Ahhh - my NDyak fix for the week! Thank you, Matt - you're always a welcome sight to these old sore eyes! At 82, I get out maybe once or twice a year, but do my main fishing mostly vicariously through your videos!
The Bob Ross of fishing! A true legend!
lol
I've called him the Lock Picking Lawyer of Fishing😂 but Bob Ross fits too
Can't ask for a better guy to be compared to even if Bob wasn't a fisherman as far as i know .
Beat me to my thoughts actually! The Bob Ross of fishing!
Except the noise of that reel, hits my bones 😅
This guy and The Ginger Fisherman are absolute legends at lure fishing
Man, I DREAM of a crossover vid! Imagine Matt and Chris getting into some huge canal pike together.
@@CatchReleaseRepeat kayaking down the canal together! 🤣🤣
I’m deadly with top water lures too💯
lol why does everyone and their mother have a fishing channel now...@@MrJaxnbeFishing
I'm a ginger and a fisherman 😉
the sound of birds, water and whopper ploppers really make me long for spring!
I'm just happy he saved this video for February. I needed a fish fix.
Your casting accuracy just amazes me.
After thousands casts it comes naturally if you have that "something" for it ;)
That muskie spun your kayak around like you had a trolling motor on high. Awsome video sir.
Oh man, somehow my feed got filled with political nonsense... but then, what's that, a post from NDYakAngler? Yes, please.
Honestly man the feed on RUclips is so so so so so bad, there needs to be a real RUclips competitor.
The sound of nature and peace and quiet is the best. Thanks for the videos much love from Alabama.
Beautiful day is right!! Thanks for reminding us what summer looks like. Just woke up to a new 2 inch snowfall!
Man, quit making me miss those beautiful spring and summer days out on the prairie!
I love watching your content!! To me you are like the Bob Ross of RUclips fishing!😂 listening to your info and insight on what to look for when casting into a spot. I do enjoy watching your shows!! Thanks!
i think my painting needs a little muskie right here your painting may be a little different,,,whatever suits you its ok whatever makes you happy or even if you don't want a fish in your painting you do what makes you happy
You have a way of bringing all the great things we love about nature and the great pastime of fishing together. You are blessed to live near that beautiful diverse water system and you seem to deeply appreciate it too, thank you for sharing it with us.
Mid summer nice saved gem.👍
Be glad when you are back in daily action.
Great pike and mussk action
That big muskellunge makes a pike look friendly!
The “Jaws” theme worked!
You're getting me all excited for this year: getting myself a new kayak and I plan on fishing that stretch for sure. Keep up the good work Matt.
Lovely fish, thanks for taking us along.
Fuggin love smallies...Susquehanna Riv is my fav smallie riv.
A good day for sure, thanks for taken us along.
Dude! I'm new to this channel but this stuff is AWESOME!!
can you try to fish with a pig shad Motoroil Pike. that luer holds my pike pb 9kg/ 19pounds and 115cm/45 inches. i live in sweden so sory if i cant spell so god. nice video👍
I probably should comment more. Wow, just wow! What a beautiful fish!
I sure appreciate your channel. I've not been fishing in about 14 years and miss it, but I got back into nature photography and I like that more.
Thank you again -- your videos are well done and incredible!
Just getting out and enjoying the outdoors is half of the fun of fishing for me!
I love this style of content, pike and muskky are my favorite too
Need to use that yellow duck again.
Got great action with it..👍👍🦈🦈
I cant believe the conditions for February Holy cow!!!! Great fish. The pike bite has been fire here for the last week. TIGHT LINES!!💪
The Jaws theme @ 7:36 killed me! 🤣😂🤣
Thank You Larry Dahlberg and River 2 Sea for making the Legendary Whopper Plopper!
On Sunday, I just caught a large Mouth the first Of the year. 6 pounds, 7 oz and about a 2 pound pickle. It was a good Sunday.
I love how this guy just gets hella top water bites every where no matter the time of year lol bravo sir!
Great idea filming a lot in spring and summer, that way you can still put out content through your rough winters Matt. 🙏🙌
After watching this video I have a serious itch to take my kayak down a river and throw a whopper popper. Pure fun.
Thanks, Matt, that was an exciting trek for a nice muskie, pike and some smallies! Take care and be safe!
its springgg babyyyy
Wow, that Muskie was a beast.😮
Thanks for taking us along. look like a great time on the river! thanks for sharing
Thanks my friend. Being ass end of February, you got me looking forward to Spring on my own stretch of river. Pike and muskie are also my passion.
13:44 I wanted to hold him and pet him and squeeze him and hug him and I would call him George.
Sorry, old cartoon quote from back in the day.
I got it Lenny 😅
… and he shall be my only friend … 😂
I love the Action this guy gets! These monsters put up such a good fight! Some of my favorite!
Wife says he sounds like Bob Ross. She would like to know if you keep any fish to eat, or you release all fish you catch. We always enjoy your videos. We live in Las Vegas and wish we had fishing water like you have.
I’ll keep some fish every now and then, not really when it’s hot out and I have an hour or two drive home though. I like to bring home a few crappie when it’s colder out.
My favorite part of the world. A beautiful spot, I can just smell the fresh air, with maybe a tiny whiff of something Ag. Looks like, feels like, sounds like, smells like home.
Once again the Whopper Plopper did a good job on getting some nice fish 🎣. Thank you sir.
Love the content! Come to Kentucky and we'll get ya on some river smallies up here!
Gorgeous country and stream, you're very fortunate to live by that. Fishing by me is not the best but I still go out. Thanks!
The first smallie I ever caught on a plopper came years ago on a 130 I was chucking around for Musk. Just a little guy. Might have been 12" at best. But when they're hungry, those beautiful brown bassfish will eat!
Your videos are always on point! Those places you fish are awesome, and productive.
That Perch pattern WP (110) is the one I’ve had the most luck with in mid-TN
I'm ready for spring... Crappie, lmb, white bass, and gar will all start their spawn or prespawn in my part of Kansas within the next couple weeks.
3:25 Mid summer... this must be a 2023 video. Lol I was like.. this can't be 2024. We barely have any green trees and tall grasses.
Wow! What a beautiful catch
I love the whopper plopper videos. The lure gets a lot of hate because of how fast that back prop bends and never has the same action… but those first 2 trips with it will be some of the most exciting bass/pike fishing experience you can get.. $16 well worth it idc what the average bass snob says
I don’t think I’ve ever had a tail wire get too bent up on the Whopper Plopper other than on a 75 once after a big pike death rolled with it in my net. The cheap knock offs I’d have to spend several minutes trying to straighten it back out after almost every fish.
@@ndyakangler yeah I agree rivers2seas is the only one worth buying. Also that being said I have had a few that get bent and still work just not the same fresh out the box. I also fish a lot of sea walls and docks so I beat mine up. Anyways man love your work, thank you for sharing.
I'm love living in ND. River fishing is always secluded.
Hey Matt, that Muskie was awesome!! Itching to get back in the kayak. Might hit the Wis. river tomorrow as the temps will hit the 50’s!! Even tho today it’s 25 with a dusting of snow!! Wish me luck!!
Awesome. I have a couple of 'creeks' in my area that are full of these big pike that no one ever tries to catch. Of course, there are the crazy little hammer handles, but there are some big girls too.
Saving this one for tomorrow. Instead of going to a Catholic Church here in Germany I’ll be watching river monsters being caught. It’s Mass but without annoying people 😂😂😂
Nicely done as usual sir! Thanks for taking us along Matt!
Nice job I would love to catch one like that. Rob from California.
I really like watching this guy. Mainly because he doesn't stag the fish.
I wish I could be taken on as your apprentice, you always make catching Muskees so easy and I've only had one fight against one at my nearby lake that I call "The Lake Legend" for years. even has a whited eye too.
Please do a video throwing the Whopper Plopper 190 for Pike🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I tried the 190 once out of my kayak a few years back. The tough thing about any lure that big are the massive hooks that come with them, it takes a serious hook set to stick a fish. It’s really tough to put that much power into a hook set fishing from a kayak. A lot of that force is absorbed by the small craft getting pulled toward the fish. It happened with the biggest pike I’ve ever hooked into but I was fishing a huge jerk bait looking thing with some massive hooks and I don’t think they went in past the barb. I got a good look at the fish as it shook my lure next to the kayak.
Nice fishing trip as usual. Thanks for sharing.
I'm watching this episode on Feb 24 2024 and everything here in Connecticut is frozen over! I'm jealous.
We will be completely ice off by next week at my local fishery. Cannot wait for plopper season!
That first bass knew what he was doing pulling you into the tree 😂
always a relaxing time watching you fish
Great action Matt, one of my favorite lures and can't go wrong with a Whopper Plooper!
You made a meeting on work comp trends bearable! Thank you for 2 screens
Good Ploppin'.
Thanks NDYA
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Greetz from Belgium ! I enjoy watching your videos. I am also a big 'Plopper' fan ;-)
Absolutely top 3 fishing channel
Good job and what a fight budy 😃
It’s still dipping down in the 30’s and 40’s here in Chattanooga Tennessee. How is it that green and gorgeous in North Dakota?
I’m in the Chattanooga area as well! You got a yak?
It's probably a video he made from last year is my guess.
He was recently posting some winter and late fall videos so it's likely just extra summer content he's been keeping around to get through the slow winter season until the bite starts up again.
He mentioned in the video that is mid summer
@@aeonx_LRthat's pretty smart of him
Really enjoy your content. Used to fish rivers in southern MN. but no muskies. You bring back great memories for this old retired angler. Rock on !!!
Seeing these nice warm, geeen, top water vids. Makes me impatient for spring and summer
Try the Gamakatsu G-Finesse hooks on your Plopper and a ball bearing snap swivel hooked to the lure tie, better hook up ratio with the hooks and your line won't twist with the ball bearing swivel tied to the front. You are the purest fisherman on the net.
Man I can't wait till it warms up , love to here all the sounds and everything in bloom. Thanks for everything dude, really my guy..... Goin in to my 5th year on the yak and I ain't looking back. Here is to a good year full of giant toads.
Love these videos so peaceful
Bro, i contine to love your Channel! So relaxing and yet exciting at the same time! The accuracy of your casting is remarkable! Well done Sir!
Thats such a cool lure .
Man! I can’t wait to get back out and get some top water action. Love your channel
Whew, she’s a beaut, Clark!
I can't believe how whatever lure your throwing is what the fish are bitting on, how do you do that? Thanks for sharing, good stuff as always!!!
I would have probably caught another fish or two throwing something sub surface but I enjoy catching fish on topwater so I’ll usually pick a lure and stick with it. Loud aggressive lures like the Plopper are always good for pike and muskie!
Beautiful scenery for February in North Dakota
I sure enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the excellent work!
this is one of my favorite lures
great video and great fishing and kayaking!! have a good day and weekend.
Love watching this dudes videos there so calming also
Крааавчик🔥🔥🔥🎣🎣🎣
С Горячим Приветов из России🤍💙😘🤝✊👍🤟
I just can't get over how green, lush and warm North Dakota is in February. I may have to cancel my spring break trip to Cancun and reroute to Bismark, lol. 😂
Cool vid and thanks for sharing.
He said earlier that it is mid summer
@@Powerpickle68 I know, that's what the "lol" was for, It's lighthearted, obvious sarcasm.
What a beautiful river
I’ve always been taught when you throw a topwater lure , let it sit and the rings settle , before retrieving .
But it seems like the old cast and retrieve works too
It's difficult to imagine weather like that in North Dakota in February!!
Another great vids. We would love to see you target more muskies in the future. Thxs. Great job. Cheers
Nice catches on that trip. Congrats
Nothing beats a top water bite muskie or not its always a rush!!!
How dare you get me dreaming about open water lip-ripping when I'm still hoping I can go ice fishing a few more times haha! As always, great video
Wow Matt-excellent content. The adrenaline rush you spoke of at 10.01 combined with the look on your face afterwards, is going to get you a sponsorship with either:
"River2Sea and Whopper Plopper" or "The Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Depends" or both. I'm hoping for River2Sea myself. 😂 Great video as always. God bless.
The Bob Ross of fishing
Was about to say. It looks way to warm for February fishing lol
