I'm with you on this, Thew. I'm pretty annoyed that they're just doing "G1 AGAIN (but with minimal twist)", but I also can't ignore that Siege OP is a great figure. I got him but I don't think I'm gonna get any more of this line. It all just feels too obvious to me.

I blew my brother's mind a few days ago when I stated that Soundwave's Alt. Mode looked like a cross between the USS Enterprise and a Borg ship. Now I just wish it looked as awesome as it sounds.

This is still like one of the greatest Transformers ever created and for certain one of my favorites. The robot mode is borderline perfect, even the kibble is managed to add to the design like wrist guns and a jetpack that's perfect for weapon storage, the transformation is SO fun and satisfying while also being complex, the truck is really cool and even completely hides the leg segments, and even THE WEAPONS have fun variety and transformations.

Siege is such a good line. Lot's of well created altmodes (and Soundwave) and transformation that's surprisingly complex coming off the combiners, but not ridiculously so. God I love the Ultra Magnus and Shockwave.
I cannot wait for the siege minibots. Hopefully we get siege powerglide or warpath, especially warpath, because we don't have a good classic scout class one yet.

Thew I have to say there is a hidden port in truck mode as knee caps have to panel that flip up for vehicle mode and that where you can store primes gun and also act as a trailer hitch
Dear master Thew...he DOES have a trailer hole. There are 2 small blue tabs that flip up. I ALWAYS forget them too. I had to cut off them truck eyebrows but that robot mode is some kinda sonethin'.
So, short, possibly interesting story, but I just got the cartoon paintscheme of this guy as an early b-day gift from my wife today (As well as a couple others), and while I've championed how much I love Siege Galaxy Upgrade Prime, I do have to admit that this guy knocked him down to second place in my top Prime figures list. GA-Prime is really cool, and I love his robot mode with all the armor, but something about this guy just really does it for me, and I wasn't even alive in time to have G1 Nostalgia. (First figure was a Beast Machines Buzzsaw, and first cartoon was Armada)
I wasn't all that fussed about Cog till I saw all the pics going around of just how natural it looks combined with this Prime figure in vehicle-mode. He might as well just be recast as a re-imagined Roller.

He's got the Touch, the Power, AND technically a trailer hitch! You just missed it, there's a flip panel revealing a 5mm port in the middle of the truck/legs. 👍
Funny you bring up Armada, they did show a prototype for an Armada Prime. Not sure if it's for the WFC line or what but I'm getting it. Armada introduced me to classic Transformers, i love the armada primes ridiculously wide truck mode
The first 30 seconds of “Oh yay G1” and “Here’s me thinking Generations was a plural” pretty much sums up how I’ve felt lately. I’ve said it everywhere else, and I’ll say it here. It would be nice if other parts of this brand would get the consistent acknowledgment that G1 has been getting for the last 7 years. It’s not called Generations for nothing.
Its funny Thew mentions Armada and Car robots because We got to see a preview of Siege Armada prime like over a year ago the same time we got to see the beta Masterpiece blackarachnea but while we got her we still haven't had any news on the only Optimus to regularly catch fire and that bums me out; I grew up on the tail end of Car robots and the beginning or Armada so that Prime means a lot to me (in spite of the aforementioned fire, mine never did that so I got lucky)
0:22 a small part of me has some hope that Hasbro will make the next to lines of the WFC line for Beast Wars and Armada remakes, especially since Micron Legend Convoy was in the Takara Legends line (not sure how it'd fith Hasbro's size class unless it's a Leader with a trailer).
The only reason they are making Armada Prime is because Armada's anniversary is coming up in a couple of years. I really want an entire Armada line, but i don't think that's going to happen.
What we need from the Siege line is a Jazz, a Wheeljack, a Bumblebee and a Skywarp all with G1 robot modes and episode 1 Cybertronian vehicle modes, like MAAS Toys Skiff but official this time...
Here's a thought about the half-G1, half-Cybertron alt modes: maybe it's a throwback to the first few scenes of the 80s cartoon where the characters had Cybertronian vehicle modes but the same Earth robot modes? Bit of a stretch, that one...
If you angle it right, you can fit a primemaster in his chest cavity pretty well, but it has to come out before the transformation. On another note, there is a concealed fold out trailer hitch on his right leg.

This basically reduces the PoTP prime into a Matrix&gun upgrade kit. The siege Optimus with the POTP gun looks badass.
Honestly this is exactly what I wanted from Optimus Prime in this line.
The transformation on this thing is fucking pure black magic and I adore it. Like the wheels coming down from the torso. I love that.
