Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Some people call the first jack you caught a barr jack. They are excellent on a big cracker with soy n wasabi👍
NC kayak fishermen: "Ok, he's on vacation, go quick and catch what you can before he gets back." Lol. Merry Christmas and happy fishing down there!
I fish locally in keys and Miami. Yellow jack are amazing eating. I don’t eat any other jacks besides them. Never had a worm and I’ve had over 100 throughout the years fishing the keys.
John from Creek Fishing Adventures was/is in Florida with his kayak. That woulda been a good collab you take him Salt and him and you go catch a buncha invasives .
every time we do annual FL trip with NC style fishing it sucks! by day 3 live bait the FL way. we have a blast. its amazing the difference way of fishing between NC and FL
Interesting
Yes that was a yellow Jack. It is some peoples' favorite sushi or locally a great fish sandwich. I like mine with soy personally.
Fine way to start the holiday ... something new, and probably tasty. Road trip catch & cook? Have a great Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Pretty good day for fishing blind. Real fishermen have bloody bump boards. Merry Christmas bud.
that was a yellow jack , very fine table fare better than their cousin, great video..
Nice, I’m envious! Need to show some cooking of the fish.
Damn that looks fun... But .. not in a kayak .
Maybe a kayak with out riggers. To keep my big, old , clumsy butt
from rolling over !!. Not sure what you would call this but a buddy of mine hangs a string with small mirrors on it about 10 feet under his boat.. it looks like a school of bait fish reflecting the light. It draws in some big fish !
Catch that keeper mutton and black grouper🔥🔥🔥
Water literally looks like Mtn Dew Baja blast
Should have kept the moon fish. Very tasty.
Awesome 👌 Merry Christmas
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for taking us along.
8:40 i think thats a bluestripe grunt.
Those yellow jacks are delicious. Good sashimi too
Been watching you since you were at 1k subs. You and Sea Money. Back when you were up north fishing. Totally different these days but love it.
Was down there for 10 days for Thanksgiving. Fishing the keys is tough after Nov 1st. The wind blows all winter long. It was a rough week w everyone throwing live bait and I was fishing most outfishing most people with artificials. Fish Spanish key and my new fav no name key. Watch out for the baby dear they're all over and we'll jump in front of your car
A yellow Jack is actually in the amberjack family, great eats, great healthy benefits, and perfect for sashimi
I think the first one is not a yellow jack. It’s an in between species. Here we call it Guarasuma. Very good eating, a little dry meat. Look downs are delicious.
First fish we call a blue runner. Incredible bait offshore for pelagics. Probably my favorite bait overall offshore. That or live pinfish. People also like to eat them.
@@JeffSmith-eq3kc I didn’t called it a bluerunner (xixarro) since the color is a little different in the video, but maybe it’s just the saturation or something. But yeah, excellent bait!
@@JeffSmith-eq3kc bar jack no blue runner
Those yellow jacks make killer sashimi
Thanks for the new vid, how’s the shoulder? Eye of Sauron tat?
Yellow jack, great sushimi/carpaccio!!! Yum. :)
Happy holidays from my family to yours 🎣
Elias, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Prayers sent for Meg,Elias. God Bless
Merry Christmas Elias🎄
You have a very enviable lifestyle! Merry Christmas to you and Meg!! Best of luck for the new year!!
Was in the ismarada last week great fishing
Love your videos man. Not to be particular, but I think that was a Blue striped Grunt.
Keep up the good work.
Great to see the different variety of fish. Nice vid like always
Nice vid. I remind you every once in a while about the carp catch and cook that never happened. I don’t know if anyone is still waiting, but I am. Love the vids.
Common carp are all over the US because they were a food fish. Not that I would unless it was clean water..... and I already ate my shoes.
@@kevindifranco3494 I feel the same way. That’s why I like to watch RUclipsrs do it lol. Maybe I’ll try it some day from some clean water, though I’ve said that for years.
Damn I keep seeing everybody use the Bucktail and Bucktail and Bucktail. I rarely see anyone use that slow pitch jig. Finally, somebody is doing a video using this kind of jig.
Love to see you cooking the fresh fish. Hopely you can add video of fish being cooked and deliver nice food.
wow all my favorite youtubers are fishing in the keys
Nice fishing
Great video, hope you and Meg have a Merry Christmas!!
That is a yellow jack and perfect eating size the taste amazing but don’t freeze well
did you almost call that mangrove a chungus and stopped yourself halfway through 😆
You could really feel the intensity of his regret as he said it
Those moon fish are like paper plates with fins 😂 nice to see the bucktails and gulp catching down there.
Nice snappers and yellow jack ! Good tasty meal
fun variety. keep it going.
Love your videos man.
The first one was also a yellow jack, they can vary in color.
you're in my neighborhood. I'm in Layton, just south of channel 5 bridge. The canal here has a nice deep 'pond' that holds an incredibly diverse fishery. good luck!
Man..too bad you dont shipp to Norway. Was about to order up some Inshore Macks. Happy holidays to you and your lovedone. Looking forward for some new adventures 2022. 🎄
Merry Christmas / Happy Hanukkah Elias...
Ah man, kept the mango but not the lookdown. I gave them a chance in the pan and wow they are delicious! Fantastic and relaxing video overall, must say
Thanks for your show you are very informative i am learning a lot from them I am a veteran from Kansas and now I have been living in Florida for about 8 years it's a lot different from Kansas as far as fishing I was a truck driver for a while until I damaged my back and now I can't work anymore so I am training myself to rebuild rods and reals it's not real easy but I am not doing to bad I haven't been able to go fishing for over 26 years and now I am disabled and can't carry very much with me when I go fishing and I can't walk very far I can't afford a lot of the nice things that you guys have like beach carts but I got a Gulf caddy and I am trying to build me a surf cart I have no idea of how to do it but I am not doing to bad I have been out of the army for 48 years but sorry for rambling but I just wanted to say thanks for your videos I learn from them keep up the good work you are more helpful then you could know David
Beautiful fishing bro 👍
Yellow Jacks are great for making Sushi
These Keys fish were not prepared for the jig special! You are very unique with your jigging and you seem to be successful everywhere you go.
Nice video, great catches
I was born and raised in islamorada and i was a cop in islamorada for 27 years to.
Here in New Zealand they call that first fish a Trevally
Yellow jack for sure they can be bluish sometimes too.... aka the Florida hamachi... fantastic eating. Hands down most underrated non regulated species. Good catches! Let us know what you think of the yellow jacks
Those lookdowns are good to eat
Looks like a Blue Runner to me, big one too 👍👍👍
Try fishing in the canals on some of the keys. I've had great luck with it. Also try about a quarter mile off the beach around Key West on the Atlantic side. Great yellow tail snapper!
Stoked your down their.
Jan. 2 in Minnesota. 4*F, watching you in the Keys is awesome. On a cold shi** y day.
Great stuff!
Merry Christmas Elias! Thanks for the videos. I haven't been fishing in almost a month. Waiting for good ice.
Me too in N.Y. its not looking good. 50 degrees tomorrow.
Bravo 👍👍👍
Give the Major Craft Jigpara Micro Slow Jig a try, reasonably price and in my opinion work the best for all species, the pink and gold crushes the pompano, Thanks for the Videos
Nice. Good luck down there, hope you catch a bunch. Looking forward to seeing how you like those lookdowns if you get into a few more.
Elite fisherman.
I think is a bluestriped grunt. Nice catch
Hey man merry Christmas 🎄
Love it!!! You’re like the Bob Ross of fishing 👍
Watch Ndyaker. He is absolutely the bob ross of fishing. Great channel
yellow jacks are great eating! almost taste like snapper
I'm new to your channel, after saying you didn't have the fish finder you said you were going to "Gogin this" what's that mean is that your term for guessing?
Great video dude ! Love seeing you fish the keys.
First fish, Blue Runner !
Yellow Jack is the same thing.
@@canigetachannel yellow jack and blue runner are definitely not the same. Yellow Jack is a fantastic table fare.
@@georilla
Thank you very much for the info!
I know mostly Pacific aquatics.
Would love to fish the Keys !
Merry Christmas too!
Don’t worry man I will hold down the fort for you here back in North Carolina 👍🏻 (getting skunked 3 out of 4 times). Good stuff like always, pimp
Awesome video! Great stuff! :)
The lookdowns and moonfish are tasty.
When you are jigging behind and to the side, that motion is horrible for your shoulder
i believe that first fish was a monstrous blue runner
Good fishing! This place is wonderful... Hugs from Brazil👍
Ok ok Let’s cut to the part where you hit Chokoloskee And put a hurting on the grouper
Yellow Jacks are very tasty!!!
You should have come on down to Marathon……. the fishing is much better in that area than where you were. I know it doesnt seem like it would make a difference but it does. Much better here bc you have the 7 mile bridge separating the gulf from the Atlantic. The fishing is 100% better😎😎
Thank you 😊 💓 for your video..
Великолепно!!! 👍👍Большое разнообразие морской ихтиофауны - за одну рыбалку 8 разных рыб!!! Очень рад за вас!!! Привет с севера Сахалина!!! 🤚🤚🤚🤗🤗
First fish may be a bar jack. Wiki says good to eat unless caught around St Thomas island then possible Ciguatera. Also says commonly eaten in Bermuda.
What fish would the mangrove taste like and comparable out here?
I’ve caught so many different kinds of fish right where your at I love fishing there except the weekends them big boats will turn you over they don’t care not all do but some don’t care I think some would love to turn you over . But other than that it’s a great place to fish . I’ve hung some there that I could not even turn don’t know what they were but they were strong great video brother
What ??? No SHarks??
I spend a bunch of time down in the Keys. We catch a good of Yellowjack. Never see worms. Next time you think you have a small mutton double check to see if it is a lane snapper. The dot is more of a square and the pattern is closer to a yellow tail snapper.
Do all you guys get a hit up as quickly as appears in the video or is the video edited to the extent that it appears to all happen within minutes. 😳😳🎣🐟🇦🇺
Fishaholic is down there also, you should hookup. No pun intended...
No bro that’s not googan that’ makes you really fish we were not raised with using a depth finder it was all search and fish great video buddy
Merry Christmas bud!
That look down is good eats
cool video, hope to see you get on some awesome fish
Pompano and permit are members of the jack family, Carangidae, which includes about 140 species worldwide. Jacks are characterized by their silvery, thin bodies and deeply forked tail fins. ... The best way to distinguish between these species is to count the dorsal and anal fin rays. Pompano have more.
Bar jack have the blue backs
Will you be stopping by John Skinner place….Like old school fish offs
