Trying to decide between a 2.5" or 4.5" Carli Suspension system for your Ford f-250 or f-350 truck? This video is exactly what you need. We put the two systems head to head on identical trucks to compare the actual height of the truck, looks and even ride quality. If you're trying to decide on which system is best for you, watch this video:

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THE ROOF HEIGHT!!!!
2.5 lift looks great. 4.5 lift looks a little goofy, makes towing a pain in the ass, and good luck getting snow off the roof in the winter up north.
Could be the color though.
Just purchased brand new 2020 f350 King ranch. Looking into Pintop system 4.5''. I'll be towing 10-14 thousand pounds. I'll get the full progressive leaf pack springs with long travel air bag system. Would that be enough to tow and maintain the rear height? Also any shop in Illinois?
Yep! That system with the Carli LT airbags will work great for towing and maintaining ride. Unfortunately we don’t have a great network of shops in your area, but we’re happy to work with anyone you choose!
Great video! Thank you for your hospitality over the phone as well. Looking forward to getting the kit installed.
I have 2013 f250 4x4. Had a leveling kit (spacer style) before and it was decent. After caster sleeves rode much better. Purchased a BD diesel track bar for alignment sakes.
Decided to stop counting pennies when it came to suspension and got Carli 2.5 coils first. Then bought bump stop brackets. Then bought sway bar brackets. Then found pair of add a leafs that were gently used. Lastly bought the fox commutter shocks for front and rear.
I can say it is totally worth it. Ride is much better. 45 psi up front and 40 rear. Products are well engineered and fabricated. Thicker steel than other lift kits. Just wish i had bought Carli trac bar first. Product support is also great. Thanks for vid
2011 f250 owner here! Love the level kit!!! Hands down, just my opinion. Coming off a 6” lift. My truck feels amazing!
I’m going to have my local truck lifting shop, contact you guys, I really want this set up for my truck but I also want to support my local small businesses
We’ll happily provide them the parts!
What are the wheel and tire specs including offset on the 4.5 inch lift truck? Thank you.
Hey Guys thank you for your great videos.......I have a 2020 white F-250 super duty 6.7 and just recently purchased the 5.5 Pin-top from Carli and is scheduled
To be installed from a good friend of mine that owns Toms 4x4 in Chattanooga Tn........I watched all of your Ford videos and was wondering what 12.5’ tire diameter would look and ride the best On the street .......and what wheel diameter and offset would keep say a 12.5” wheel tucked in as close as possible to try and maintain a non wide stance!
You guys rock! And thank you for all you do for the industry........Mark
Love the stance on the white truck! What offset did you use on the innov8 wheels?
What’s the best 4.5 system for a 2021 250 Superduty and what options need to be selected when ordering? I’m planning for 22x12 -44 offset and 37 1350 13.5 Toyo MT open country tires. Please assist
If you don’t mind, send us a email to sales@cjcoffroad.com since that’s the best way for us to help out with order info!
If the 2.5 and 4.5 both use the same wheel and tires and 37's would it be possible to squeeze 38 or 39's on the 4.5 with proper backspacing?
It's possible and we've done it several times. Check out the other videos on our channel.
Outstanding presentation with useful information!
Offset ability would be a little more helpful since you basically said nothing
If you're looking for info on what wheels and tires fit with what height, this is the video for you: ruclips.net/video/git35FpC-5o/видео.html
I have a 2019 F250 DIESEL CREW CAB SHORT BOX which kit will work better 2.5 OR 4.5 I will be installing a slide in camper for the weekends that weights about 3000 lbs and also be installing air bags.
I do drive the the truck around town and hardly go off road. I would like to install the 37x12.50 20" tires so i would like to know what life would be better looking and also the ride.
What if you plow with one??
Should I buy one if I’m just gonna daily drive it. Don’t have a trailer or anything to tow but maybe in the future I’ll have some toys to pull.
Offset on the white trucks wheels?
4.5” Backspacing!
Love the video guys!
Any chance we could get a video on the Rams 3'" vs 6" kits?
Next time we get a 6” build on a 03-12 truck we’ll try to make one! A lot of these videos just depend on what customer trucks come in!
I have a 2006 f250 diesel. Do yall have a 6 inch offroad lift?
The radius arm is kind of an eye sore on the 4.5 kit. Can I use a 3 or 4 link kit to replace the radius arm it comes with?
Not if you want to maintain performance and longevity! As long as you maintain the factory axle mounts, radius arms are the superior answer.
Which one rides better towing?
@CJC Off Road
A video on why your kits "are the best on the market" would be appreciated.
We've got plenty on our RUclips!
I was looking to upgrade to your springs for my truck. I’m running the 2.5 sst kit. My truck is a 2017 f350 with the extra heavy front spring package. I measured my truck and my cab height 84.5”. I’m also running the toyo mt’s 37x13.50R17 on Method wheels. Can I get a measurement from the top of axle to top of frame.
So if I do mostly highway driving but haul a 9K lb trailer and do some light off-roading what system is best? I don't want a huge lift. 2.5" is plenty.
The 2.5” Carli Commuter or Back Country with an add a pack rear leaf option would be a nice fit!
Is the 2.5 a leveling kit or does it lift it a bit more? & is this kit reversible if I ever want to sale it & go back stock. Same question for the 4.5 lift? ThankYou
This is a 2.5” system with the full rear leaf pack that adds 1” of height in the rear. Both of these systems are completely bolt on and make no permanent changes to the truck so you can go back to stock without issue!
I have a tow behind trailer. 7000 lbs. What bags would you recommend for the 2.5” if I was to go with the full leaf spring in rear. 2019 f250
We have a very specific set up that adapts firestone Ride-Rite bags to work with a Carli system. Give us a call and we can help out!
Is The 2.5" lift smoother than the factory suspension? I have a 2018 f250 platinum and dive at least 150 miles a day .
It’s night and day smoother!
Hi Cody, you mentioned you have the best kit on your truck. I’m looking to get a 2022 F-350 sometime next year. How much would I pay to get a 2.5 inch lift with all same parts as your truck?
Just order it from our website!
So whats your opinion on Carli vs BDS. Which one is better.
BDS is a lift kit company, Carli is a suspension system company. If your goal is daily ride quality improvement and off road capability, Carli is the only way to go.
My buddies about to get this 4.5" kit on his truck with 40's. Very much looking forward to seeing this badboy complete. You guys build some dope shit!
So Toby went to CJC after leaving the office.
Hey guys..ordered your 2.5 back country kit after watching your videos..what’s the offset in Cody’s truck? I’ve seen 4.5 but also 5” wanting to run 37x13.50x17 with minimal rub...thanks you guys are great!
Cody’s truck is 5” backspace and +12 offset 👍
Soo....
If the Tremor is already OEM lifted....
Do we take all whatever on it and put on all new...??
What do we put on my '21 F350 Lariat Tremor to further the suspension travel, soften the ride and get my 37s or 38s on....
The Tremor is essentially a 17-19 F-350 in terms of height and the "lift" is only because they lowered all the other Super Duty trucks for 2020+. Any of the systems we discuss still fit Tremors just fine!
@@CJCOffRoad soo do you didn't address a few of the things I wanted to know....
I'm trying to do business with you guys....
.aybe it would be better to call....
Can you give me a geeod number to get ahold of someone to discuss some things.... Thx
Those both look so nice
Would the Pintop 2.5” lift be a possible fit on a 2013 F250 6.2 gas truck?
Yes!
Happy to see Toby from The Office found a career he enjoys.
He’s looking so much happier these days isn’t he!
Just got a Carli 4.5 lift on my 2020 F250. My truck swerves/jerks very aggressively if I hit a bump or if there's a dip of some type in the road when on the interstate going 60 + mph. I tried to ignore it but if I don't grip the steering wheel for dear life, I believe I will literally swerve off the road or into another car in the next lane. Before complaining to my installer, what do you all recommend my tire pressure be set at? I have the Nitto ridge grapplers 37-inch tires on 18-inch factory rims. They are currently set by the installer at 63 fronts and 64 rears.
There is absolutely something seriously wrong with your install if that's how the truck handles, but we recommend no higher than 45 front and 40 rear when unloaded on 37s!
@@CJCOffRoad Thank you, all the other advice i received said to lower the psi too by doing the chalk test. I will start at your numbers and adjust downward if needed.
Hi Toby 🤓
What does the 2.5 lift change the towing capacity to?
It’s factory spec with the add a pack or factory leaf, or 15% reduced with the full replacement leaf. Carli gives three rear options for a reason!
How much trimming did you have to do to run the 37s? I found your video about trimming and it only mentioned removing some material off the back of the front fender.
That’s all that’s needed with the right wheel specs!
Lmao i have everything because i work here haha
What is the average cost to install the 2/12 Pintop kit?
For sure
Just brought f250 platinum diesel is there any Carli suspension kit for hard off road and some what of light prerunner and still have better factory ride quality I really wanna hit some jumps in my new truck.
The 4.5" pintop system will be your weapon of choice for that! It gives the truck some pretty impressive capability.
2 1/2
Do you guys recommend the Carli High mount steering Stabilizer when installing 37x20s on 2018 ford 250 also will I need to also install the low mount steering stabilizer now I see there is a option for a dual. Can you explain or make a video.
We use the high mount for Toyo MT tires, and the low mount for everything else! If you use your truck hard in the dirt, then install the high and low mount.
CJC Off Road cool thanks for the quick response I just ordered the high mount yesterday from your website and I will be going with the Toyo’s MTs
What is your recommendation for a F-350 Crew Cab, 4WD, short bed and Tremor package to lift it to take 38's AND keep the snow plow springs?
You're going to be limited to a leveling spacer in that application.
@@CJCOffRoad Front and rear? Have a part number or a link?
what's the tire configuration on both trucks?
They said 37"x 13.5" x 17"
Does Carli have specific alignment specs for the 2.5" kit? If so where can I find them?
We have all that under the tech section of our website! Carli also includes that info in the kit instructions.
I have a 2012 Ford F250 diesel and was thinking of the 2.5" starter system. The Carli website says it will fit 35" tires but the video says they have 37" tires. Will the 2.5" starter system for a 2012 Ford F250 fit 37" tires?
The 17+ trucks have more room for tire clearance than the 05-16s. You can fit 37s on the older Ford trucks, but it takes more trimming. That’s why Carli recommends 35s!
@@CJCOffRoad Thanks for the quick response
@@CJCOffRoad Why do the 17+ trucks have more room for tire clearance? Was there a fender change
Any rubbing or trimming for the 37's with the 2.5 kit?
Just minimal trimming and zero rub!
I have a F-250. This may sound silly but I’ve been watching videos & want to know if you can do a 4inch life with a 4.5 Carli ? Someone said you can adjust the height. Just wanted to ask you cause you seem like an expert
Carli systems are not height adjustable, but a half inch height increment is a pretty small difference!
CJC Off Road last question. With the 4.5 is it possible for wheels to be flush or somewhat flush ? Don’t like the poke out look that much. Ford f250
Have you ever shipped to Canada?
All the time!
I have a 2006 F-250 with a 2.0 spacer leveling kit with Bilstein shocks. It rides decent and handles pretty good while towing. But I know it can be improved. I’m interested in the Carli 2.5 kit. How does this kit ride with factory 20” wheel and 35” tires?
It rides way better than stock! The more sidewall the better, but it’s still light years ahead of the factory suspension no matter what wheels and tires you have on.
Did you ever end up getting their setup? I have an 06 as well and am looking into purchasing it
Do you know if the 2.5 will fit 24’s with 35X13.5’’ set up
Wheels are 24X12 -44 offset
It will if you’re okay with rubbing and heavy cutting? If you see someone rocking that set up on social media, just know that they accept rubbing when turning to get the look.
Not willing to deal with rubbing guess 4.5 it is
4.5!
I can’t afford either lift but, I’m acting like I’m deciding between the 2.5 and 4.5 lift.
So expensive tho! 8grand for a setup.. not including install.. crazy! I want this but thats a lot of money! my first 08 250 I spent 1200$ on the kit and installed myself.. now I got a 2020 tremor.. I want the best but not sure I want to spend 8k plus on the kit..
You get what you pay for!
Great now I want an alumiduty too haha.
Awesome trucks, awesome systems,
What could you do for a Ford F250 2004 for a 2.5 ride? It's my daily driver. I have a full size truck vault in the back, and I do some offroading.
Can’t wait to get the Carli 3.25” Back Country Kit for my 2018 Ram Cummins
This may sound crazy but I would like to know how to improve the ride of an 2018 F350 without lifting the truck?
Sadly there aren’t a lot of options. The 2.5 level is your best bet. A lot of the issue is that these trucks lack up travel from the factory, so the 2.5” height increase is actually just a byproduct of moving the axle farther away from the frame for more suspension travel. If Carli could achieve their ride quality goals with no lift they would do it!
