5:34 "Fuck this, man. Imma go into anime"
And today, Johnny Yong Bosch is regarded as one of the greatest voice actors in anime dubbing history
Either ahead of its time or he knew something.
It's nice to know that at least one cast member found true success after leaving this stupid brand behind.
BANKAI!!!!!!
He also voiced Nero from Devil May Cry
My right ear feels lonley
MrBanankartong OK! I don't get it What Is It!
#lolz

I thought I am having a stroke for a second
At least it still gets the Power Rangers theme.
Actualy, the reason Bulk and Skull now hang with the power rangers have two reasons: the first is that they weren't precisely "bullies", just had an obnoxious sense of humor. They liked to annoy the group, but they also showed us they LIKE those people. And when they found out they were the power rangers, they grew admiration and respect towards the group.
Bulk and Skull never knew they were the Power Rangers. The only Rangers whose secret identities they learn were the in Space team.
MrKlausbaudelaire Actually, they didn't knew anything about the true identities of the original teams of Power Rangers (Mighty Morphin'-Power Rangers Turbo). They just found out about the identities only the Space Rangers at the end of "Countdown to Destruction". But that's it.
Xaviergray87
yea, something like that, I don't know WHEN they found out, but I DO remember in Wild Force, when a red ranger is called, and Bulk and skull give him the phone.
MrKlausbaudelaire Yeah, that was actually Tommy that they had given the phone to in "Forever Red". I think it's because they've now shown an infinitive amount of respect for him since, they've decided to stop messing with him back when they were still students in Angel Grove High School. But, that's just what I think.
Xaviergray87
yup, specialy when they fight to see whp pick up the phone, and seens VERY reluctant to disturb Tommy to pick the phone xD
It took me about four years to Realize the “fuck this I’m going into anime” joke because I totally forgot that the black ranger is played by Johnny Young Bosch
The entire joke he made what's hilarious because in the end, Johnny Young Bosch is an amazing voice actor
He voices Ichigo Kurosaki in the English Dub of Bleach and Nero from Devil May Cry 4 & 5.
Red ranger...Johnny was the Red ranger. However, The dude that played the Black Ranger did do some voice acting as well (Sadly the only thing i can think of on top of my head was "Rapsody Kids" or whatever that crappy christmas movie was XD)
I enjoy my NC filmed on a potato.
Chad Hook NC: Hello I'm the Nostalgia Spud! I bake myself so you don't have to!
Zachary Erickson no way!?
Chad would you also like butter with that sir?
The punchline is 2007.
My right ear feels lonely.
Clever Goblin171 lol
SplitNerd nope!
***** Mine is a lonely left ear.
***** I use a headset with a front facing mic, kinda hard to wear it bacwards
Gehrig Harris I cant hear shit
"The Brady Bunch reunion." I'll admit, that was clever.
I love that's show
that was actually the actor adlibbing.
Best line in the movie, honestly
No on
That and "Woohoo! Where's my autograph book!?"
"AND WHY IS THAT SONG SO DAMN CATCHY?!"
Because it's the Power Rangers.
Of course their song is catchy.
You just too blinded by your stupid ungodly hatred for the Power Rangers that don't understand absolute nothingness about them.
Same goes for your unnecessary hatred for Spider-Man as well.
Obnoxious Hater.
It's just 9 minutes, right ear. It'll be over soon.
Fortner Films Ha ha ha if only my left earbud worked
I've seen the Turbo review several times. I've never come across this video. This is buried DEEP in the channel.
I was wrong, I have seen this before.
+Douglas Rau you know that thatguywiththeglasses came first for nostalgia critic, right?
On one of his f*ckup videos he mentions that the reason for the change of actors wasn't really due to racial stereotyping. That's what put me on to this. But other than that, yeah - this is OLD SCHOOL Nostalgia Critic.
Douglas Rau Now you can see almost every single NC video of Doug's in the Nostalgia Critic videos playlist.
I JUST GAVE THE 100. LIKE TO YOUR COMMENT!
R.I.P. Jason David Frank! Once a power ranger, always a power ranger.
Wow, how nice of you to use his death to get likes 😒
@Commander Shepard Oh please! Grow up! Everybody has to find something to fault someone else about. 🙄
“Once a Power Ranger, always a Power Ranger!” Maybe that was the problem! 😣
@@KahlessTheUnforgettable ya if ya watching power rangers operation overdrive XD
My childhood hero
Unfortunately some of the information in here isn't terribly accurate; Zach and Trini (the aforementioned original Black and Yellow Rangers respectively) left the show along with Jason, the first Red Ranger, over money concerns. While the producers tried to avoid racial snaffus in future castings, them leaving the show didn't have anything to do with the original mistake.
I noticed that too. In fairness, NC is CLEARLY not a Ranger fan, so I can't blame him for not knowing.
Will from overdrive would like to talk to you
Doug never does his research, him getting this wrong isn't overly surprising
It also wasn't a mistake to cast the black guy as the black ranger. Originally they wanted the black guy to be the yellow ranger and the asian girl to be the black ranger, but Zack (the black guy) requested to be the black ranger because he said he thought it was more recognizable. And he is right. If you ask me, I would think most black guys would want to be the black ranger. Not racism.
@@cinemamadness6920 don't speak for everyone In a certain demographic, otherwise you end up with misconceptions like furries, undertale, and feminism.
"Fuck this, man. I'm going into Anime."
Then go ahead,
I'm not stopping you.
I recommend watching Bleach,
It's a really good anime series.
@@jeuryrabassa4724 Thank your a wonderful recommendation. I appreciate it quite a lot.
*proceeds to watch Code Geais*
@@ineed2speed *Geass.
Well atleast the first season was great.
Season 2 kinda sucks though.
Except for the openings, endings and soundtrack.
How Adam didn't get it on with Dulcea absolutely escapes me.
I just feel bad for Adam cuz
-he got cockblocked by the producers (witch I get since they are in the kids shows)
-he got drastic random hair style change when PR turbo came around
-his megazord in MMPR S3 WAS A FUCKING FROG 🐸
AND
-his megazord was like what a submarine mini van???
GOD somebody give Adam a raise
@@dylanthebiguy To be fair a Ninja esque form with a frog is actually founded in japanese Myth. There is a demon who looks like a giant frog which is intelligent and cunning called Gamabunta. It's said Gamabunta is the founder of the shinobi(ninja) arts. He could also wield weapons so he was a force to be reckoned with.
The folklore hero Jiraya was an apprentice of that frog who helped him to become the man he is.
Yes, the Naruto series had those reference down all along.
And not just Naruto, the Pokemon Greninja is a Ninja and a frog and has the same mythological inspiration.
Those are just two prominent examples from which there are many more.
My favorite thing about this movie is when she's swings the sticks, they use two different kinds. When she breaks them apart and swings them, she grips the ends. But when the shot cuts and she's almost finished, the sticks have handles :P
Also, "fuck this, I'm going into anime" lol
It wasn't because of race the original three black yellow and red ranger wanted more money producer said no so they were let go and replaced with three newcomers
Yeah he already corrected himself with that error in the top 11 nostalgia crotch mess ups
renji90998 and the yellow ranger actress died or was that before or was that because she was busy with the crow ok I’m confused
She died much later, in 2001 :'(
@@MetalSandman999 And her funeral which the other actors attended was held on September, 10th, 2001. Think of a worse week to have. Monday: Funeral for a good friend. Tuesday: Witness the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

How come Kimberly is so hot? I don't know but I'm not complaining.
MrHieco I met her in person. She is short and adorable and still hot af

Ya that haircut was pretty popular in the 90's . Alot of popular styles from the past always gets recycled.
didn't the actor for the blue ranger quit because he made fun of for being gay
Nathan Evans that info didn't come out until 2010.
i see my mistake
Yes he did. Early 90'S was still the height of the AIDS epidemic, and people where very scared and also discriminating towards gay people.
@@MrEmpoleon2010 you'd be surprised how easy it was to spot
I actually loved this movie as a kid but looking at it now, I'll just keep it in my memories.
@sweetblackblood1 Nothing wrong with that. ;)
The movie is ok. The CGI for the Zords look awful.
Me with SpongeBob and Annoying Orange.
I still like it. Just gotta be light hearted.
Kimberly was my first ever crush hehe... and she still looks beautiful today.. damn this show was my childhood haha
It's weird to think of how mellow Doug's reviews used to be.
Beams come from their chest, presumably bringing him back from the dead with the power of their love, and not one Care Bears joke?
According to Johnny Yong Bosch at Bangor Comic and Toy Convention just a couple of weeks ago, most of the budget for this movie actually went to... reshooting the whole movie because they decided to recast Dulcea. AFTER filming was finished. She was originally to be played by Mariska Hargitay, which is something I'd personally very much like to see. He also said both of the Power Rangers movies he was in had tons of awesome action and plot footage that was just unceremoniously scrapped when the 900 people behind the scenes had ideas for "better ways" to fill the time. Screw an awesome montage where all the Rangers learn how to use their powers and what advantages each one of them has, they had a skydiving scene to shoot!
I must admit that I had just had a very long day before I watched this review. Then I read your comment and then began to envision Mariska Hargitay bounding up and down like Dulcea in this review.....made my day THAT much better! lmao.
oh god i think he needs to redo this review lol. im sure it'd be better with how he is now.
also, you were wrong about the reason the characters were changed as far as suits. the two you mentioned, as well as the original red ranger, were fired because of a disagreement on how they were being paid.
ADogX's Gaming but this is old as hell so im sure you already knew now. i just want to sound smart :p
ADogX's Gaming I didn't even know that. I was four when the movie came out and all I saw of the power rangers were re-runs so I was confused when the red, black, and yellow rangers were different characters. But I didn't question it much cause I just loved the power rangers. And yeah he told the movie out of order and there was more to it that could have been said.
Well he probably wasn't into it because power rangers one of his most Hated shoes be rather not review if asked to.
***** really? I think i missed that video. Guess it's time to watch it
gunfighter i guess that makes sense
so apocalypse from xmen had a cameo in power rangers
zero apocalypse was a giant metallic blue android
Anthony Barratt it’s a joke.
The skydiving was greenscreened by the way…
Scott Sandler that was amazing green screen then
It actually wasn't. Watch the special features on the DvD
I met the real actors and talked with them they said everything was real
7:16
Always gets me. The way Doug looks up after “Remember what we learned?” 😂
rip tommy
you know i never wanted my right ear to hear the critic's voice anyway
Me neither
My left ear enjoyed this video
So's mine.
I will say Ivan Ooze was the best part of this movie.
Also I read a draft of the script where they do explain that this tribe brought the Great Power from another dimension but for some reason they cut it and they did come to Zordon first in that draft but I think they wanted to make it more climatic. Also that frog kissing line wasn’t in it either instead they talked about how the frog is as sick as lightning or something like that.
I love watching old nostalgia critic reviews!
3:11 Power Rangers are people first. And here’s a little phrase that I would like for you to consider.”It’s not the power that matters,it’s the person wielding the power.”
1:42 because those two were the founders of the whole concept to bring the Japanese show to MURRICA in the first place and also were the producers/writers/directors before the guy that act as blue ranger billy took over the directing and writing role and went to start the Beetle Borgs show going
I enjoyed this film. There I said it.
O_o I'm surprised that there's no comments calling out critic on the wrong information completely at 1:05 The OG red, yellow, black rangers left the franchise over pay disputes(Disregarding ASJ-Jason coming back a bit for Zeo) The new rangers you see in the movie were already in the TV series.
RIP Thuy :(
Rest in Piece Tommy
You gotta miss the old critic, cause the new one feels odd in a way that this one doesn't have which is good.......plus the power rangers theme is SO unforgettable! GO! GO! POWA RANGERS!
I think he got carried away with skits.
@@mrquestionmark1864 keep the skits.
I enjoy the skits, even the really long ones, but the problem with them is that they used to tell some sort of a story incorporating elements from what he was reviewing, but later the skits were just making fun of what was going on in the movie, which can be done verbally anyway
I havent seen any newer NC episodes (I actually decided to just go back to the beginning and watch all of them), but i would probably figure that he would have to tone down some of the jokes to not piss people off and make them try to cancel him again. I mean would that boob distraction joke really have gone well if he released this today?
2:38 Huh, I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition.
*dramatic music and three Spanish Inquisition comes out of now where* NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn! (To Cardinal Biggles) I can't say it - you'll have to say it.
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION
Are chief weapon is surprise!
OK, how did Doug know that Johnny Yong Bosch became an anime voice actor?!
6:41 Oh how naive I was as a young girl to understand why that knee kick was so lethal.
Ah the iconic ad-lib.
*clears throat* "I'm a Frog" "Yes, a Frog! like the one you kiss, to get a handsome prince!"
your response to that was absolutely perfect! XD I'm sitting here just dying of laughter (why did it take me FIVE YEARS to find this video!?)
"where are theae kids parents!?!?" Lmao that's a great question...never thought of that as a kid
actually doug the actors were swapped due to an inability to come to an agreement on vontact and salary between the yellow black and red rangers bc the red ranger was also replaced. the actors wanted more money and were subsequently were replaced in the show a while before the movie came out
Jacob Logan what a boring fact to know.
Jacob Logan all true. As well as the fact that they were just completely unaware of the coincidence until a dozen episodes were already film. Additional irony to this was that Tommy (whose actor & character has Native American ancestry) was originally cast as the Red Ranger
yea not everything is automatic racism and stereotyping, sometimes its just simple oversight. kind of like the oversight that the original yellow ranger in the japanese is a male in the suit. you notice kimberly is the only one with curves in ranger form
The Critic acknowledges this in one of his Top 11 F*ck Ups videos - probably the first one. He did say he intended it as a joke, but it doesn't come across very well here. Rob wasn't writing with Doug at this time, and Doug was still getting the characteristics of the Critic and the show down.
Not exactly oversight, that... The guys at Saban figured, for some inexplicable reason, that only one female on the team wasn't PC enough, you had to have a gender balance of some sort as well as the multi-ethnic crew.
Thus the Yellow ranger was Supposedly female in the adaptation, and it was considered possible because "Trini's" chest wasn't, well, that big. They figured kids wouldn't notice.
They were mostly right, in fact. Sentai fans, on the other hand...
"Why is it sunny in space?", "Why is alpha so gay? ", "Why is Kimberly so hot"?
Lol.
Despite how much of a snoozefest I found the midpoint of the movie to be, seeing Zordon be genuinely so happy to see the kids with that “Rangers!” Always warms my heart
Ugh my right ear. Johnny Yong Bosch became an anime/video game VA, and I highly recognize him as Nero, Ichigo, Firion, Adachi and Narukami. We also had countless VAs in Power Rangers before getting into voice acting in anime. On the bright side, Alpha's VA Richard Steven Horvitz voiced Dagget, Zim and Billy right after, while for Time Force, Dan Southworth played Vergil in the Devil May Cry series alongside the end of the Fox Kids era's stuntman Reuben Langdon as Dante.
Came here when I heard the news about JDF. Your review has stuck with me all this time just like this movie has.
This is a review that could use a remake. There is a lot of poorly researched information including the reason for the departure of the cast, and Bulk and Skull being pointless when they have a very well written arc.
Dougs face when Zordon comes back to life 😂😂
"Fuck this man, I am going to anime!" Epic!
1:00 - "The first thing you Power Ranger fans might have noticed was a change in cast..."
I think any Power Ranger fans at the time would have watched the show up to that point and would already be aware that there was a cast change since it happened in the show lol
Iirc, the episode where Rocky, Adam, and Aiyisha join the team didnt air until after the movie was already out
8:30 A question we've all asked for years.
This was the Nostalgia Critic episode that started my journey with Doug. Can't believe its been 16 years. Thanks for all of the great memories.
OMG THIS IS SUCH AN OLD EPISODE
4:47 OH MY GOD!!! Doug has hair!
This movie is one of my few guilty pleasures
When Ivan Ooze said the Spanish Inquisition, I instinctively said "No one expects a Spanish Inquisition!"
God I love when Doug makes fun of a movie I hate but I really love when he rips on a movie I love. He points out the fallacies that my fandom ignore
Same
Why does these old reviews look like a 90s VHS Tape?
Allow me to introduce you to an old friend of my by the name "Early 2000s Digital Cameras". Keep in mind, there was a time in which RUclips's maximum resolution was 360p.
Kimberly's nude photo powered me through puberty. Thank you Kimberly.
the opening sequence in this movie is very impressive cinematography
Movie turns 25 today!
Rented this a lot on vhs
Missed it in theaters
Some of the effects have a lot to be desired but the fight choreography is cool, happy the theme song was included, and Paul Freeman as Ivan Ooze is so much fun to watch
Up and down, up and down, up.. and dowwwnnn....
Left ear only audio I can't do it. I have like, a phobia of not being able to hear in both ears evenly through headphones lol
Director Bryan Spicer didn't see the actual series when he was hired. As such, he did a quick "fast-forwarding" run of the series, ensuring things would go wrong.
When the Ranger suits were developed, the helmets were designed without visors or mouth pieces, intending on the heroes showing fear or worry. It wasn't until a little while later that they realized that they were meant to be a fearless force to be reckoned with and they remolded the helmets to include those missing pieces.
Gabrielle Fitzpatrick, the original and final choice for Dulcea, was replaced partway by Mariska Hargitay. However, after filming her scenes, which included a training sequence, they felt she wasn't the right one for the job and they rehired Gabrielle, dumping all of those scenes.
The filming for the final scene where the team is thanked turned into a disaster area when local radio shows caught wind of it and tried to turn it into a "Meet the Power Rangers" contest.
Originally, Ivan Ooze was meant to mutate a bunch of rats for the Rangers to fight. However, the rat costumes proved to be too low budget even for the actual series, leading to the creation of the Ooze Men. However, the suits were spared and used in "The Return of the Green Ranger" three-parter.
Adam: I'm a frog.
Rocky: (Mockingly) Ribbit!
(Tommy, Billy, Aisha, and Kimberly all snicker with delight as Adam turns his head to his friends and glares at them as they abruptly stop.)
8:24 and most of all why did you only watch the first season?
7:45 It's... IT'S.... CHLICHÉ!!!!!!
5:09 that is the best reaction to anything. I love JYB
Bulk and Skull was the heart of the show man! They were in more episodes than anyone and occasionally showed honor in times of great peril.
It's so nostalgic, Power Rangers. But the movie...new villain. Kinda almost level Oozy. lol
He really should do a redo of this review. I think he was unfair to it for being corny. Corny is why we love it.
4:49 remember when he had this much hair? Holy shit
Everyone: My right ear is lonely

It was the 90's. Nothing made sense.
I remember watching this film as a kid and it freakin' rocked!
I was a dumb kid.
WHAT Nostalgia how could you not Be a power rangers Fan they where All the Rage back in The 90's
I was born in ‘94 but still loved power rangers despite it technically being “before my time”.
The first Critic video I ever saw. It was about 12 years ago and I played this video OVER AND OVER in one night. I never laughed harder in my life up until that point.
This is the very first fucking episode to feature his t shirt and red tie
Was feeling nostalgic so looked up season one. Still awesome in 2021. I actually miss the simple production of NC. And there's so many not PC jokes because this was before the world got soft and triggered. Good shit.
I miss this style too, especially because he doesn't have the other obnoxious actors doing obnoxious skits. I mean, NC is obnoxious about half the time, but at least he's funny every now and then. The skits just are flat out terrible.
@@FallouFitness_NattyEdition yeah back when there was some quality in nc
how can alpha is so gay? LOL, GETS ME EVERY TIME
I miss old NC as well..seriously I got in a bit late and wish he came back...now seriously I miss old days..still he made the worst reviews of one of my favorite shows THIS..yet his other reviews back were great! Zits and all...
Not gonna lie, it may be the kid in me but that resurrection scene gives me Nostalgia chills!
1:57 Hey look it's apocalypse.
Deadtales machinima I kind of thought that too.
I used to love this movie as a kid. I loved it so much, that I kept asking my mom to rent it for me at the movie store over again and again and again and again and again and again. Honestly thou, I don't know why my mom didn't just buy it for me.
But thes kids might not know what I am talking about when I say a movie store. You see, there was once a time when we could not purchase or rent a movie from the internet or a service. We had to go to this place called a "movie store," where we could all purchase or rent a movie. It was like a movie libery. What is a libery you ask kids? Well it is a place where we can go and get books. What's a book you ask? I don't know.
Im gonna be honest it was kinda nice to have a NC review whwere he's not doing a parody of the movie and just talking about it. But im glad he got a new camera
All I remember from power rangers was this movie because it was the only kid movie my grandparents had at there house and I watched it constantly
1:48 I don’t know why but I find this part really funny
