How To Properly Insert a Disc In PS5

Here's how to insert your PS5 Disc properly. It' easy to get it wrong and insert the disc wrongly into the PS5.
In this tutorial, you'll see how to insert the disc both when the PS5 is in standing position and when it's lying on its side.

How To Insert PS5 Disc:
Take the disc out of its case and hold it properly so as not to put fingerprints and dirt onto the data side of the disc.
Ensure the printed side of the disc is on the same side as the black part of the console. (The part with the console buttons)
Gently insert the disc into the PS5 until about halfway, then the console will pull it in. That's how to insert Disc in PS5

I thought I was putting the disc in the right way but the system made weird noises when I did. I put the disc in wrong and had it laying on the wrong side😞 Thanks for preventing me from potentially damaging my PS5 and games

It's a little bit deceptive, confusing really, the way it works. The label side of the disc still faces to the left, but with the PS5 in horizontal position, the disc drive is on the bottom. Definitely makes sense how the disc is inserted, just bizarre for the disc drive to be on the bottom.

From someone that is more used to inserting discs into my consoles that stand horizontally, often times inserting the discs into vertical-oriented consoles makes me feel a bit paranoid that I'd be accidentally scratching the label of the disc, like if I'm unknowingly leaning the disc towards the label side 😅

Yeah it's a sort of weird design, though stylish and eye catching. Disc drive is on the bottom with the PS5 horizontal. Disc label facing left if using vertical position.
