An interesting thing about that “bastardization arc” post. On Nickelodeon, there used to be a show called El Tigre about a Mexican superhero who mostly gets into trouble rather than help people because he thinks it’s more rewarding. In the finale episode, there’s even that cliche where he has to choose which side he has to be on. The way that the episode airs, he decides to stay a good guy, BUT according to the creator of the show, that’s not how he wanted it to be at all! He was really setting up El Tigre (Manny Rivera) to become a super villain throughout the show, but Nickelodeon didn’t like the message and forced him to change the ending!

"Bastardization arc" is how I play my current Jedi character in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Originally a devoted but somewhat shortsighted Jedi, she prefers effective short-term solutions to drawn-out negotiations.
As her journey continues, she befriends a giant lizard that hunts Wookies for sport and a literal terrorist.
Over time, she becomes disillusioned with the Jedi Order and takes matters into her own hands. Killing brainwashed Jedi Masters rather than freeing them, wiping out entire city blocks to flush out her target.
Eventually, she reunites with her first teacher, brainwashed to obey the Sith Emperor. Blinded by this apparent betrayal, she strikes him down in anger. But as his body drops, no tears are shed. She cut down her last ties to the Order. She's free and will do as she pleases.
Her new goal? Gain more power, destroy the Sith Emperor and take his place to make the galaxy the place she wants it to be.

About the bastardization arc: My group in a dnd game did this. One character became a vampire because of Strahd and attacked the inn we were in (Blue Water Inn).
The results:
- Druid of the Spores Kenku died (my character)
- Barbarian Orc died
- Halfling Rogue killed and became an undead monster
- Two characters escaped
- Almost had a tpk

I've always disliked ✓A since it deviates so much from the manga. I've read the full series, including TG:re, and in case you haven't read it HUGE spoilers ahead
I hate how they killed off Hide in the anime since it was intentionally ambiguous in the manga. Was he killed or not?
The answer is he wasn't! He returns in :re and it was revealed that Kaneki only ate part of his face and that was it
And then I saw that they were making the anime adaptation of :re and was confused like "how are they gonna deal with Hide in this continuation? They killed him off..?" And all in all the execution of that season just irked me quite a bit lol

Ben realizes what he's done, First Order troops pursue a mole at Supreme Leader Rey's request, and Ben is secretly helping the Resistance get to her out of self-induced guilt so they can either save her from herself or kill her if necessary.
