Power Rangers SNES Review - It's Morphin Time!

- Not one, not two, but five games share the name Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! Today we're going to take a look at my personal favorite of the group, Power Rangers on the SNES. This one is your typical side scrolling action. Fight some putties, fight some monsters, summon your zord, and finish the day with a drink at the juice bar. At first glance, this might seem like a faithful adaptation of the classic show, but a closer inspection reveals something different. What is it? Let's find out!

2:00 When MMPR S1 episodes from "Day of Dumpster" to "Green with Evil pt. 1-5" were released on VHS in Finland where I live and dubbed in Finnish, "teenagers with attitude" was changed to "brave teenagers" (in Finnish "rohkeat nuoret"), as descripted by Zordon in the opening titles.
That's way more accurate than what we got. These "teens" didn't have an ounce of attitude.
This looks like a fun game to emulate on my lunch break at work on my Android tablet. Thanks for your review it was an easy watch.
No problem. Glad you enjoyed it
It's great when games have a flexible difficulty scheme that doesn't punish players for playing lower difficulties, but gives hardcore players there challenge fix.
Hmmmm I don't know if I'd classify this game as one of those games. It's more like its really easy then gets hard out of no where at the end.
@@InfiniteComboReviews for sure I was just thinking about that as you discussed the difficulty.
@@precurrentgaming5300 Ah. Fair enough, and you do make a good point.
First: What's that microphone. It's pretty impressive especially during the talking point. What's your setup like? It's really clear o.o
Talking point were pretty clear and concise. Organization wise it's pretty well put together. Some gags are a just a biiit too drawn out (02:43 as an example)-- the punchline just almost hits, but it just barely misses the mark. But overall production value is pretty top notch. Super refreshing that you don't simply trash the game for the sake of trashing (there's already enough of that heh) good work
The mic is a audio technica microphone atr2500-usb. It was around $50 on amazon when I bought it. It's literally just a tripod mic sitting on my desk in front of my computer and I put a $10 dollar generic pop filter in front of it. Yeah, I'm not the best at delivering punchlines, which is why I try to make sure the jokes at least have meaning. I went to school for game design, so I'm a bit more understanding of games short comings and won't simply dump on a game without at least explaining the faults in in. Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@InfiniteComboReviews Haha I hope i didn't discourage you with the punchlines though. All that being said, it's a solid structure
@@KiguRoomie You're fine. Go look at the comments on my Chakan video and you'll see that this is nothing.
Power rangers snes, the beat em up platforming game, has an incredible soundtrack
Indeed!
9:11 I kept hearing "the kinkier games are deeper" before I realized what you said
Game Gear = Kinky.... oooooohhh yeahhhh
Dope review, loved the video!
Thank you!
This is my favorite of the original pre-move Power Rangers games. IMO Power Rangers suits beat em ups much more then i fits fighting games so that knocked the Genesis game down a few points, the one vs one aspect of the Game Gear game also cost it a little, the Gameboy game was ok but not as good as this, and the less said about the Sega CD game the better. I'm surprised you haven't covered Power rangers Mega Battle easily my favorite Power Rangers game so far though Rita's Rewind might take that slot.
Edit: I hadn't realized Mega Battle had been delisted for some reason.
I didn't get to play this one until I was an adult, but yeah it seems like the best of the pre-movie games, though the Game Gear one is my favorite. Might be nostalgia though.
Yeah, unfortunately I kept putting off buying Mega Battle so its a bit out of reach at the moment.
@@InfiniteComboReviews Yeah I did the same thing with X-Men the Arcade game for a year after I got my PS3 and ended up missing my chance to get it. It sucks when games get delisted with no warning. At one point I was debating between getting it and the Simpsons Arcade game and for some reason that I don't recall I went Simpsons
@@roguerifter9724 I actually have both of those on the 360, but the big difference there is that those games are easy to find roms for.
@@InfiniteComboReviews When old games I like go on sale digitally I usually buy them even if I have the rom. And I didn't really start using roms beyond those my best friend had until long after this anyways.
Dude, I think my brother and I rented this one from blockbuster a few times when I was younger. It definitely looks familiar.
Was it co-op? If it was, then you played the sequel which looks super similar
Absolutely love your style of reviews man!!!!!
Thanks a lot!
InfiniteComboReviews would love to collab some day great videos
I don't know how well our styles would mix but I'm open minded.
InfiniteComboReviews we’ll stay in touch. Ya never know. Any exposure is a plus for all 😊

Stage, mid stage enemys then part stage again then boss
Thanks.
And that was wat i hhear in the past, you can unlock the green ranger actually with a password
@@jaxxh6529 What is it? I don't see anything about that anywhere?
@@InfiniteComboReviews that was in the past and i checked but i cant find anything about it but i am sure it was a thing back then
@@jaxxh6529 I looked it up. I think you're thinking of the Sega Genesis version. There are five games with this name and cover and they are all different. I reviewed each of them.
