    I use the old „Roostertail“ spinner‘s in yellow. They work great!!! While surf fishing in the panhandle(Florida) I caught a fish on EVERY cast! Most were ladyfish but they were so much fun! Jetty and pier fishing resulted in multiple species. Fish hit other colors but the yellow was a non miss. They even out fished jigs……Give one a try if you can find them. Cheers

      Rooster tails are kind of my secret weapon in the salt. Mackerel love them especially during low light conditions. It is too bad they rust shortly after they touch saltwater. I want to make my own but I can't find stainless steel blades.

    Paddle tail fowls are usually caused by two things. A bite you didn’t feel and fishing vertical. When fishing vertical if you invert the tail it will drastically reduce this especially on the softer plastics.

    Yeah for my experience there, slack tide or slow are the worse! You have to present the lures WAY slower, or drop a long Carolina Rig with 3ft leader and fresh bait! You can also try the land area by the rocks next to the bridges! I've had luck like that as well. Sometimes bait fish tend to hang there.

    Here in the Northwest, we are required to have single point barbless hooks on a lot of fish, so I gave up on trebles for single point siwash hooks on the lures. It seems to work just fine with easy release of the fish.

    • @adamyoung480
      @adamyoung480 4 месяца назад +2

If I know there are cows I am comfortable w 25. If you are still there for a lil bit, DO TRY Spanish Harbor Channel Bridge, at least walk out from the south side. I personally have caught several snook and small tarpon. Have seen schools of BIG tarpon and HUGE cuda, 30-40 lbs. Fish the ocean side. And if you want to try another, no name key. 2 of my personal favs. Good stuff, keep them coming. I REALLY dislike yellow plastic, for salt water its white or chartreuse or a pearl mixed.

    I can’t remember if you did a catch clean & cook with a jack Crevaille ? I’ve always heard they’re bloody trash .

      Cut one open once and it was oozing with worms everywhere. Haven't tried since. All things considered would probably never make sense to be a choice for me to eat.

      @@EliasVFishingdont bother with jack crevalle. There waaaay too many other good eating fish out there. Yellow jacks are good especially for sashimi and you can never beat mangroves or sheepies for frying up!😎

    I've been thinking of trying some of my freshwater lures in the salt. I feel like whopper ploppers will destroy mahi on weeds and pots. Muskie spinners on tuna. Idk why I have never heard of people using anything like that. I'm almost certain the ploppers will be fantastic. I may even try trolling them

      I've caught lots of huge and Juvenile Tarpon on Whopper Ploppers down there! Freshwater lures work great it's all about the presentation!

    Those black spots are probably trematodes. A stage in the life cycle waiting to be eaten by a bird to mature and start over.

    I think that crab lure might fish better if you rigged it to pull sideways instead of pulling it from its keester, just remember watching the crabbies swim, I`m just a Googan, so.
