  • With so many Mighty Morphin Power Rangers games available on console, it is an absolute shame that the Game Gear game is sorely overlooked. Power Rangers on the Game Gear is what I would call a sudo fighter. Mixing the elements of a fighting game with the elements of an action game to create a pretty unique and fun gaming experience. All while mixing in the Power Rangers world and lore that we all love. Let's dive and take a closer look!

    the real shocking thing about this game? when you beat the story mode you unlock dream mode which lets you have any character fight any other character (normally zords and rangers cant fight because of the size difference)

    • @InfiniteComboReviews
      @InfiniteComboReviews  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, though in the main campaign they did have a Megazord vs Green Ranger fight.

    I remember playing a friend's copy of this. I had one childhood friend with rich family members who flooded him with games and systems (At one point he had six or seven NES console, plus multiple SNES and Genesis units about half a dozen Ataris of various generations (Including a Jaguar and Lynx) A Sega CD, a 32X the Genesis and Sega CD Combo unit, Intelvisions, a Neo GEO and Neo Geo CD, a Colecovision and a TG-16, two N64s, a Saturn, and a PS1. In fact If memory serves he sold one of his extra unopened Gameboys to my parents and they gave it to me. Either that or he gave my the Gameboy direct and they got me Super Mario Land
    I didn't play it much though because I prefer Power Rangers as a beat em up. Plus he only had one Game Gear. When I spent the night at his house we would stay up late playing multiplayer games on one of the consoles or Gameboy then I would usually dive into his RPGs and strategy game collection while he was asleep so I didn't play Game gear fighting games much.

      Geez. I had a friend who had a lot of games too, always having something new every time I saw him but that is just nuts.

    This was one of my favorite games as a kid and unlocking green ranger was so awesome to me as a kid. I didn’t get to play other versions till down the line but whenever I get emulators this is like the first game I get. I feel like if I ever looked into it more the game gear would have a lot more hidden gems like this.

      I actually just reviewed the sequel to this game, but I also replayed this one for comparison. Personally I liked this version more. The Green Ranger and more zords options edge it out. As far as other Game Gear gems, I wouldn't know. I've only played these, VR Troopers, and the Sonic games as a kid.

      @@InfiniteComboReviews ya I played movie one and like it but also agree this one is better. Never knew there was vr troopers game. I’ll have to look into that. I remember as a kid also liking the Jurassic Park game. No clue if I still would. Also had sonic 2. I spent hours on that game with the game gear plugged into wall lol.

    I grew up with snes and genesis but this game seems to feel more like it was very inspired by to show. Almost like 8 bit episodes and each ranger fights with many more attacks than any other version of mmpr.

    Dude, I like your channel a lot. There were some people like you. We are a lot alike, do what you like, do it as you like it, not giving a damn about the brands that run. and even if you have been in existence for 10 years, you have created your own mini fanbase. Which I am happy to be a part of. I recently discovered you with the nightmer before christmas video and have been waiting for a new video ever since. keep it up.

    Quite shocking that the game gear of all places pulled out all of the stops for their power ranger game. Wish I could say the same about that Mega Man port but the Gameboy beat them out on that one. Anyways awesome review Spammer D! Introducing me to Power Ranger games I didn't know I should be playing. Time to load this one up for a nice dose of mighty morphin nostalgia.

    I don't know much about Power Ranger games (I've only played the one with Ivan Ooze on the DMG) but this looks really good. I'm amazed it's a pseudo-fighter though. Probably not the first genre or direction I'd think of if you say Power Rangers.

    • @InfiniteComboReviews
      @InfiniteComboReviews  3 года назад

      Wait. What's a DMG? I'm drawing a blank since there are 5 games with Ivan Ooze in it. I do get what you're saying though, but considering there is also a cart racer and pinball game, this isn't that odd by comparison.

      @@InfiniteComboReviews DMG is the original Game Boy :) I think the game is "Mighty Morphing Power Rangers: The Movie"? I don't own an actual cartridge of it. I have it in one of those 10-on-1 bootlegs.
