    Jigging from piers here in Ireland is one of the most successful methods. Same in most European countries. I use an 8 foot 5 - 35 gram fast action tip, with a 2500/3000 Penn reel, sporting 15lbs braid and usually a 3 foot 10lbs leader.
    It's an ideal setup and very rarely let's me down, even when the occasional brute decides to hit. For seabass, I'll use at least a 9 foot rod up to 50 grammes, and 25lbs braid on a 4000 Penn Wrath. Strong enough for accurate distance casting, but with more than enough finesse to feel everything.

    Nice video mate. I've started fishing micro jigs a few years ago now over here in Australia. Such a great way to cover larger areas of water, especially when fishing land based. I do prefer tying the jig on, especially 5-7g as the clip sometimes effect the action of the jig, especially when it's falling. Cheers

    Thats funny how u said something about dry line. On one occasion on a fishing trip, my first cast right after taking my pole out of the car, of course my entire spool was bone dry, it was a baitcaster, and when i flung my first cast i completely burned my thumb on the line being that it didn't have a drop of water on it🤣🤣 never made that mistake again lol always wet ur line n spool before ur first cast 😅

    IF you fish jigs or lures particularly in Salt water use some line conditioner . Stops tangles,birds nests, ETC. Basic Teflon spray from the local auto parts store also works. After fishing wash down spray and your ready for the next trip. For the Micro-jigs you can run a clear bubble above and float these lure just like if you were fishing Crappie with a tube jig. I use this technique for when Surf halibut are feeding on small baits like 2 inch anchovies .

    Question if you were me and using 1/2 or 1/4 oz Kast masters spoons for yellow bass in 15-20 feet of water. And they love these spoons. What rod would you get from Major Craft, the Crostage in micro jigging? Also what is difference between medium and light etc. I want your take on a freshwater setup but want something that can really jig spoons because these yellow bass love spoons out here.. and they make 🔥 fish tacos 🙏 can't wait to try some of these gonna get bite for sure

    • @BearzG
      @BearzG  3 года назад +3

      I have used kast masters for lmb here in San Diego and they work great! Also used JigPara Micro Slims for them too in November. So the rod I would use in your situation would be anything between 7' - 7'6'' Medium Light, only because I will be able to send it way out there so they don't know your boat or you are near by. With the long rod, you get distance, with the soft tip, you get more of a natural presentation of the jig/spool/kastmaster. For the action, I would either go with fast or ex. fast. But that is my take on it, good luck!

    Shimano only really focuses on their high-end products. Daiwa focuses from low-end to their high-end products, that alone makes them better than Shimano.

      A lot of the people I fish with personally had issues with the US Shimano reels. I understand that there are die-hard Shimano heads out there but the guys I fish with have nothing but negative results with their reels. Their offshore stuff is good, they got that down. But if you want my opinion on Shimano reels, either buy Made in Japan reels from Shimano OR spend minimum $350 on their reels, any one of their reels under $350 were not great with salt IMHO.
      This is just my opinion on their reels. Not a comment to bash the brand. I've had my fair share with their team, customer service is everything and unfortunately, Shimanos customer service is not the best.

    • @BearzG
      @BearzG  3 года назад +2

      As for Daiwa, you want a reel that will last you along time and still be buttery smooth (if you maintain it of course), you're looking to spend minimum of $200 for one of their reels that is QUALITY or DURABLE to salt.
      I've had my share of Daiwa reels also taking a poop on me but then again, those reels were $60 - $130 range and they just died on me. Daiwa customer service is good but NOT great. Products are innovative just like Shimano, they both have their pros and cons. I won't judge if people dislike Daiwa or Shimano.
      Fish what you like, buy what you like. Go gettem!!

    Dude! Just yesterday, a boat was just maybe 15 yds off the rocks and just went right over my line, and continued right down the shore, with other anglers on the rocks. Sucks cuz we can’t do anything bout it since they just keep cruising away. Luckily I didn’t get hung up, but fuck those guys.
    Also, I thought you used Tactical Anglers Clips, instead of AP Snaps. I just switched to TA Clips 50#, love em

    • @BearzG
      @BearzG  3 года назад

      Yeah man sometimes it could be rough on the water especially when boats and water crafts decides to get close to shore for no apparent reason. We all hated and we can't do nothing about it. I actually still do use tactical clips. But not all of them work with finesse jigs. That's why I mentioned to have variety of tackle on you to make things more easy. I do use those tactical clips in my offshore bags and my bigger baits.

    • @MrMajors
      @MrMajors 3 года назад

      Even the lighter weight tactical clips sometimes don’t fit the eyelets on some jig heads. Especially painted ones. Pretty annoying.
