Great video! As for getting to your saved songs on the Looper X without bending down to toggle them, just use the function pedal, then “load loops”. You’ll see them in sets that you can bank up and down with. (If I understood your question at the end correctly.)

Are you having sync issues above 100bpm?

Hi Dave, great video! Love the channel, became a subscriber. Mind if i ask how exactly you are connecting the BB to your looper X (physically speaking)? I just got a BB (with its proprietary midi cable ) but i'm a bit confused about best way to connect it to the looping station. Thanks so much in advance! Keep on rocking

Hey dude. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You just need a midi cable to connect between the 2 units. For example, the Midi OUT of the Looper goes to the Midi IN of the Beatbuddy cable. & vice versa.
      Hope that helps.

Great video. Can I ask? Are you using the guitar amp and effects in the Looper X or do you have a separate guitar processor before the looper X?

I was using the HeadRush Pedalboard for the tones. I do mention that in the video, but not until near the end.
The inbuilt FX racks are pretty decent, personally though I think I’d still end up using something seperate for my tones.

Hi Dave! I’m hoping you can help me!
On my Looper X, midi sync is a mess. If I slave the Looper X to my drum machine, it chews up all my loops in bizarre ways. If I slave my drum machine to the Looper X, the drum machine has a fit, as if it’s receiving a shoddy clock.
With my RC600, everything works perfectly!
Did you have any issues achieving sync? Have you ever had any unexpected behaviour between the two devices? Have you tried any other drum machines, or just the beat buddy?
    Cheers!

Sorry dude I don’t remember. I only had this on loan for a few weeks.
I don’t think I had any really obvious problems..?
You obviously know what you’re doing, but just double check all your sync settings on both devices. But I’m with your train of thought, if it’s working with the RC600, in theory, Looper X should also work..
Sorry I’m no help. Best of luck!

@@DaveWebbMusicso I owe you a big thanks, because I figured out the issue with the help of your video!
If I follow your exact steps, then it works fine. Turns out the issue is, you can never clear all the tracks on the Looper X while the drum machine is running. If at any point all tracks are cleared, or you just cancel the first auto-record, any subsequent loops you record will be all messed up.
Leaving this comment here in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
      Cheers!

I guess I’m thinking, why do you need the beat buddy hooked up to the looper unless you plan to actually record the drum beat onto one of the tracks in the looper. Maybe for just the tempo to lock between the two. I can’t see any other advantage. I almost think it would be better to have a small mixer and have the looper out and the BB out go to the input of the mixer and then from the mixer out to the pa or sound system. Seems like that would be easier than having one pedal control the other.

In this setup the Beatbuddy goes straight to front of house. So its audio is separate from the Looper.
The only thing being controlled here is the midi clock aka tempo. If you don’t have it connected then tempo matching would be a nightmare and they would fall out of sync.
The advantage is to have a dynamic drum beat opposed to a simple loop, makes for a better performance, in my opinion.
