people used to do that. The 60's music was pretty good but too political. The 70's dropped the politics and just rocked out proper. It was amazing.
Wee thee ppeeppls alwtrazzz listen.,✌️👍👍🙏👁️🥃🎹🎸🎸🍀🍀🍀🎸

Joe walsh is so underrated. James Gang, Eagles, plus his solo career. Dude is classic rock royalty.
He was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fantastic rocker from the 1976 album !!! Great live version here !!! Ted Nugent Rules !!! Check out ." Doesn't Matter Where Or When ," an original rocking song and video on my site . Thanks , Adam Holtz
Ted Fuckin Nugent......nuff said
I am a proud liberal but no matter how right wing he is, he remains my favorite guitarist
I'm glad to hear that a lot of people would just insult him since they have different beliefs but you are an actual decent person to not just dis uncle ted
+James Ebert We need more people like you.
hell yeah man
James Ebert 😊
I'm not political but I know he's hated a lot. He's always Sweaty Teddy to me! The Great Gonzo man! I was like 16 and music was all I had at that age, I loved his first 4 or 5 albums!!! I bought them on album when they came out and cranked it up on my cheapie record player hooked up to like 20 little speakers throughout my room! WOOO!!!
Oh ya, "Dog Eat Dog" is my favorite album, so it the first one.
Early OGWT band stuff was mimed because the studio was too small for amps, but this is from the later 'Stage A' days when the show was all live.
Yeah I realized that as soon as I saw the logo, great show.
Brother Ted
I bet the UK studio audience enjoyed this performance...
I'm surprised Nuge was allowed on tv back then! lol
It would never be possible these days :) thank the liberals
This guy is definitely a guitar hero at the BBC
Both had killer songs...
Who in their right mind would ever call Bruce Springsteen 'The Boss' anyway?
Right? He used to have to pay radio stations to play his stuff. Payola. Look it up.
He probably dubbed himself "The Boss".
America's hero...
Merci!
@BMWproductionCo not really. ted was a detroit blues man-zeppelin learned blues rock. so did ted. detroit players in the 60s pushed a lot of chicago blues into new hieghts.sort of put it on speed frantic mode
Gonzo...what a beast!
Blistering performance
Who would have thought a Gibson Byrdland guitar could sound like this.
Ted did
Fckn Uncle ❤🤟
The Nuge, Kiss, Rush, SRV, Deep Purple arent in the rock and roll hall of fame, but LL cool J is? WTF they are a joke.
Absolutely awesome tune. Got many other good songs?

Cat Scratch Fever
Great White Buffalo
Motor City Madhouse
Light My Way
Hibernation
Cannon Balls

@@sngwrter49 Hey Baby, Snakeskin Cowboys, Dog Eat Dog, Journey To The Center Of The Mind, to name a few more.
pretty cool...Ted has Joe Walsh on bass and Nigel Tufnel playing rhythm guitar!
turned it to 11
Joe Walsh? The bloke from the Eagles????
i think he means glen frey.
Sure he does. Make that Charlie Huhn on rhythm guitar and the bassist is definitely not Joe Walsh.
Bassist Dave Kiswenny
teds endless hendrix feedback tributes
Great uploads mate, wondering if you can help me find a track that was on one of these programs, all i can tell you is the guy was sitting while he played a really cool black and gold guitar, pretty heavy rock. I would be most grateful for your assistance!
The true Mad Man
I think that is Tommy Shaw playing backup guitar. Did Styx know he was moonlighting in 1979?
Lol!! Never boring is he?
Ted put Redford Mi. on the map
When music had balls
It's YOU that needs to do some research.
Theodore Anthony Nugent first received a high school 1-S deferment in February 1967, when he was 18. After briefly being reclassified as available for service, Nugent got a 2-S college deferment when he enrolled in Oakland Community College.
In August 1969, Nugent took his draft physical and was rejected for service. He was classified as 1-Y, The 1-Y classification was usually issued to candidates saddled with significant medical or mental issues.
SOOKIE!
Gonzo!!
Also see Robin Trower
@TheStotter69 i don't think you're really in any position to judge, the mans had a successful music career for the last 35 years or so, what have you done?
Ted goes back to the 60's.
@themikeaustin I would LOVE to know who you consider to be a great guitarist. And yeah, I took it personally because he is one of my favorites. What, exactly, makes him over rated. The thing is, I probably like a lot of the same guitarists you like and I like a lot of guitarists for a lot of different reasons. He's a lot better than most people give him credit for. Now, that is my opinion, and you may not agree. And that is fine, but your comment WAS a bit over the top. Which means Ted approves
Uncle fckn TED
Too bad you are wrong. He had a school deferment, he was not called up for service. Do your research. The interviewer was stoned out of his mind, and laughing at everything Ted and his friends in the back room was saying. The MC5 was in the room also, and Ted stared jokingly saying he shit his pants, and the interviewer was laughing and wrote everything down as if it were serious.
Fuck yes!!!
