For those that would like to support Jared, check out his motivational apparel brand Wellsywear; he currently stores the stock in the middle of his living room. It would be cool to see his business grow! :

Jared, I quit working out about 10 years ago because of severe depression. I'm 70 years old now and have been trying to get back into lifting weights again. Your story, courage and will power has given me all the motivation I need to get strong again. Thank you. You are a Great Soul.

One of my brother's friends suffered from Cystic Fibrosis. He was so miserable that he took his own life. The fact that Jared had CF AND lung cancer sounds like hell on earth. So happy that he's currently pulling through and finding gains in both life and muscle mass.

As a physician I am embarrassed by my profession and the ignorance that most docs have when it comes to strength training and exercise. Telling a kid with 35% lung function to do a bunch of cardio is absolutely ridiculous. By the grace of god Jared had the sense to pack on some muscle and gain some strength. And it probably saved his life. Stay strong my friend.

I am 75 years old with a single lung transplant. Most lung transplants last around 5 years, then you are gone. Jared's right. I am now 7 years out and in the gym 3 times a week. I just can't let my wife down!

I will always have immense respect for those who walk into a gym and try to better themselves when they're at a serious disadvantage. Overweight, very skinny, devastated by illness, these are the people we need to root for at the gym. And it saddens me to this day that some will make fun of these people.

This really hits home. My girlfriend has CF, and she's pushed through so much and I couldn't be more proud of her. She's the toughest girl I've ever met<3

I knew a kid with CF and we were all warned we'd lose him before he would grow to be an adult. He hit 16, still alive and started lifting. I don't keep in touch these days to know how he's doing but last time we did speak he was a 30 year old jacked, healthy man

Very inspiring. I can't imagine that mental battle, certainly puts my daily "woes" into perspective.

Great video and even greater transformation. I actually remember seeing that picture back a few years ago too, damn.

I am 14 years old with cystic fibrosis. I am 5 foot 11 and weigh 68kg. Seeing this video has made me grateful for every thing I am. My heart aches for the less fortunate like Jared and it just seems unfair that I am so lucky and so many others are not. Thank you Jared for making me a grateful better person.

I’m a 60 year old carrier of CF. I have heart issues and a cyst on my spine. But at one time I was a top athlete in powerlifting and martial arts. Your story has motivated me to get back in my gym and start lifting again and stop feeling sorry for myself. My doctors say just to lay around and take it easy, I’m not happy doing that. I’m happy when I’m lifting heavy things, that’s always been my main passion in life. To push myself beyond my limits. God bless you.

I lost one of my best friends from cystic fibrosis a few years ago. He wasn't supposed to live past 14, but we had him with us until he was 27. I still think about him all the time.

  • @ChelseaFan06

My uncle is my idol. He was born with cystic fibrosis also. Like you said the mucus clogged his airways and made it very hard for him to breathe, but he never let this stop him. He was always there for me wether it was me feeling sad or his last Christmas with me, he always made time to care for not only me, but other people. In 2018 he had a double long transplant. We were told the chances of him surviving were low, but we continued praying to god and fighting with him. Fortunately god protected him throughout the operation and he survived. We were told that he still has the disease and his immune system would attack his new lungs so he was put on antibiotics to weaken his immune system. Even though he was extremely prone to the flue and recently corona he always was out working on his cars, or visiting us. In about late august 2022 he was getting increasingly I’ll and we were in Florida for vacation. When we got back he was hospitalized. At first the doctors told us he would be fine, but then a couple weeks later he got worse.

I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis shortly before I turned 40. I have about 50% of my lung volume left now, but before medication it was only about 30%. I appreciate how hard Jared has done, because you have to understand that he hasn't been able to train as fully as a normal person. I myself should gain muscle mass so that I could withstand a possible future lung transplant surgery. It is the only help, medicines only slow down the progress of the disease. I have to pull myself together for the sake of myself and my children. The beginning is difficult because even going up the stairs takes all your strength. But as Jared showed, anything is possible if you want it.

I lost a friend to this shortly after we graduated. I remember him being in the hospital alot with pneumonia and stuff. He made the best of his life while he was here. That was almost 30 years ago and I still miss Ricky to this day. Awesome guy and even better friend to have.
