Well-Known Member. For those that don't know, in 1993, Madonna's album Erotica featured a tribute to Karen Carpenter entitled "Rain". Madonna's publicist Liz Rozenberg confirmed this upon the single's release.Jul 27, 2003
I prefer the album version than this radio edit version. This is my favorite song on the album. This song was inspired by the novel Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Bronte. I love the warmth of her vocal performance in contrast to the cool feeling of the musical production. I love music build up before the bridge and the spoken word part with the 2 spoken word parts interweaving each other.
This kind of music will never get out of style yesterday hit and still a hit today. Spectacular song from a great great singer Madonna.
Thanks Zander! Truly the Queen of Pop 👑☔️.
I despise the RADIO MIX...the ALBUM VERSION is a MASTERPIECE ❤
I love the original version of Rain of course but I appreciated the radio remix because Madonna’s vocals were more prominent and upfront. 🙂
The lyrics are gorgeous
Madonna has always been a brilliant songwriter 🙂🙏.
Hi, this is a reworked version of the original one on the album
This is the radio remix version. Madonna’s vocals here are more upfront compared to the album version. Thank you 🙂🙏
the most underrated ballad of hers. this is probably the most beautiful among her ballads.
Thanks Jonathan! Appreciate the positive comment. 🙂🙏☔️
I think her most underrated ballad is "Time Stood Still", from the The Next Best Thing movie.
Super agree. This amazing ballad should have been at least a top ten hit. Glad that the song is included in her Celebration tour set list. 🙂

Thanks for the info. I have always known that Madonna was a fan of the Karen Carpenter. It’s great that Liz confirmed this ❤️.

Thanks a lot David! One of Madonna’s best songs and vocal performances indeed. Glad to have featured this song as part of our rain-themed week. ☔️
