HOA Karen forbids veteran Walk with Service dog! I'm not HOA Member I am the Owner r/EntitledPeople Приколы
If I had a Service Dog and someone on the HOA Board tried to fine me for having one...I'd have contacted my local ADA and Police to have a word with them. Let's see what they'd say after that....Good on OP for what he did and got the HOA President and HOA Karen off their backs.
Exactly SDs are expent from all no pet & breed restrictions laws & rules. Just like if I move to a place where put bulls aren't allowed to be. Snow my SD can't be denied to be with me.
Sue the hoa out of existence for starters
@@DedraAmbroseandSnow They just want to seem all high and mighty, that's all. They might assume all dog breeds can't be Service Dogs.
I hope that You followed through???
I had the same situation with Spanish at work as a regulatory officer. Trying to communicate she asked if I spoke Spanish , I responded in Spanish “very little “. Next comes a rapid fire response from her which totally bewilders me. Maybe my accent was too good, just a good teacher. But please listen and don’t assume anything beyond what was given.
I get the same. I understand just enough and speak just enough for the point to get across.
I loved the last story. lol
Myself don't see the benefit of living in a HOA. You literally got a board of people telling you what you can and can't do on own property. What's next telling you what brand of toilet paper you got to use to wipe your rear end..
Here's one I've heard on one of these recaps: Family in an HOA wants to repaint their house. They get the approved color swatches *from the HOA itself,* pick colors from those swatches, and repaint. Immediately after, the HOA comes after them for 'unapproved colors', because it turns out they'd given the homeowners an outdated set of swatches. The HOA forced the homeowners to repaint their house again.
That would have landed them in court. And there would have been damages paid. You are contractually required to get permission to and direction guidance on repainting your house, they provide you with color swatches to choose from, which you do on good faith that the gave you approve colors, you incur cost to have your house repainted ...... And it is only after the job is completed that they discover the gave you wrong colors to choose from ... Ah, no, I ain't repainting unless YOU cover the cost to do so. My house is the "wrong"color only because you f'd up. YOU caused the problem. Not me.
I agree. Where I live HOAs aren't a thing, at least I've never heard of them. I don't understand why they're allowed to exist or why anyone would join one.
Better have the approval on paper... signed and notarized if you know that they're an a-hole.
The OP in the last story is the hero we all need.
No one plays the victim more than those that give unwanted and unsolicited advice.
The police aren't there to enforce HOA rules or act as bullies for entitled people that don't get their way. They are there to enforce the law.
No they are there to do what they want. If a police officer wants to enforce hoa rules there is nothing stopping them.
Red, that last story was outstanding. That was a great read.
Lol, I’m in a similar position as the man in the first story re Spanish fluency.
I worked retail several decades. I took two years & had a terrible time with tenses. I could get by though, with a shrug & an apology: “Lo siento, yo hablo un poco espanol y solemente espanol de turista.”
“I’m sorry, I speak a [very] little Spanish & only tourist Spanish.”
This always got me a surprised, pleased look & a laugh.
Then we’d get on like a house on fire! They’d even helpfully correct my wording, which I didn’t mind.
A few even congratulated me on my accent/pronunciation.
Sometimes I’d have to ask, “Mas despacio, por favor” “More slowly please.”
One woman was very surprise & pleased that I could pronounce her name correctly… she always looked for me whenever she came in.
We’re in the US. A foreign language was not a requirement to graduate high school. I don’t know if this has changed or not.
I firmly believe everyone should have to take at least one year of a foreign language between 8th-12th grade.
30 years or so ago foreign language was required in middle and high school where I grew up... maybe it depends on the state.
@@NickoBaggins
It could. Our state didn’t require it. Years ago cousin from California came for a visit, we were close to the same age. I was excited to learn she was taking Spanish & asked, in Spanish, if we could practice. 🙄🤦🏻♀️ her “Spanish class” consisted of looking words up in the dictionary. So, yeah, probably varied by state then & now. ☺️
Last story, take it to the next level and get on the board and get the rules changed.
I tried that. You have no power. The management company is in charge and makes all the decisions 😢
First story I was expecting " And then the Karen appeared along with her talking to OP like he didn't understand English because of taking to the other lady in Spanish and once they learned OP spoke English going "Well don't speak Mexican (and a Karen would) this is Canada we speak English or French"
Spanish not Mexican. ✌️
To a Karen anyone who speaks Spanish is a Mexican.
@@crimsonfirelily I know it's Spanish but I fully expect a Karen to call it Mexican
I love people who know how to defend themselves. I'd like to thank that man for his service to both country and civility.
Last story was what I needed to start my day! Reminds me of a few situations I've been in. I have what I refer to as a school bus driver voice. I usually am soft spoken but do not get me riled up. I can project my voice at a volume that potentially could bust an ear drum if you are too close.
Happy hump day RedWheel hope you are well. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.🏴😁😷👍. Have a great day and a wonderful week ahead everyone
First story OP should of asked for her number. Could of had a great Spanish tutor at the least.
Story 1: A very nice, happy "I don't work here, lady" story. Thank you for sharing, OP.
Absolutely loved this story! Grill on, buddy! Many blessings to you and yours, two and four legged! Even the reptiles if there are any
Good morning everyone 😊
Good morning everyone 😊
Lovely first story!
Only way OP in the last story could've been more gigachad was if he'd held up a copy of the HoA laws and said "I've worked in the military for years creating and enforcing regulations. Do you REALLY want me to spend this evening reading through this and thinking up a million and a half ways to make your life a living hell without violating any of them or the law of the land?"
I love it when someone gets the same respect they give and they hate it!!!! Makes my black little heart soar
Oh dude, that last thing was one of the best I have heard , by the way I laughed all the way through it!
Walmart story: It just shows how far a little human kindness can go. Not every IDWHL story involves a Karen.
HOA story: OP done well, but just more reasons to never live in an HOA! But while there TECHNICALLY is a difference between grilling and bbq, many people see it as basically the same thing, calling a grill a bbq.
Good morning all! Great stories! Got to go to town today will catch your next set when I can!
Last story was the best one yet. Would like to hear more like that
As to the second story op was a lot nicer the I would have been. There was a possible violation of the ada as well as harassment and false claims. I would have filed complaints and threatened them with a lawsuit just to scare them. Op should have seen if he could have them removed from the neighborhood as well as the board.
3:01 as a tall person who can speak just enough Spanish to get in trouble (lol) I am so proud of this OP.
Sometimes, being tall is handy!
I love the first story. I was once in line at WalMart and had a conversation with a man who was new here from Mexico with his kids (for uni). We managed it all with a freshly downloaded translation app and a cell phone. His wife had recently died and he had 2 or 3 small children. He seemed relieved to have a simple and kind conversation with someone who tried. Seriously...we were in the only nighttime cashier line...where were we going to go? It cost nothing to be kind.
Love the grilling story. Add the dog thing too and it's the perfect double whammy
Im sorry...BUY WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND !!! would buy a home in an HOA WOW!
This over reach is exactly why I will never live in a HOA community again!
I really liked that last one! Having your ducks in a row really pays off! 🤣
RedWheel, the HOA story is by far your best yet!
No entitled people in the 1st story. Anyway, happy ending
Just say no Nintendo no mas sega
😂😂😂😂
why are so many HOA Karen's so incredibly psychotic....where did the "cop" get the idea that he had the authority to enforce HOA rules?....they are not law
BBQing & grilling is just about the same thing except BBQ is with the charcoal/woodfired grill & grilling is the propane grill. Smoking is the longer process of smoking meats/veggies on the low heat/lots of smoke grill/smoker.
Also, if you're not a part of the HOA, you can tell them to F**K off and there's not a damn thing they can do about it. OP was pretty smart for moving his grill to city property, though. (I probably would have invited the cops back for dinner & a beer after shift, too!)
So satisfying to listen to justice served, with a steak and a cold beer. 😂
Thank you, that was a bunch of great stories!
“Shut the f up and get out of my face.” *chefs kiss*
I am amazed over the facts that so often these kind of people (the HOA memebers) dont really do thew smart thing and check their own paperwork BEFORE staring to involve law enforcement personal or cite laws for the HOA that either are out of date or in conflict with laws in general. Luckely here in sweden we dont have HOA on that system what so ever as far as i know. We do have neigberhood watches (more just people looking and reporting crimes if the notice a breakin or similar stuff) and a nation wide organisation for houseowners.
A well made plan in deed!!!
Jack Reacher has entered the conflict.
GREAT STORIES!
Great job op, I HATE hoa's.
