I know something about that season and up until they left them prison was awesome. I think it has something to do with a certain cinematographer leaving the show and too many people trying to decide where the show should go after the initial success.

This series was like an old friend that you grew up with, had your fair share of good and bad times. But at some point you drifted, years later you bump into them and all the nostalgia comes flooding in. Felt this way watching this recap, thank you for this recap.
I watched up to season 7 and stopped, years passed and I honestly couldn't be bother to watch anymore but I was still interested in where it went so re cap it is. I was just kind of mad how long it went and how its just the same thing over and over, conflict here, conflict there, I was just tired of it all. There wasn't any real plot growth or world building progression. They wasted so much time on these stupid conflicts and after seeing the full recap after season 7, I'm glad I didn't continue to waste my time. The show will always have a special place in my heart, that being nostalgia and my enjoyment of the show, its just I really cant be bothered to watch anymore of it since its the same story over and over again, it like the writers didn't know you can still have conflicts that don't make a show repetitive.
Rewatched the whole show and 100% felt this. It has its moments of struggle but the show imo is far too overhated. The fact season 9 is actually good and considered by a fair few as a top tier season is pretty amazing considering the show had been running so long and had been considered fallen off by then.
Had the show continued, I’m pretty sure I knew how they were going to have to take it. They would have to meet a group of new survivors where things initially seem really good, but then they find something out that is really bad and that causes conflict. This conflict would divide the characters we know along with the new characters. At one point, everyone would realize that one person was orchestrating all the bad things, so they kill that guy and his men and move on. They would then have to meet a group of new survivors where things initially seem really good, but then they find something out that is really bad and that causes conflict. Didn't stop watching because of Glenn's death but that episode was really hard to watch. My complaint is they went lgbtq right after, and they went hard got scared and started rewinding the dark, grittyness this show should be.
What this series shows is that Rick's group has been responsible for the destruction of countless post-apocalyptic societies. Good or bad, they all end up gone.
Here’s an explanation (or small details you miss) for those of you who are watching this instead of watching the show: 1.) Shane’s turning is when they realize that everyone has the virus in them. 2.) The little girl who Carol killed believed that zombies were just another form of people and that she could be friends with them. She killed her sister to prove to her that belief. Carol realized that she could never teach her otherwise and killed her. 3.) Go and watch Carol save everyone from Terminus. She’s a badass, and worth a watch. 4. Daryl and Beth form a wholesome bond. She’s the one who teaches him that when you white smoke it means the fire is out, and black smoke means it’s still going. That’s helpful for Daryl in the future. 5. Carol is a badass throughout the entire series. Just wanted to make sure you knew that. 6. On Sasha killing herself. Sasha and Abraham were a couple, so she especially hated Negan. Sasha takes a suicide pill soon after she’s put into the casket by Negan. She’s listening to Donny Hathaway’s song “Someday we’ll be free” while she dies. 7. Negan and Judith’s relationship is actually wholesome. 8. The one thing op did here that should have been done differently is when we first encounter the Whisperers. A horde of zombies walk past a group of hiding humans when the humans start to hear what they think are zombies talking to each other. That’s how that season ends. So as watchers we have months to speculate. Are the zombies becoming intelligent? 9. Maggie and Negan’s relationship is heartbreaking because we all know Negan has completely changed, and is good now, but it’s not just the fact that he killed Glenn, it was the brutal manner in which he killed him that Maggie rightfully can’t get over. And it’s sad because all Negan wants is to prove himself, but even he knows Maggie could never forgive him. 10. That’s pretty much it. Great video.
The show peaked at the prison season. Negan is definitely the show's most well-written antagonist, but honestly the show ended after the death of The Governor. Fitting that a show centered around the concept of zombies became one itself. It was bitten at the end of season 4. Proceeded to limp on until Glen's death which ultimately killed the show itself, but continued on as a zombie for 4 more seasons as nothing more than a former shell of what it once was.
nah the show peaked from when the governor destroyed the prison to when the group was on the road for a season and a half and to when they first got to Alexandria. Everything in season 3 after Lori’s death was good but not amazing. Maybe Merle’s death too
As someone who dropped off this series shortly after Rick left, because it didn't seem to be going anywhere, this is fantastic - it's like giving up on a book you were bored of, but having someone tell you what happened anyway just to cure your mild curiosity. Seems the series just repeated its beats with different communities, and different villains with dorky names. The zombies evolving sounded like an interesting premise, but they only used it right at the end? What a shame
"repeated its beats with different communities" (?) I strongly suggest you read human history. This is the path of development of humanity and civilization. So the series shows us how their civilization was establised. This is the real nature of mankind.
@@maskelibalon I "strongly suggest" you reread your own comment. If the show is mimicking how human civilisation developed by repeating the same trial and error situation over and over until they get it right, then they are literally repeating the 'beats' of previous plots in previous seasons now aren't they. What I was saying was that after several seasons of this, I got bored of the formula, and that's why I tuned out
All I know is Negan and Maggie are getting a spin off series that takes place in NYC, and Andrew Lincoln is contractually obligated to return to walking dead in some for or function for a movie or something of the like. So there is potential to continue the story and have the walkers evolve, but I doubt they’ll ever capture what made the first couple seasons so good
All the actors and producers watching this completely shocked and sad that some random guy managed to explain their 11 years of hard work and the actors hard work explaining the story is useless bc of this guy: (JOKE)
I feel like after Eugene pulled the 1000 IQ megamind move against negan. He became one of the most important and respected characters to date. He absolutely redeemed himself
His character was annoying and unbearable until that misfire scene. What an absolute genius. I don't know how that's even possible, but regardless it was an awesome idea.
Let's face it Eugene should have been dead long before he ever met Negan. He was a coward who deserved nothing more to be eaten by a hoard. The fact the he even made it to the end is shocking, but for him to be one of the driving forces in the (let's face it shitty) ending of the series is just a nonsense move. It doesnt make any sense and never will. The whole Eugene story line is bullshit and a huge cop out. Let's make the "underdog" the hero. He wasnt an underdog. Let's call it like it is. A cop out ending that should have been much better than it actually was. Such a disappointment.
I stopped watching in season 7, but the love I had for this show. I binged season 1 in a single night. I started watching with my sister as a weekend thing. It helped us bond. After that, we both kind of checked in every sunday for a recap, but both of us eventually moved onto other shows.
Was it though? Not only was that the exact way that Glenn died in the comics, but the show gave everyone almost 7 months to prepare for that scene to finish and everyone knew Glenn was there.
@@BWynCmbs420you’re assuming most people read the comics. I didn’t even know it was based on a comic until Glenn’s death. Also the show isn’t 1:1 with the comic. They switch things up all the time. They could have let Glenn live if they’re wanted. But his death is important to Negan and Maggie’s character development.
@@allieboy181 I’m not assuming that most people read the comics, and I know they aren’t 1:1 either or else Rick would only have one hand. That’s why I went out of my way to also mention the 7 months that people had to prepare themselves for who Negan was going to kill… and Glenn was there for that… literally everyone had 7 months to prepare themselves for a death scene and it’s almost like they prepared themselves for any death besides Glenn’s. It was far from being unexpected, no matter who died in the scene because we all had 7 whole months to prepare ourselves for it.
It’s so crazy how after the prison, it led to some of the best solo episodes ever, yet as a whole it failed to deliver. If they took all the solo episodes and split the episodes up evenly story wise, it could’ve kept the attention of the audience better and not feel like entire seasons worth of filler
@@demetriush21 it shouldn’t of had episodes solely focused around individual or pairs of characters. I think it could of been better if we saw a little bit of every character in each episode up until they met up at sanctuary instead of how it was done
Basically they have 6-8 eps worth of story every year and rest is pure hollow filler. Hence why S1 was the best cos it was tight and tension filled due to less stretching it out etc.
Solid recap my dude. I stopped watching/enjoying the show many years ago, but there was always a "I wonder what's going on there" in the back of my head, just not enough to actually watch it. This was pretty awesome and helped hush that pondering.
I was actually not upset by the way it ended. I thought it was fitting and it ended on a positive note. That last scene with Maggie and Negan was BRILLIANTLY written.
How do you end a show about a post apocalyptic world. You can’t there will always be new threats. What they did gives us was a happy ending everyone seemed at peace Alexandrea was rebuilt for like the 5th time lol and for now they had no threats on them. But I did like seeing Rick at the end even if it was only like 2 minutes

That’s not what the show is about .. if you’re not watching you’re not paying attention at all. It’s about people and how they change with their environment. How they grow into completely different people (sometimes walkers) lol but no for real it’s about the relationships, making hard judgement calls that depend on life or death or between life & deal th situations, also how to read a person, how to learn from your enemies, how to SURVIVE AN APOCALYPSE! Amazing story lines and I couldn’t get enough personally… the characters that they found to play all these rolls over the years is what kept it SO amazing!! I love all the spin/offs too! Who would have ever thought a show would ever take off like this one did! I don’t think even after one ☝🏽 season did the actors themselves even believe that this show could ever go so far to become this popular amongst so many viewers.. there are so many fans now! That’s why I’m typing this right now! #I❤AMC for bringing this show to us through the comic books and the dark horror book series!!
The writers from the novels and comics could not have been any better I thought but to see how they wrote this from that and found such amazing characters to play these rolls and for these rolls to go on this long? Nobody not even the actors imagined this would carry on even after one season I’m sure… they had no idea how far it would go! We watched kids grow up on this show (Carl) for example he was so young and little in the beginning and his growth as an actor was so transformative to see him evolve into a young man! Wow! Just seeing Daryl grow the way he had! (Norman Reedus) Just Wow!! Carol even (Melissa McBride) and them finding all the other actors … just such an incredible series!! Made this decade for me as I love creative writing and good television 📺! I’m a fan for life!!
You clearly don't understand anything about the show. That's not how it went down at all. They were destroying villain groups, not finding good communities and ruining them in an endless cycle
I am certain that by this many years into a zombie outbreak there absolutely wouldn't be enough zombies left to make the herd the whisperer gather to threaten everyone with. The series literally shows them rotting and eventually they'd have their brains rot away too there's no way there can be that many left from the first wave.
@@Robertedwinhouse38 yeah man me too, I often skip a bit when the guy just goes liek "in this video bla bla bla bla bla bla" like mannn I red the title lol
ive been a twd fan for maybe 7 or 8 years, and this may be my favorite recap-style video of the series that i've seen so far, the way you manage to relate what happened in each season with such accurracy even if you miss details is satisfactory, and the way you told some relationships (cofcof daryl and connie, daryl and carol) waa great since you didn't assume mostly false romantic relationships and instead went by the obvious interactions between characters
Time flies so fast. I remember watching episode 1 on its launch night as a young kid scrolling channels and see a zombies “movie”. Little did I know, that 1 hour premier was a series! I watched the first episode as a movie and when I saw that next week there would be another episode I was hooked. Me and my mom watched ep 2 live together. I never missed an episode since. This was over a decade long of memories made and great story telling that got overshadowed by negative criticism
@@wolfypilot the show was becoming an over dramatized soap opera with zombies until Negan revived it. Didn’t help the soap opera part but man I loved Negan and was rooting for him.
Thank you for coming to our middle school for career day, the tips you left were very informative+ this is a really good channel I watched this before I watched season 9 of the walking dead, have a glorious day.
The original community will always find their families back :) Rick,Daryl,Michonne,Carol,Maggie, and all of the OG is always heart touching amazing at the same time
This was one of the shows that my dad and I watched religiously together. We sadly stopped watching together after season 6 but we will hopefully be able to watch the entire show together again someday.
Small change that makes a world of difference: at 5:00 you say that the gunshot alerts the dead and draws them to the farm. The dead shown there are the same ones that saw the helicopter in the city early on in the series. They walked for dozens/hundreds of miles in a straight line, never deviating from that path, because they saw a helicopter once. It confused me earlier on so I had to check the wiki and when I learned that was the cause of them fleeing the safety of the farm it left a bad taste in my mouth. If such a stupid reason was in s2 then I knew they could just write out any safe haven they find further on [like the first Alexandria]. Edit: Wow the show really did devolve into just bouncing from one evil paramilitary group to another til the show ended.
Although the show lost it spark at one point, idk what it is, but every season has stuck with me, I love all 11 seasons, I didn’t even know the show had ended all the way back in 2022, so I decided to binge it all the way through back in June/July, I’m glad I did. my mama used to watch TWD when I was younger, the show used to scare me, but watching something from my childhood, and actually understanding every that’s happening as an teen, hits different
I decided to finally sit down and watch this show from start to finish. You can def feel the decline over the many seasons sadly. Nothing compares to the first two seasons imo.
Season 1 good season 2 it fell flat season 3 great season 4 started to fall flat again season 5 very flat season 6 started to feel good again season 7 and 8 great but that’s my opinion season 9 fell flat after Rick left season 10 very flat season 11 good. That’s just my opinion from watching the entire show
IIRC Carol is the only one still alive from the original group, unless you count Judith. Maybe Rick, if he ever gets back from his vacation. Also, Season 3 Milton invented the bite proof jacket, everyone immediately forgot about it up until we meet the Roleplaying group hanging around the Kingdom.
So glad this Chanel exists I keep up with walking dead on Netflix like many others and this recap helps so much because Netflix releases the seasons years apart

Alexandria could have been a great ending to TWD at season 5. Beth (and her B plot line and death) could have wrapped up sooner so more of the season could have been about the struggles of integrating. Then the W guys attack and Rick and the group prove their worth and become accepted. B roll of everyone living together and Rick making a small speech about finding a place to be happy. Boom, run credits
To point out Rosita didn't die in the Commonwealth horde. Luke got bit had to get his leg amputated and died from the blood loss, his girlfriend Jules got ripped apart by zombies and Rosita survived falling only to wind up getting bitten on her shoulder and passed away after final moments with everyone in Alexandria once the estates are blown up and the conflict with the Commonwealth is officially ended. Everything with Ezekiel taking over as leader of the common wealth and everyone saying their lasts words to each all happened after Rosita's death which there is a time skip between Rosita's death and everything else involving the fates of the character roughly two years after
Tyrese & Sasha and their group actually were chased off by Rick at first as he had gone a little mad. They ended up at Woodbury but later switched when The Governor showed he was crazy and wanted to kill Rick’s group
I was a major dedicated TWD fan and watched every season religiiously. The characters almost felt like family with how close we get to them and I'll have such a love and appreciation for this show. This is amazing, thank you!!
😢The only thing I’d say you missed that I would have like to see out in is the character who was an alcoholic army Vet named Bob. Terminus leader Gerath captured bob, after the group destroyed and escaped Terminus, along with a few others that escaped with Gerath and they cut off bob’s leg, cook it and eat it. Bob then reveals that he has been bitten and says the meat is tainted. I just thought Bob would be an honorable mention. I stopped religiously watching after Abraham and Glen died. Then I’d wait till the end of the season and just binged watch at the end of the season. But after Carl died I completely stopped watching. Just seeing little clips here and there. So this video is fucking awesome🖤💕🖤
Godddd my friends and I used to randomly shriek "TAINTED MEAT! TAAAAAINTED MEEEEEAT!" for a good laugh. I still think about it all the time. Bob went out a hero.
Thanks so much!! I quit watching this show shortly after season 7. I recently heard it just ended and was suprised it was still on. Crazy to remember how popular this show was and how everyone quit watching around 2017.
Wow. This show was a roller coaster during the time I stopped watching it (when they were captured by the cannibals in Terminus) and it evidently remained a roller coaster but with more twists and turns. It’s hard to imagine that it went on for this long despite being so repetitive. I was still in my early 20’s when I stopped watching it nearly 10 years ago. How time flies
I also stopped watching during the Terminus bit. It’s so funny that I could enjoy a show about zombies for years, but the second people were eating other people, it was too much for me (specific phobia for me). Glad to learn how the story progressed.
I would have liked to see more of the downfall, the period of Rick´s coma, some background on the characters, how they survived the initial chaos. Mind you we got a wee bit of that in Fear....but say a storyline of a Pentagon or White House employee.
I started watching this show when I was pretty young, probably in middle school. I fell in love with it and I was a diehard fan for the following years. The first ever merch I ever bought from my first ever con was a tshirt with the Don't Dead, Open Inside doors, I must've been about 15. I think I quit the show twice, once after Andrea died, then again after season 5. I've always wanted to go back and finish watching, but the more I waited, the longer the show got, and the worse the reviews. I saw all the hype about Negan and it got me curious, but to this day I still haven't had the drive to finish watching it, I've always felt like it would ruin my good memories of it. Maybe I'll give it a go after I finish my degree paper, I'm 26 now. Crazy to see how many people in the comments had a similar experience.
Rosita didn't die that same time that Luke did. Jules did. Rosita was bit when they died and died later after the hoard of the dead was destroyed. Overall I really like this recap of the series 🙌
I gave up watching after Glenn, picked up again a few years later, forgot to watch after the heads on spikes thing, and finally just finished and am glad to see this. You summed it up perfectly. The spin-offs are: Fear The Walking Dead, new one called Daryl Dixon & a new one called Rick & Michonne.
Ty mate. With all the spin offs I wanted a recap without having to watch dodgy season again. So you explained all the important stuff and I remember it again. Ty
What an incredible story and journey its been, in the show and real life. I will always feel bitter sweetness for this show, started watching the night it premiered, 24 now
Thanks for summary. I dropped out a season 5. This shows that the magic number for this series was 6 seasons. After that it was the same old plot. Group starts out okay, group is threatened by a rival. Someone betrays the main group. Enemies become friends, friends become enemies, rinse wash repeat. Nothing really new or interesting. Nothing against the actors, but the writers clearly ran out of ideas, and just rehashed the old tried and true story trope.
@@langdonledwig3734 I might encourage you to watch it over again. You'll notice that most of the show just consists of Rick and his group encountering villainous group after villainous group and triumphing over them with little to no casualties. It's extremely formulaic, incredibly unrealistic, boring, and dumb. It's aggravating and insulting to watch. No wonder Rick and his asshole group members always make pretty egotistical statements when it comes to fighting a new group; they're all nonsensically overpowered. It takes away any tension and makes the show incredibly predictable and lame throughout. It's practically always a dull moment, and I eventually had enough. Looking over the few seasons I missed, not to my surprise, I found I didn't miss much. The only saving grace is that I'm not really disappointed anymore; I lost most of my emotion for it. I figured it was going to remain a boring slog, and I was right. But yeah, some people are okay with that. I just see past it, and am extremely opposed to that kind of garbage. Not only is it bad writing, but it's not even fun.
The more incredible thing about the walking dead is that it managed to finish with a satisfactory ending, few series managed to go for so long and have that.
i really enjoyed the show as a kid when me and my dad would watch it together. but once Glenn died i couldn't be bothered i don't know why i just really enjoyed Glenn and everything he was one of the best characters along with dale, rick, and Shane.
6:54 i feel like cutting out rick going back in the prison, seeing his wife body literally gone, and a walker next to that blood with a gut so big it couldn’t even move, seeing that you know i think would drive anyone insane, for a little while at least.
I think one of my favorite parts of the series was at the end when the walkers were evolving but that didn't really get enough screen time. Also, I would have liked to see someone survive a bite without being amputated or even a half walker-half human type thing which almost happened when walkers started using tools and climbing. I just rewatched the series and finished it last night and I was kinda left a little unsatisfied with the ending. It felt rushed and open ended, which after 11 seasons it shouldn't be imo. Although I know that there are spinoffs coming but still. The hardest deaths that made me ugly cry were Glen and Carl. I remember watching both, for the first time, vividly.
Carl names the baby Judith after a teacher he had. Merle really makes me like him for what he does with the Guv. Most important part you missed. JOE!! When Rick bites his throat. Rick said they messed with the wrong people because of him having the confidence to bite Joe so that they would survive. They go back to Noah's community to honour Beth as she was going to accompany him. While there Noah's twin brothers are zombies and bite Tyreese. After losing so many they are in a barn A huge storm comes and they are saved from a herd by a storm.
Having watched all 11 seasons, i can see why people dropped the series, but personally besides the ridiculously obvious plot armor at times, or over the top shit, it really was a good series, very excited to see how the spin off goes
The Walking Dead was so well thought out at the human relation level. They did such an excellent job exploring how they thought human would interact in an apocalyptic setting and how relationships would evolve over time. However, and this is a huge problem, you really only need to watch 2-4 episodes a season and youll get the entire story that was told for a whole season. The very definition of all filler, no thriller (or in this case, little thriller) Although I am very happy to now refer to Andrew Lincoln as Rick from TWD. Especially during my wife's annual viewing of love actually
People who stopped after Glenn's death: Idk why you did it, because he died in the comics as well. But imo you did the right thing because in your version of TWD Carl is still alive.
We knew he was gonna die since spoilers were everywhere back then but nothing prepared me and my sister for that episode lol we stopped and only came back to watch this recap years later because I wanted to know how it ended.
Just now remembering the nostalgic intro song, and how a little kid from europe waited until 3 AM to watch the show whilst not caring that i'd be insanely tired in shool the same day. Good times for sure.
I stopped watching some time ago, then when SNL spoof went viral, I checked it out again. One thing that really irked me is the Zombies/Walkers have shown to deteriorate over time. Unless a fresh batch of humans kept dying There should be no problem by now. The first couple of seasons had us all on the edge of our seat. What a memory!

This series was like an old friend that you grew up with, had your fair share of good and bad times. But at some point you drifted, years later you bump into them and all the nostalgia comes flooding in. Felt this way watching this recap, thank you for this recap.

Accurate
Can we all appreciate how Recap made a 40 minute video without ads. Thank you.

Morally generous but a great job😊
Had the show continued, I’m pretty sure I knew how they were going to have to take it. They would have to meet a group of new survivors where things initially seem really good, but then they find something out that is really bad and that causes conflict. This conflict would divide the characters we know along with the new characters. At one point, everyone would realize that one person was orchestrating all the bad things, so they kill that guy and his men and move on. Don’t forget not double tapping the bad guy once he’s down only for them to come back once again and fight them.

It’s interesting to see how many people stopped watching after Glenn. I was one of those people. Interesting to see how the show continued on after.
Just like Troy Barnes from Community, Glenn was the charm of the show.
Having glenns death fake out like 4 episodes earlier really pissed alot of people off
It’s ok but it gets worse and worse more woke stuff repetitive and sometimes put me to sleep
Didn't stop watching because of Glenn's death but that episode was really hard to watch. My complaint is they went lgbtq right after, and they went hard got scared and started rewinding the dark, grittyness this show should be.
Season 10 was by far the best season and intrestengly Rick was not even in that season!
What this series shows is that Rick's group has been responsible for the destruction of countless post-apocalyptic societies. Good or bad, they all end up gone.
Not necessarily
None of the groups were good.
Lol my squad be fucking shit up. There’s a popular theory that our people are actually the villains of this story.
Are we... the bad guys?
@@HarishNarayanan lmfao
Here’s an explanation (or small details you miss) for those of you who are watching this instead of watching the show:
1.) Shane’s turning is when they realize that everyone has the virus in them.
Great video.
your number 1 is wrong... the find out everyone has the virus and will turn when the go to the cdc and the depressed suicidal doctor tells them.
@ko7577If you were forced to do something all day every day for like 10-15 years and weren’t able to do it with ur eyes closed I’d be concerned
It peaked in series 5
S1-9 were perfect
nah the show peaked from when the governor destroyed the prison to when the group was on the road for a season and a half and to when they first got to Alexandria.
Show was still good after Rick.
The whisperers war after Rick is crazy
@@maskelibalon I "strongly suggest" you reread your own comment. If the show is mimicking how human civilisation developed by repeating the same trial and error situation over and over until they get it right, then they are literally repeating the 'beats' of previous plots in previous seasons now aren't they. What I was saying was that after several seasons of this, I got bored of the formula, and that's why I tuned out
All I know is Negan and Maggie are getting a spin off series that takes place in NYC, and Andrew Lincoln is contractually obligated to return to walking dead in some for or function for a movie or something of the like. So there is potential to continue the story and have the walkers evolve, but I doubt they’ll ever capture what made the first couple seasons so good
11 years in 40 minutes. Nicely done!
That is a super fact
He just removed all the filler episodes lol 😂 just kidding. It's well done
All the actors and producers watching this completely shocked and sad that some random guy managed to explain their 11 years of hard work and the actors hard work explaining the story is useless bc of this guy: (JOKE)
He left out Neegan raping Rick in the RV
THANK YOU!! From someone too scared to watch the entire season but intrigued enough to be curious about it...Thank you
I feel like after Eugene pulled the 1000 IQ megamind move against negan. He became one of the most important and respected characters to date. He absolutely redeemed himself
Eugene is the true underdog in the story.
His character was annoying and unbearable until that misfire scene. What an absolute genius. I don't know how that's even possible, but regardless it was an awesome idea.
@@haziyo he made the bullet casings the wrong size so when they fired in the chamber some got stuck and blew fragments everywhere, some just exploded
He was the savior of that moment for sure and even the season maybe
Glenn's death was a turning point in the show not only because he was a favorite, but because it was so brutal and unexpected.
Literally everyone expected Glen to get his eye popped.
Yeah I was really disappointed when they killed Hershel and glen. They were definitely up there with my favorites.
It’s so crazy how after the prison, it led to some of the best solo episodes ever, yet as a whole it failed to deliver. If they took all the solo episodes and split the episodes up evenly story wise, it could’ve kept the attention of the audience better and not feel like entire seasons worth of filler
I think I get what you mean, what do you mean by splitting the episodes up evenly story wise though?
@@demetriush21 it shouldn’t of had episodes solely focused around individual or pairs of characters. I think it could of been better if we saw a little bit of every character in each episode up until they met up at sanctuary instead of how it was done

Man you just reminded me of my all time favorite scene. When Alexandria gets overrun by walkers and they cover themselves in guts and start waking through the crowd Jessie’s kid panics and gets bit while Jesse hangs onto Carl and he chops her arm off. Hardcore’
Same! Favorite part of the series.
I had to skip that part 😂😂😂 I can not handle kids dying but I lowkey blame the kid and Jesse for that he could’ve stayed with Gabriel but no 😂😂😂
Yeah that was a trick from the earlier seasons where Rick and Glenn cover themselves in Guts to escape Atlantas Downtown.
omg sooooo true and the scene with carl turning around saying ' DAD" after getting shot in the eye. SPEECHLESS!!
You can summarize most of the seasons the exact same way. Ricks group finds safe place. Safe place gets destroyed. It gets old pretty quickly.
(Norman Reedus)
Just Wow!!
Carol even (Melissa McBride) and them finding all the other actors … just such an incredible series!! Made this decade for me as I love creative writing and good television 📺!
I’m a fan for life!!
Thought I was the only one who noticed.
True but they stay in Alexandria for pretty much the entire second half of the series.
The series literally shows them rotting and eventually they'd have their brains rot away too there's no way there can be that many left from the first wave.

ive been a twd fan for maybe 7 or 8 years, and this may be my favorite recap-style video of the series that i've seen so far, the way you manage to relate what happened in each season with such accurracy even if you miss details is satisfactory, and the way you told some relationships (cofcof daryl and connie, daryl and carol) waa great since you didn't assume mostly false romantic relationships and instead went by the obvious interactions between characters
Time flies so fast. I remember watching episode 1 on its launch night as a young kid scrolling channels and see a zombies “movie”. Little did I know, that 1 hour premier was a series!
Lazy writing.

Everything with Ezekiel taking over as leader of the common wealth and everyone saying their lasts words to each all happened after Rosita's death which there is a time skip between Rosita's death and everything else involving the fates of the character roughly two years after
The timeskip was one year not two.
Tyrese & Sasha and their group actually were chased off by Rick at first as he had gone a little mad. They ended up at Woodbury but later switched when The Governor showed he was crazy and wanted to kill Rick’s group

What an incredible story and journey its been, in the show and real life. I will always feel bitter sweetness for this show, started watching the night it premiered, 24 now
Thank you for giving us this recap of the series. I especially appreciate that it was straight and to the point. 👍
Nothing against the actors, but the writers clearly ran out of ideas, and just rehashed the old tried and true story trope.
do you know that the story of the show follow the story of the comics ???
Seeing Eugene going from Bozo to Gigachad was my favorite part of this video
17:34 the casual nature of this declaration will never not be funny to me.
I abandoned the series in the fifth season, this summary came in very handy for me. Thank you!!
Missing out bro
@@themoongateofficial @Nadia Bueno You're really not, though. Most of the show is dogshit, unfortunately.
@@dusanradojkovic8190 I personally disagree besides season 8 of course
@@dusanradojkovic8190 totally agree with you, crazy that some people just don't see stuff like that
The more incredible thing about the walking dead is that it managed to finish with a satisfactory ending, few series managed to go for so long and have that.
i really enjoyed the show as a kid when me and my dad would watch it together. but once Glenn died i couldn't be bothered i don't know why i just really enjoyed Glenn and everything he was one of the best characters along with dale, rick, and Shane.
This is a perfect video. I didn't feel like rewatching everything so I just rewatched the new season and was so confused thank you for this
Thanks!
Thank YOU
Anyone that stayed up late every Sunday night watching through commercials and then hanging out watching talking dead after I salute you
This was all that was needed for someone like me who quit in season 7.
Can’t believe it was uploaded 22 hours ago lol just what I needed at the right time
6:54 i feel like cutting out rick going back in the prison, seeing his wife body literally gone, and a walker next to that blood with a gut so big it couldn’t even move, seeing that you know i think would drive anyone insane, for a little while at least.
I remember watching both, for the first time, vividly.
you should watch "all of us are dead"
@@tookie.2427 ill check it out :)
Bro is a legend for a Adam and Eve sponsorship 😂
Carl names the baby Judith after a teacher he had. Merle really makes me like him for what he does with the Guv. Most important part you missed. JOE!! When Rick bites his throat. Rick said they messed with the wrong people because of him having the confidence to bite Joe so that they would survive. They go back to Noah's community to honour Beth as she was going to accompany him. While there Noah's twin brothers are zombies and bite Tyreese. After losing so many they are in a barn A huge storm comes and they are saved from a herd by a storm.
I always wondered if I missed out on anything by stopping at season 4. Let's just say I'm glad I watched this recap.
Thank you, you just saved me like 3 weeks of trying to catch up from where I left off on season 7
Your voice is perfect for this content!
Having watched all 11 seasons, i can see why people dropped the series, but personally besides the ridiculously obvious plot armor at times, or over the top shit, it really was a good series, very excited to see how the spin off goes
Aaron was my favourite character so I’m glad he survived
The Walking Dead was so well thought out at the human relation level. They did such an excellent job exploring how they thought human would interact in an apocalyptic setting and how relationships would evolve over time.
However, and this is a huge problem, you really only need to watch 2-4 episodes a season and youll get the entire story that was told for a whole season. The very definition of all filler, no thriller (or in this case, little thriller)
Although I am very happy to now refer to Andrew Lincoln as Rick from TWD. Especially during my wife's annual viewing of love actually
The CGI they used to try and tie up the whole Rick mess is hilarious 😂40:48
Thanks; I desperately needed to finish this story but your version is so much more palatable!!! 😂
Had daryll killed Maggie things would be different.
Man how young did Daryl look in season one Rick too .
i’ve watched every episode as they came out. i’ve sat through 12 years of commercials 😢 I LOVE YOU TWD FAMILY! 💔
Please share what characters you didnt care for 😌
@@Littlekitten_ i loved every character i dont think i ever hated any like that
I stopped watching ever since Glen’s death. Great recap 👍
Amazing recap, really really good. I stopped watching after season 10 but this recap brought all the memories back and wrapped up the ending for me
Damn. I couldn't ever possibly imagine orange stormtroopers on TWD. Happy to left it where it supposed to. Great recap btw!
Never realized the irony that Maggie negotiated killing Negan and in return it cost Glenn his life...
People who stopped after Glenn's death: Idk why you did it, because he died in the comics as well. But imo you did the right thing because in your version of TWD Carl is still alive.
I stopped watching not because they killed Glenn, but the whole season cliffhanger of who dies, seemed incredibly cheap and I didnt care enough
That is when I stopped is when they killed Carl
Carl doesn’t die in the comic books?
Exactly 😎
We knew he was gonna die since spoilers were everywhere back then but nothing prepared me and my sister for that episode lol we stopped and only came back to watch this recap years later because I wanted to know how it ended.
Since season 1 nothing has changed.. Safe place found, safe place destroyed, new safe place found, safe place destroyed and repeat
This recap is impressive, you have a new subscriber ❤
Just now remembering the nostalgic intro song, and how a little kid from europe waited until 3 AM to watch the show whilst not caring that i'd be insanely tired in shool the same day. Good times for sure.
Nice recap! Helped me catch back up to watch 10 and 11
35:28
Negan is the one who got the message to Maggie (not Gabriel)
Season 1 was simply amazing.
Hi Recap & Chill I love this and I hope you have a good day and you are awesome
I have watched the whole 11 series
You recap is gold my friend 🤙🏻
