    The sole reason the Carver One was "killed off" after only 2 years of sales, is that Toyota reneged on the engine supply contract (it's a Daihatsu engine but the rights and tooling has been owned by Toyoya since the early-2000s). The car had been intrinsically designed for that engine and was so killed off, as the company had insufficient investment to redesign it to use a different powerplant. Toyota had made a worldwide, corporate decision not to allow their engines to be used in 3rd party vehicles any more (they made a single exception for the Aygo / C1 / 107 platform that uses the Toyota 1KRE engine. A real shame.

    It is a lot of money. 30K for something trying to clone the fun of a motorcycle, but not really properly touching on that in many ways as the bikers will clarify.
    Just adding supposed "safety" ( moreso comfort) but I think I'd rather a helmet than a head bouncing about inside of that !!
    It does bring car drivers into a closer feeling for what its like to drive something other than a car though which is good.

    • @911virgin8
      @911virgin8  2 года назад +2

      But it isn't a motorbike. If you want a motorbike then there are 874,257 different models to choose from. There is only one Carver. And before you check I made up the number of bikes but it's a pretty big number.
      This won't stop people riding bikes so no need to feel threatened. I felt it was more of a threat to video gamers than motorcyclists, it reminded me of playing Star Wars in the arcade back in '84.
      As for price, low volume equates to higher cost I'm afraid. The first plastic injection moulded phone case might cost £20,000 once design and injection tooling costs are accounted for. Subsequent units are 6 pence each to cover some ABS plastic and 4 seconds of the injection molding machine's time.
      I was very impressed with the overall build quality, it didn't feel like a kit car as I thought it would.

      The Carver is not a motorbike. It is a recumbent cabin trike if you will. As a piece of efficient personal transport it beats a car and is much more comfortable than a motorbike. It really should be they way to go. Personally speaking I want a Peraves E Monotracer as that is beautiful.

      @@henryf9175 OK glad to oblige, it's always good to set the record straight don't you think.
      Calling a motorcycle a car is daft, you may liken it to a car but it is still a motorcycle, this is not a motorcycle, so if you called it a motorcycle you would also be wrong,.
      Likewise calling a car a motorcycle is also daft, you may liken it to a motorcycle but it is still a car, this is not a car.
      Therefore as this is neither a motorcycle not a car, it must mean it is something else.
      That something else is called a trike, trike because it has 3 wheels, and special to this type of vehicle is a leaning trike, therefore it makes sense to call it what it is, and not pretend it is something that it is not.
      Cars go through specific testing to ensure they fall within certain levels of robustness, motorcycle go through different testing for the type of robustness they are permitted for safety, trikes have a different set of tests and do not have to have the same level of testing that a car does, but probably more than a motorcycle.
      Now do you see why it is important to note the difference?

Well............... what did we get for it in return ? ? ? ? English car brands not worth a damm thing ???? That stood on the side of the road more then actually driving ????
