You are the ‘hip whisperer!’ I’ve had a TFL pinching pain for weeks- have tried everything- then my physical therapist recommended your channel. Instant relief! Wtf? Thank you so much!!!!
OMG!!! THIS WORKED WONDERS THE FIRST TIME!!! THANK YOU!!!!🙏🏽🙌🏾 update: I’ve been continuing this over the past week and it continues to improve my hips. I do this about every other day and try different angles and positions and it continues to improve my hip joints. This guy is the real deal!!!
Had this pain for about month and a half. Did this exercise once a day for two days and 80-90% of the pain is gone. Crazy how easy it was to get rid of the pain!
Yeah this was legit. I’ve tried so many different stretches to find some relief from this and this is the first thing that has worked and it worked instantly. Crazy. Thank you 🤙🏻
Amazing. I have been diagnosed with FAI (after x-ray). Pincing almost entirely gone in this position from doing this. Long road ahead, but after a week of various exercises i'm convinced that surgical options are BS.
After hobbling around for a few days and trying every stretch I could think of, this simple exercise helped immediately! You’ve got a new subscriber😀 Thank you!
Thank you so much! I noticed during yoga that there was something "in the way" of getting my knee close to my chest and I've been looking everywhere to find out what it is
I found this video while looking for pain relief from chronic SI Joint issues on one side. Recently it's gone into the hip on the same side and I definitely was feeling a pinch on the front hip/thigh when I pull it to my chest. This exercise immediately took the pain out of my hip, thigh and low back. What the heck?!
Haha I've been struggling with this in my right hip for a while now... first try of this and the knee goes all the way to the chest without the pinching! Thank you! New subscriber here
Amazing 🔥🔥🔥as far as I have researched to relax a muscle you should contract the opposite muscle so to relax hip flexor we need to contract glutes and hamstring.
Interesting. This worked better than expected. But also made apparent how much dysfunction is going on in related muscles. Feel a lot of stretch in the lower back/side of stomach (i.e., psoas). Also felt tight on the front of the straight leg. Wow, my hips are jacked from years of desk work. Doing the FAI Fix but the road forwards is long.
Thank you for the video! This is helping me with the pinch but only in the moment. An hour later, the pinch is back. How long before the pinching goes away using this method?
Hi! I’m new here and I’m on the hipinpingementfix as We speak. Have a question for you. I have the same problem in my right shoulder, same feeling. Can I use the same teknik for that area? /Eva
Just hurts more, I get a bad pinch in my right hip when I internal rote my leg and then lean forward, I’m only 16 and shouldn’t be having hip pains like this and it sucks and no one knows how to help me I’ve done acupuncture, massage therapy, pt and seen two doctors and still have the problem today
Very surprised how well this worked! Been having this pinch issue for 4 years, so a big thank you! I also get a pinch in my groin, when I squeeze me legs together, got a similar miracle exercise for that?
I can do itnif knee is more leaning outwards but as soon as lean knee straight or more towards body then the pinching and tightness is absolutely excruciating . Noone can see to release this or help and i stretch but it still doesn't release this severe tightmess and pinching pain in side lower groin and down upper inside leg
The second alternative pressning the knee towards the Chest with muscle tension, gave me some relief. I get a big tension in my lower obliques, hopefully this mixed with faifix is gonna make wonders. Any1 else having the same oblique feeling? Thanks again Matt n Shane.
How would you adapt this to someone who has hip and knee issue? Excerpting that much pressure on a flexed knee is a big no no for me. Thanks so much :)
Really liked the video about hip pain osteiartritis vs. Muscle strengthening. Can you do another with more detail. I DONT wanna have hip replacement surgery if i can avoid it!
Was this exercise supposed to be done to both legs or just to the leg that has the pinch sensation? Or was it the side where there was no pinch sensation?
I love your channel and I have pinching in the left hip generally and still have it after doing these exercises but I wonder if I should do them anyway to strengthen my hip muscles. I am a fit active person who was a marathon runner but quit after being diagnosed with CAM impingement. It hurts in the inner portion more. Always follow your channel to see what I can do to help it
I only get the pinching when I bring my knee to my chest and then externally rotate the hip. No pinching when the hip is in a neutral position. Any idea what my problem might be or how I can fix it?
Thanks. I finally get my hip replacement June 28th. the xray showed bone was white n stronger. I guess with ANV I have NO choice. who would have known a bone could die? God bless you
This stretch feels effective but I'm concerned the intense pain in performing the stretch might be a sign to not perform the stretch; my problem involves left hip- came on suddenly last year- used to be a 30-40/ mile runner but can no longer run- at best, a slow mile with pain and more pain afterwards (without giving my life story, I felt it necessary to give my question in proper context)
"And remember, pain sucks" 🤣🤣, GREAT!, i love it. I've had this pinch in my hips for years, hearing that bones were probably in the way of each other, or that the head of my femur and its bed were maybe damaged... And i always thought "wtf, i used to do that super easily 10 years ago...". I will definitely do this every day to see if the pinch disapears. Would this be a great warm up before going for a run? Seen I very often need to stop running because of that pinching pain appearing from the 4th km...?
Hi, I don't really understand the difference between the exercises or the language being used. I can't tell where the pain is coming from because I am quite detached from my body, I can just tell it is around my hip area and it hurts to walk. I have no problem pulling my knee into my chest. But when I try to push into my hands, that's when I have pain. What does this mean? Also, where does one start when learning about their body? Should I study an anatomy book? Thanks 🙏🏻

What about for hip rotation? I've tried the 90 90 stretch and others, but they all seem to put pressure on the joint instead of stretching
Ive dealt with hip pain during flexion my entire life, this exercise cured it immediately. Youre a genie bro
You are the ‘hip whisperer!’ I’ve had a TFL pinching pain for weeks- have tried everything- then my physical therapist recommended your channel. Instant relief! Wtf? Thank you so much!!!!

@@Uprighthealth thank you for all you do! Think outside the box is something we all need to do. It’s not cookie cutter info we need.

Great to hear!
Wow the tension and pinch went away the relief felt so good thank you
This is a miracle! First time doing the exercise and this is the first time I was able to bring my knees to chest. Thank you so much!!!

You finally fixed it!!! I have been trying to fix this for years!!! Thank you so much for this video!!!
This actually helped a lot more than I thought, thanks man

This right here stopped the pain almost immediately! 🤯🤯
my hip pain gone instantly, thankyou very much
Thank you so much - I can’t believe how well this worked I can’t wait to keep doing this.
Does this eventually get rid of the pinching altogether?
Push/pull against resistance (from a stretch) works to increase range and improve so many body imbalances
How can just two exercises help that much? Thank you so much!
I just want to thank u so much Matt ..the way u explain is amazing if only u guys can come to Canada for workshops
do a video on getting rid of knots in the calf with a lax ball. and restoring ankle dorsiflexion
Love all the hip mobility stuff you provide on your channel.
Happy to help!
This is awesome! Fixed sciatic nerve pinching from a herniated disc!
Wow! Totally going to use this on my clients! It works! Thank uoy
Amazing 🔥🔥🔥as far as I have researched to relax a muscle you should contract the opposite muscle so to relax hip flexor we need to contract glutes and hamstring.
I have to try these in the gym later today
Thank you matt ...:-) This has helped me a lot..From the moment i started to do this..Have a great day from England UK..:-)

Wow, great exercise, thank you!
Wow, first one that seems to work after searching for answers to problems with supine piriform stretch. Thanks for this, i think my hip will improve!
I wasn't expecting this to work as well as it did 😯
bro this is actually crazy how well it worked 😭
If you have FAI and Labral Tear and hip flexion makes it worse should I still do this?
Great exercise, helps my tight hips a lot, thank you
Thanks for the videos once again, Matt! Hip pain is ruining my life. Your videos give me hope lol
It managed to ruin my life for years, but there IS light at the end of the tunnel!
Wow. This works for me. I stopped after doing one side to comment. Thanks.
Thank you for the video! This is helping me with the pinch but only in the moment. An hour later, the pinch is back. How long before the pinching goes away using this method?

Dudee me too! Im literally doing acupuncture as well and nothing dude

Why is the question, does it work though?? Its relieved my pinch!! 🤔🤔 *subscribed*

That helped a lot thanks
Wow this was so good! So helpful for my hip! Thank you :)
So basically a weak TFL due to even weaker gluteus and dominant hamstrings causing sagital femural glide?
When pushing away my adductors seem to be flaring up, when pulling in top of my thigh where it meets the groin flares up like crazy.
What does it mean when my knees cannot touch me chest? Tight hips? Maybe weak hips? 😊
I only get the pinching when I bring my knee to my chest and then externally rotate the hip. No pinching when the hip is in a neutral position. Any idea what my problem might be or how I can fix it?
Same here please reply if you can thanks in advance
I think it's osteitis pubis thats what I got diagnosed for. Hope it will help someone
Wherr is part one,?
What about back in this position?
The first exercise: is that a good exercise for people who struggle to activate their flutes or/and abdominals? Seems to me like it could.
great exersise!!!!!
thank you so much
Can't wait to try this after work!
This genuinely worked for me :) thanks
Nice vid bro

Thanks. I finally get my hip replacement June 28th. the xray showed bone was white n stronger. I guess with ANV I have NO choice. who would have known a bone could die? God bless you

Should we do this daily until the pinch goes away?
Is this not the same as FAI
Wow. So much crap content out there on tight hip flexors...this is a game changer move! Thank you
Wow it works instantly

Look up the Athlean-X channel on RUclips and search through Jeff Cavaliere's videos on hip mobility and strengthening.
Oh my god! The pain was going away!
Helped almost instantly, thanks!

What if your problem is the hip bone. Doing this would result in a worst condition. Be careful with your advice.
What shoes are those? Lol
Those are Lems. :-)
How long and boring
