It has always bothered me that people STILL blame Daryl for Glenn's death. Yes technically if Daryl hadn't punched Negan in the heat of the moment Glenn would have lived, but for how long? Knowing how Glenn was it wouldn't have been long before Negan killed him anyway. Hell, Negan literally offed Spencer simply because of his duplicity. Glenn was strong just like Abraham and that was why Abraham died and why Negan chose Glenn. Even wounded Negan knew how strong Daryl was and that was why he took him. That was what he wanted, for the strong to become weak and broken and those he knew wouldn't break he killed. Also just a little cherry on top if you re-watch that scene you will see the pain and immediate guilt on Daryl's face after Negan first hit Glenn with the bat. Do y'all really think Daryl would've dealt that punch if he knew Glenn was the one who would've died? Even in the heat of the moment? Daryl probably thought Negan was gonna kill him and didn't care since Negan was taunting Rosita about Abraham. All in all Daryl was the one who pushed the limits but it wasn't his fault. It was Negan's. The only example I can think of right now is Dale's death. Do y'all blame Carl? I mean he led the walker back to the farm which ultimately killed Dale. Why blame him when it was the walker who killed Dale? Why blame Daryl when it was Negan who killed Glenn? End of rant lol.
Thank you! I completely agree. I absolutely hate how so many people, especially in this comment section, blame Daryl for what happened even though he was trying to protect and defend Rosita and not the guy who literally made the choice to kill Glenn when he didn't have to and the same one who also told Maggie that he regretted not having killed them all when he had the chance and yet somehow people act like Daryl is the one who swung the bat or told Negan to kill Glenn smh.
I agree with everything except that Carl didn't kill Dale. Carl absolutely did kill Dale lol. Yes I'm blaming the person who led the walking corpse back and not the walking corpse. It doesn't know or think anything. Only reason it was there was due to Carl playing with it and bringing it home 😢
Glenn was last mail holding the house together for all of them He was the literal glue of the group shows he even after so much time and stuff how he still has an impact on them….
Yeah kind of he needed to hear the other argument so he comes back with a stronger and firmer belief in his own. I 100% agree with Rick it was in fact Daryls and maggies doing that led to what happened to the group. Sure Ricks plan had flaws but it was the most logical and best plan they had. Negans fallen group was hostile because of Maggie and Daryl they hated that Maggie was treating them harshly because of what Negan did which lead some of them to believe that is was better with Negan because they lived a better life and on top of that they had to work for Maggie in building the bridge so they felt like salves doing a lot of work for only a tiny reward. Rick treated them well however he was angry but realized that it didn’t help him and that instead of killing them and making it worse he wanted to be the better person and honour his son by respecting his final wishes. Rick out of all of them wanted to kill Negan the most but didn’t want his sons death to be in vain Maggie doesn’t see it that way while sure it was bad for Negan to kill Glenn and leave her a pregnant widow compared to what Rick lost it’s not even close even if we exclude all of the other deaths except his sons death Rick still had it harder since that was his SON which is way harder to lose than a wife or husband. I know it sounds harsh or even cruel to say but nothing can compare to the loss of your child your partner means a lot to you but your child is your all.
I mean, Negan did beg Maggie to kill him so he could be with Lucille. So props to Rick for stressing him out to that point. Making him feel what the people he hurt felt after all that time.
looking back i realize how bad of a job the writers did with that episode, really wish they wouldve just gone with glenn's true comic book death or just killed abraham. in the most anticipated episode of a show ever they killed off two beloved characters and made us hate another, daryl, for being so dumb. no wonder that was the point most viewers dropped off
It's crazy how Glenn from The Walking Dead changed the whole show and brought the soul of it, but I felt bad for Negan because he had lots of regrets for his actions during the show, made lots of horrible choices, and was deeply flawed. He was just a regular guy who lost his wife to cancer and couldn't cope. It goes to show that people can become desperate when they think their lives are over. But killing Glenn was the most terrible thing he ever did.
Exactly, notice how whenever a person from the group went missing he was always the one looking for them. Sophia, Beth and when Denise got killed he wanted to avenge her. He's such a loyal friend and all he wants is the best for all of his friends. And he still feels guilt for Glenn,Beth and Hershel so he's extremely adamant on siding with Maggie and letting her get the one thing she wants AKA Negans death.
Alright a little opinion post: something that really frustrates me about this point Rick is selfish. Because he didn’t seem to actually UNDERSTAND how much damage Negan did (his decisions and physical choices) to everyone. Just in Rick’s group alone: he tortured Daryl, he killed Glenn and Abraham leaving Maggie’s child without a father, he got Sasha killed, Denise died, he did get Carl killed because Carl wouldn’t have been out alone which meant he wouldn’t have gotten bit, he basically destroyed Alexandria, his men killed all of Jadis’ people, and due to all his actions it started a war which got many innocent people killed along the way - and yet just because Carl said to basically let Negan live, Rick went with it If it were anyone else’s kid who suggested that, Rick wouldn’t have listened. But because it was Carl, Rick let Negan live - Rick and Michonne (in my opinion) turned agaisnt their group and dismissed their feelings because Carl thought otherwise and because Carl was ricks son, it meant what he wanted he got. I was pissed at Carl when he wrote those letters saying how “there has to be another way” becahse to me it seemed like he just completely forgot about how many people have died by the hands of Negan But I can’t express to anyone enough about how angry it made me that just because it was Carl, then it meant that they had to do what he wanted as his final wish - again, what about everyone else who have died What if Denise’s final wish was to kill Negan? What if Glenn’s final wish was for Maggie to shoot Negan as revenge? What if Abrahams final wish was that both rosita and Sasha completed their goal and assassinated Negan? All those wishes would’ve been ignored by Rick because “well Carl said this” it became this whole like ‘honour’ act
Negan living was for him to suffer, for Glenn, killing him would be too humane since it would allow him to be with his wife finally, Maggie saw that when she failed to execute him
"Your ass wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Glenn, you wouldn't have found Lori, you wouldn't have founr Carl, and you sure as fuck wouldn't have found any of us" "And Glenn would still be alive if it wasn't for you, and Hershel wouldn't be growing up without a father"
They couldn't just kill Negan because the whole purpose was to get back to that sort of normal life. If they were able to just decide someone's fate like that, then it would be justified for someone else to do the same to them. You can't just kill someone for killing your people when you've killed their people too. That doesnt solve anything.

This is why I love this show so much. They are both right in their own reasons but there is flaws in both of their arguments. You can't forget that Daryl's guilt over punching Negan which led to Negan killing Glenn is a big reason why Daryl sympathizes with Maggie.

This scene was so powerful one of best between Daryl and Rick.
Bound they have between them is crazy.
People need to realise without negan they would of all died to the Whisperers. How important he was with the commonwealth. Also him and daryl made peace and nodded to each other in the final. Daryl realised rick was right the whole time.
Darryl was in so much pain flashes of the old pre-apocalypse Darryl were coming out. Rick didn’t take what he was saying too personal because he knew.
Rick looking back like ”brother, Glenn would be alive if it wasn’t for YOU!”

He was the literal glue of the group shows he even after so much time and stuff how he still has an impact on them….
One of their best talks… Daryl was the other half of Rick. He needed him in his ear.
@@mohsinshah1142but Glenn got brutally killed in front of Maggie… rick saw carls bit only

Honestly the six years in captivity seemed to break Negan down just a bit and that was pretty satisfying not gonna lie
How was that satisfying watching the only good character suffering in this dogshit show
If only we had savage Rick here. "And Glenn would be alive if it wasn't for you"
It's crazy how Glenn from The Walking Dead changed the whole show and brought the soul of it, but I felt bad for Negan because he had lots of regrets for his actions during the show, made lots of horrible choices, and was deeply flawed. He was just a regular guy who lost his wife to cancer and couldn't cope. It goes to show that people can become desperate when they think their lives are over. But killing Glenn was the most terrible thing he ever did.

Its actually crazy how Daryl is the one who cares about everyone the most
Really? Then why he got glenn killed and rick exploded the bridge?
Exactly, notice how whenever a person from the group went missing he was always the one looking for them. Sophia, Beth and when Denise got killed he wanted to avenge her. He's such a loyal friend and all he wants is the best for all of his friends. And he still feels guilt for Glenn,Beth and Hershel so he's extremely adamant on siding with Maggie and letting her get the one thing she wants AKA Negans death.
I'm so glad Daryl was wrong in this argument. Everything did work out ❤ Rick made the righteous choice
Maggie started the Conflict between Rick & Daryl about Negan.
This is such a good scene
Superb writing and acting as always.
Daryl is the one who got glenn killed
Alright a little opinion post: something that really frustrates me about this point
Rick is selfish. Because he didn’t seem to actually UNDERSTAND how much damage Negan did (his decisions and physical choices) to everyone. Just in Rick’s group alone: he tortured Daryl, he killed Glenn and Abraham leaving Maggie’s child without a father, he got Sasha killed, Denise died, he did get Carl killed because Carl wouldn’t have been out alone which meant he wouldn’t have gotten bit, he basically destroyed Alexandria, his men killed all of Jadis’ people, and due to all his actions it started a war which got many innocent people killed along the way - and yet just because Carl said to basically let Negan live, Rick went with it
If it were anyone else’s kid who suggested that, Rick wouldn’t have listened. But because it was Carl, Rick let Negan live - Rick and Michonne (in my opinion) turned agaisnt their group and dismissed their feelings because Carl thought otherwise and because Carl was ricks son, it meant what he wanted he got.
I was pissed at Carl when he wrote those letters saying how “there has to be another way” becahse to me it seemed like he just completely forgot about how many people have died by the hands of Negan
But I can’t express to anyone enough about how angry it made me that just because it was Carl, then it meant that they had to do what he wanted as his final wish - again, what about everyone else who have died
What if Denise’s final wish was to kill Negan? What if Glenn’s final wish was for Maggie to shoot Negan as revenge? What if Abrahams final wish was that both rosita and Sasha completed their goal and assassinated Negan? All those wishes would’ve been ignored by Rick because “well Carl said this” it became this whole like ‘honour’ act
Stop yapping girl.

The face Rick made 😂 " SO IM THE REASON GLENN IS DEAD👀" but he let that one go
Those actors are 🔥
Negan living was for him to suffer, for Glenn, killing him would be too humane since it would allow him to be with his wife finally, Maggie saw that when she failed to execute him
"Your ass wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Glenn, you wouldn't have found Lori, you wouldn't have founr Carl, and you sure as fuck wouldn't have found any of us"
"And Glenn would still be alive if it wasn't for you, and Hershel wouldn't be growing up without a father"
I haven't tought much about glenn, buthe played a big role in the show and i like how its shown
They couldn't just kill Negan because the whole purpose was to get back to that sort of normal life. If they were able to just decide someone's fate like that, then it would be justified for someone else to do the same to them. You can't just kill someone for killing your people when you've killed their people too. That doesnt solve anything.

Daryl, the character that you will loose if you argument or fight against him.Thats what we talk about when we say 'Perfect Character'
I like the song in the background too
This is why I love this show so much. They are both right in their own reasons but there is flaws in both of their arguments. Daryl is holding onto revenge and I don’t blame him while Rick is delusional about his vision of peace with his people and the savior because of his son’s dying for for this. But in the end I agree with darly you can’t force people to be in your views of the way you see the world. The savior will eventually break out and rebel against you (Rick) aka you will be no better than negan
Delusional is a rather harsh word, he was rather successful at keeping peace while he was around so he did have something.
