Caught tons of sheeps, reds, blacks, and spades in that spot but never a pomp. Granted, never tried for pomps in SC. I've joked about jacking your spots, but in all seriousness what I really mean is taking the info you share and building off of it. Been catching big pomps in WB surf last 2 hours of daylight. Then whiting during the night. Always appreciate the insight dude. You're quickly becoming a local kayak legend. Hope to see you out there one day. I've seen you in the Bruns river while I was driving by, but never while I was on the water. Keep it tight.

Pompano are the best tasting fish *period*. You're the only person I've seen catching them inshore, instead of out in the surf. Crustaceans and current appear to be the hot combo.

By far the best eating fish ever. I have never caught a Pompano not on the beach. You said something interesting. You said you were going to freeze them whole. What you mean? Gut and head off? I have frozen the filet's and they taste great. Most filet's frozen in water are ok. Except white trout, which are worthless unless you eat fresh. Great video on my favorite fish.

Yeah, they’re the best. My favorite fish was always speckled trout, until I came to Alabama and tried a couple of pompano. Fry them or bake them whole in butter with garlic and WOW! The perfect eating fish.

Always great to get out and fish for anything, big or small. I fished ICW a little over a month ago and had a ball, other than the jet ski traffic. Was in my Mako, so it didn't have the same effect on me as for you. I always see it as a courtesy thing to slow down when I see a kayak, canoe, or smaller craft. Nothing worse than being rocked all over the place. Anyway, thanks for the video and keep the tight lines.

Tiny jacks in the surf are often confused for pomps. Not saying that's what you caught, but small jacks do mix in with surf pompano. When they're tiny they're almost indistinguishable from pompano aside from the sharp spines on their sides, near the tail.
