How I get the most out of DopamineO workouts?

  • 1) Visualize yourself fighting through the band’s resistance. Very similar to the concept of driving through your shots or running through someone. Power through the motion to increase your strength, endurance, explosiveness etc.
    2) Keep constant tension in the band. This may be hard with certain movements at first but this will force you to constantly work and stretch your limits. If it’s difficult at first, start closer and little by little begin to step further away from the attachment point. Little progress is still progress at the end of the day.
    3) Be intentional with your workouts and know your goals. If your goal is to simply be active and move your body there’s an endless amount of exercises you can do with these bands. Or if you’re a wrestler and want to work on staying light on your feet, hit those agility drills or stance in motion. Whatever your goal is, your workout should reflect that.
    4) Play around with the band height. For snaps I have the band sitting higher (at least shoulder height) to replicate the downward pulling motion. While working on shots I’ll lower it (around waist to mid thigh) to practice keeping my hips in and to replicate the weight I’d have to drive slightly up and through (as if someone is sprawling).
    Lastly, the biggest challenge for me is finding my rhythm and stability. Don’t be afraid to start slow and feel out the exercise. Play around with the tension as well to where it’s challenging but not impossible to get through all your reps or desired time.
