As someone who plays VGC doubles, if I see an opponent use something out of ordinary in their team I feel such immense fear it probably can't be measured because at least against the meta mons I know somewhat what to do, wildcards are spooky! 😂
What i fear the most is that guy who has 4 OU mons, 1 PU mon, and 1 random lv 1 aron. Understands the game well enough to know the meta, but creative enough to know what unpredictable antimeta works
Thief + acrobatics or feint scyther is also chill. No one expects item stealing from an acro user giving ghost killing power. Run it with CC and feint or quick attack to bait ghosts out.
This Pokémon should have Compoundeyes as ability, it would be much more useful on a sleep powder move set, equipped with hydro pump with increased accuracy
Masquerain has always been a thorn in my side in PvE over the years. I always forgot it's typing because it's rarely seen and then it has Intimidate just to be a nuisance to me.
I was just getting into games when Pokémon Gen 1 came out and your videos constantly blow me away with how *deep* Pokémon strategy has gotten since then where it was just “haha fire go brrrrr against grass”
Gen 1’s strategy has gotten deeper over the years too, no one who doesn’t play competitive would expect Tauros and Persian to be the strongest mons of RBY
I've been using this 'mon for quite some time now. It is unfortunate that you released this video of it because now its potential will be out there for people to see 😅. But I have mine set up slight differences. Speed 252 SpA 252+ Def 4 Atk - Either heavy-duty boots or focus sash Quiver Dance Bug Buzz Air Slash Mud Shot (Best ground move it has) Along with tera ground. I personally believe mud shot (w/ tera ground) is a better option than Hydro pump. It covers more, has 100% accuracy, and speed drops 1 stage. Yes, hyrdo pump can cover for fire and rock types but what about steel and electric? That's why you choose mud shot.
I feel like blaziken users would gain a lot more advanced using moves other than protect immediately everytime People just know theyre gonna automatically do it, so
Speaking of this pokemon, I got an entirely full odds 1/4,096,000 Masquerain by accident, I was looking for Iron Crown and Iron Boulder in Area Zero and I encountered a shiny Masquerain with a rare mark, and any pokemon has a 1/1000 chabce of having a rare mark, and the shiny Masquerain (1/4096 chance) has a rare mark (1/1000 chance), which makes it a 1/4,096,000 Masquerain, and I didn't have any sandwich boosts active nor the shiny charm at the time, I ofc hyper trained it and it has the moveset Giga Drain (for rock type coverage), Air Slash, Bug Buzz, Quiver Dance, and it has the grass tera type, it managed to barely take out a 5 (or 6 star, I forgot) tera raid Golem.
Is it the most popular? No. But is it the best setup sweeper? Also no. But does it have a niche that nothing else can fill? That's a no as well. But is it a decent Bug type Pokemon? Listen, I'm gonna need you to leave if you keep up that kind of negativity.

Literally went up against a guy who used a shiny chandelure with grass Tera and blunder policy and used inferno first. I’m pretty sure he saw that one vid 😂 too bad didn’t work for him at all.
Hey, haydunn idk if you ever see this comment but if you do i appreciate the content of your videos and since you are mostly playing with underused Pokémon i would love to see a video of my guy banette which i found as a shiny and i really want to use it but i have no idea if it can be any good
I caught a shiny one of these in a nuzlocke in Pokémon starlet and violet and after using the damage calculator, I should be able to set up against Geeta’s Espathra and sweep.
Update: mission success Like the masquerain set up 2 quiver dances with the covert cloak to keep it safe from luminaries crash. I knew that if the second lumina crash crit, lime would die but she went for reflect allowing me to easily clean Espathra, velusa, and gogoat with a bug buzz as well as Kingambit, avelug, and glimmora with a fighting type Tera blast
I've always liked Masquerain. Not necessarily its utility, but just in general. I really like your videos with underused Pokemon being successfully used competitively. It goes with my belief that, though some are definitely more useful and versatile than others, every Pokemon can be good when used strategically. Just like how you used Dodrio a couple weeks ago to decimate a team. It's awesome.
I’m not concerned when I see a team full of legendaries. I’m concerned when I see a dude with a team of never used mons
The team full of legendaries is probably low IQ.. the team full of rarely seen Pokémon is a wild card to be feared.
@@nolongeraperson to be FEARED!!😂

love Masquerain, but i always wished it kept Surskit’s Bug/Water typing
Exactly! That would've been sooooo much better!
The fact that it keeps the water tera from its pre evo is what made me keep him 🥺
Only because stealth rock exists
I have X-scissor on my scyther for no reason lmao should be bug bite
Thief + acrobatics or feint scyther is also chill. No one expects item stealing from an acro user giving ghost killing power. Run it with CC and feint or quick attack to bait ghosts out.
Masqueraine is a lot cooler than I ever gave it credit for
Haydunn motto
Me after watching a Haydunn video: *"Damn, I gotta build one of those. 🔥"*
It’s nice to see Golem actually use its full set up and not get blown out after rocks 😂
Man I caught a Surskit on my 1st playthrough of Sapphire cuz I thought it was adorable and I was a Masquerain fan for life.
Why are you running X-Scissor over Bug Bite on Technician Scyther?
The combo of intimidate lowering opps attack and quiver dance boosting spatt, spdef and speed is pretty nuts. Overlooked mon for sure!
Stealth rock 50% hp go brr
bro shoutout to the man Donut, working his ass off for this channel
This Pokémon should have Compoundeyes as ability, it would be much more useful on a sleep powder move set, equipped with hydro pump with increased accuracy
That would make it uu
It learned hurricane this gen too
Design wise Intimidate makes way more sense though
@@seronimo__7735would be dope if it had access to both abilities :D
"Extremely Forgotten"?! Dude, I made a figurine of this baby and won second place at a fair--I LOVE this sweet eyeball critter! 🥰
oh my god id love to see that
Masquerain has always been a thorn in my side in PvE over the years. I always forgot it's typing because it's rarely seen and then it has Intimidate just to be a nuisance to me.
Now the new gen reveals the effectiveness of the move to your oppa
I’ll be honest, I was bit disappointed to not hear the scream when Golem used Explosion.
Guzma taught me that can be a threat
masquerain deserves more love its so cool

I don't even play pokemon like this any more, but I love your content my guy 🙏🏼
Guzmas masquerain swept me😢
2 explosions in one video but no “WTF Boom” sound effect. I’m sad now.
Good sweeps tho

hey I'd love to see you cooking with the forgotten Walmart version of serperior, lurantis! can you give it a try?
Video idea:try to make spidops viable cuzz everyone is disrespecting their friendly neighborhood spidops
Are you telling me that x pokemon is a threat if it's able to set up?! Wow! Who would've thought...
I dislike how they just throw Protean/Libero on anything now, awesome stuff casting some light on lesser used mons
Nothing like a bowl of Reese's Puffs and a Haydunn video
A wise Golem once said "My mango is to blow up and then act like I don't know nobody."
Have you ever tried a sweeper goodra?
Goodra @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Rest
- Acid Armor
- Body Press
Hydration Rest is my favorite gimmick with gooer.
Is it hesui?
@@karanXd considering hisuian goodra does not get Hydration, no.
It also doesn't get scald.

I like Masquerain. Used him a lot back in X/Y (the last Pokémon games I played)
Love your videos.
Would be epic if you start putting rental codes in the description!
use moushold with kings rock if its not banned yet
8:11 You Sir won a sub for that reverence alone
First. Potato or whatever you ask us to say at the end of videos lol🎉
You know, I hope they give evos to some pikachu clones in future games.
Pachirisu and emolga especially.
Who else is catching BODIES with Masquerain on RUclips?! 👀 Haydunn is a legend 🤌🏾

On what tier do you are using those teams
Love to see this. One of my favorite Pokémon. Ninjask scyther pinsir and magmar are also part of the top 5
lotsa bugs
Plz do delcatty. Huge attack stat
QD Masquerain is a real pain in Pokémon Showdown Randbats. If you're not careful, it'll sweep you.
I don't know why but my entire childhood i thought that masqueraine had Drizzle.
I like using throat spray bug buzz, myself. Nobody sees that coming on my all-offense galvantula lol
Could work for masqurain too!
With Masquerain having Bug Buzz, would Throat Spray be another good held item option? Or is life orb better?
Yo bro i made a team for a game i play could you rate it
Mega kangaskhan
Tanky gliscor
Toxapex
Spdef tank incineroar
Volcarona
And dracovish
Never miss a Haydunn video, they are quality entertainment 100% of the time
Can you do shiny Golispod next? It's my favorite mon and I'd love a Tournament viable version of it (shiny cuz I name him Red X from teen titans)

no "WTF BOOM" sound effect on the golem explosion?? you've changed
I caught 2 shiny Masqueraine in Area 0, and then realised sticky web is a pre/Evo move, so I guess I have 2 quiver dance sweepers hahaha
You made, what I thought, was one of the dumbest Pokémon into a murder machine. Well played sir
Always love seeing these forgotten mons get some love. You never fail to entertain bro. Been a fan since the gen 4 wifi days 👊🏿
I just wish Masquerain kept Surskit’s Bug/Water type. But at least now we can have a Tera Water Masquerain.
Found you on TikTok love your videos and I’m glad you have a RUclips I definitely subscribe
I love Masquerane. Wish it was a bit faster and generally easier to find back in the og Ruby and Sapphire.
Love seeing Hayden give PU mons like Masquerain the respect they deserve!
If that’s a technician Scyther, shouldn’t Bug Bite do more damage than X Scissor?
And THAT is why masquerain is one of my faves. It’s suuuuper underrated

Has anyone ran endure reversal blaziken in competitive? I imagine with proper set up that can be a lot of fun.
My fav hoen bug type 🎉🎉
Does Scyther no longer get Bug Bite? Because Technician boosted Bug Bite is stronger than X-Scissor
This thing recieved the highest post gen buff of any Pokemon gaining a whole 40 bst points in gen 7
This thing bodied my whole team once reminding of why I always used it in the og sapphire game
We need the “what the fuck BOOOOOOOM” edit on explosions again
I like how you pick the most random Pokemon fo make threats.
Donut finally getting to use what it was meant for, finished the story!!!!!!
Can u do oratorio yellow form plz? So that way when someone decides to swords dance u get the boost and can steal their stats
I use prankster maquerein on my aaa team (almost any ability) and it works wonders
I cant wait until you start winning on the draft league bro.
its most likely not gonna happen my brother
His opponents sweat too hard for that, fam.
Hayden, can you do a video using a lv 1 wooper with a bad nature in a battle
I miss the meme sound added whenever you use explosion, needs a comeback
I caught a shiny one of these in a nuzlocke in Pokémon starlet and violet and after using the damage calculator, I should be able to set up against Geeta’s Espathra and sweep.

That was actually insane. I want masquerain now
This one I’ve been playing it on my 3ds. Also note Surskit that is actually faster than masquerain and can set the webs
