The "Hadoken" motion was basically all the moves for every character. Down, forward button 1/button 2. Then there was every characters SPECIAL attack which was same motion but both buttons at the same time. Plus using both buttons while standing still, crouching, or jumping. This game was genius and simplistic. BEST Mighty Morhpin game of the 90's hands down!
What's funny is no other fighting game does this. Each character in other fighting games have their own moves but no other fighting game but this one has a universal special attack command list, which helps you transition seamlessly from learing one character to learning another. I don't know why either. If they did it this way, it would make things a lot simpler
To correct Ryan Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was on for 3 seasons. Season 4 was Power Ranger Zeo then Season 5 was Power Rangers Turbo then Season 6 was Power Rangers in Space.

I'm surprised you guys didn't at least glance at a move list for this. The input is the same for all characters: down, forward +1; down, forward + 2, and down, forward + 1+2. The moves are really diverse and they elevate this game to being kinda great! Loved it when I was a kid. MMPR: The Movie is the same as this except with different characters.
Finally someone who knows how deep this game can be. Don't forget the very hard mode bro! This game can kick your ass. I remember it would make my fucking fingers hurt. Good times.

There's one extra move in Movie version: QCF+QCF for the super move when the lightning bolt is full.

Out of all the Power Rangers games this one was definitely my favorite and I used to play it to DEATH omg. I especially liked the VS Modes which turned the game in a tournament fighter :D

I'm only familiar with the SNES Power Rangers games but these graphics look really good for the Sega Game Gear.

I'm surprised the megazord sprite is not just mirrored for direction change, but in fact new sprites for the other direction when you look at the legs.
Also that last boss of the game, I wonder if this also has a JP version of it. The Sentai version of that final mecha was not piloted by Goldar, but by Rita Repulsa's son (don't know her japanese name).

It's the same sprite, they just changed the palette so the legs switch colors.
They skipped two seasons, actually. ToQger is the one based on trains, while Go-Busters was an attempt to appeal to American audiences, even including references to Power Rangers.
Also, Turbo was before In Space.
As for the best Power Rangers series, most fans usually think In Space, Time Force, or RPM are the best seasons.
Duke Spubber they also skipped all the seasons before zyuranger and this most likely going to skipped over zyuohger from what i hear
I have a soft spot for Zeo, but honestly it's probably mostly because of the theme song and Jason coming back as the Gold Ranger.

Power Rangers got banned in Sweden because a group of kids murdered another kid while playing Power Rangers.
Pretty fucked up, but it's also wrong to blame it on the TV-show.
Edit: Apparently it got banned in all of Scandinavia and the incident happened in Norway.

Shell Shock has two projectiles- that cannon and the stop blast, both on different arcs. Kinda like how Dragonzord's projectile attack fires three times, one down close by your feet and then further and further away each time. Extremely committal attack though!
It goes Mighty Morphing, Zeo, Turbo, then Space. After that, the generations don't connect as much until Wild Force. That's when they get crazy with the crossovers.
shizuwolf Most of the seasons from Lost Galaxy on still have a crossover episode with the previous team, some far better than others.

Quick history on the Power rangers. In Japan it was called Super Sentai. It started in the early 70's. Each season was called something different. Saban Entertainment picked up the rights to reproduce it in America. Saban Started it with the 16th season of Super Sentai and called it the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. There are a lot of differences and references between Super Sentai 16th season called Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger and the Power Rangers.
To answer the question does Voltron have anything to do Super Sentai, no they don't. Two completely different companies made each series. By the way, the original Voltron was called Beast King GoLion.

Vr Troopers is adapted from Shaider, Metalder and Spielban. Beetleborgs are adapted from B-fighter and B-fighter Kabuto. All of these are from the Metal Hero Franchise which was already popular pretty much everywhere but english countries before Power Rangers.
Justin Massie VR troopers is based off of 3 seasons of what was called The Metal Hero series. Big Bad Beetleborgs were also based on the same series just different seasons of The Metal Hero series in Japan.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers went from the original, to Zeo, to Turbo, then Space. After that starting with Lost Galaxy, it was all new characters & only lasted 1 Season. Other than like Tommy coming back in Dino Thunder & all of the episodes where the previous season's Rangers would make a cameo in the next 1 or anything like that.

Wow. What a trip seeing this game again. I was not allowed to have a console as a kid but I did have a game gear and game boy. Most of the games you play I only got to experience later as an adult. For once this is a game I remember playing as a kid. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. It made the video feel really special to me. The Vs mode is what makes it so fun. You get to play as the boss characters. Hope you tried it. I'll also second the motion of more Game Gear games. Shining Force Sword of Hajya is a great one. There's even a Zelda reference in it. lol.
I always loved this one, it was probably my most consistently replayed Game Gear game.

Dragonzord F. stands for Dragonzord Fighting Mode.
The Mega-Dragonzord was the regular Megazord wearing the Dragonzord as armor.

After Mighty Morphin Power Rangers it was Power Rangers Zeo, then Power Rangers Turbo, then Power Rangers In Space. .
I watched Power Rangers up through the Turbo season, right after they changed out the remaining original cast members. Once Tommy, Kat, and Adam left, I was like "okay, that's enough for me".
Then "Power Rangers In Space" happened and I wound up wishing I had hung on for just one more season. lol
The guy who designed the suits for Zyuranger (MMPR) and mechs for the show was a student of the guy who designed the original GoLion/Voltron. The legs are a design homage to one of his teacher's best known creations.

ii remember watching power rangers before school. i remember watching it in the afternoon after school. then i quit wqatching tv before school and slept in and watched pokemon right when i got home because i had to walk and i wouldnt move from the tv or talk to anyone untill the show was over lol

I had this as a kid. they put it out just before the start of season 2 where they get the white Ranger and the thunder zords.

Well it was MMPR (3 seasons, where they had 3 different genres ranging from the Dinozords to the Thunder Zords to the Ninja/Shogun zords), Zeo, Turbo, THEN In Space, and that was the final Zordon era chapter.
I loved this game as a kid, one of the best on the game gear.
There were originally 190 Pokémon developed for gen 1 but the other 48 were programmed for gen 2 instead. The Zordon era was MMPR, Zeo, Turbo then In Space. Tommy's White Ranger costume was the only costume used from the Super Sentai series the ThunderZords came from which was DaiRanger

Dudes! I spent so much of my childhood playing this game and the movie one. Until my Game Gear broke, at least. It was great how special moves worked too. They all used the Hadouken motion (down, forward) and then punch, kick or both. The Movie one also had super combos of sorts, which you did by doing the Hadouken motion twice before pushing the buttons when the lightning bolt thing near the health bar is flashing.

I am guessing this was already planned before I mentioned reviewing this in the MMPR videos from Mr Rolfe. Cool you did it. The movie game on GG is almost the same thing again. The show was on Fox in Philly from the beginning (1993) till at least 1998 ('In Space' - the 6th season). It ran 5 days a week: Mon to Thu 17:00 ET, then switched to 16:30 & eventually 16:00 ET then Saturday morning at I think 09:00. Friday afternoons Goosebumps came on in the 16:30 ET timeslot.
There was a fighting game and Ivan Ooze was seriously OP.

Choosing Mega Dragon Zord to battle Shell Shocker is like summoning the normal Mega Zord to squash regular sized Shell Shocker.

Game Gear had a pretty solid collection of games - especially Shining Force: The Sword Of Hajya. It's crazy to see how far handheld gaming has come though!
the game gear itself is one of the old systems that didn't age well I have an old gameboy that works perfectly but old game gears tend to have lots of technical issues
