Minimize Muk is the bane of my existence. I keep aerial ace on my Kleavor just for that slimeball.
I literally lost to an Alolan Muk because of this. I never should have taken aura sphere off of my Archuladon 😂
Isn't evasion like the lowest boost in the game? Used to be pretty low increase in gen 1.

To get up to plus six likely getting wrecked before you do. Kinda pointless after the first 2 stages.
Pretty strong into Pokémon using like thunder or something though or fire blast. Kinda sucks have a +1 stage though against 100% moves.
@@Joshwaheazo Alolan Muk has Power of Alchemy so it's usually next to a Moody Smeargle to gain it's ability after it goes down (usually explosion/memento)
@@osmall111Oooh spicy. Not really played any Pokémon past gen 4, did like half of gen 5. Moody is the random stat boosts right? Can it get Huge Power? Is that what it's called?
@@Joshwaheazo Yeah, Moody eventually boosts all your stats to max level. Your only option at that point is Haze
I feel like the important things about Alolan Muk, defensively, are
- Its typing means it cant be poisoned unless your opponent brings Salazzle
- It has one weakness to Ground, and its not even a quad weakness
- Dark also means its immune to Prankster bs
- Muk is crazy bulky by default and its stat distribution really favors moves like Curse
- Poison Touch just means it can win against every non poison or steel type by attrition when the stars align
And don't forget about its hidden ability, Power of Alchemy, in double battles, like pairing it with a Medichan, knocking it out so Muk can use Pure Power, or Dancer from Oricorio so it can also use dancing moves like Dragon Dance while still being able to attack.
@@spiritwolf3103 That ability is better used on other pokemon though. Like Receiver Passimian going through the roof if you pair him with Misty Explosion Azumarill and he can inherit Huge Power and activate his Weakness Policy.
PoA and Receiver are inherently kinda weird to set up and its a doubles only strategy. But I get you - if you can pull it off, it makes Muk even better.
My man seriously threw half his team under the bus to try and intimidate Muk down and still couldn't pull it off, lol

I used an Alolan Muk, which I named Skittles, in my vanilla Sun team a long time ago, and he was a godsend against Totem Kommo-o

I always love Muk. I actually used the regular one and tried the Alolan Muk competitively back during the XY and SM days. Nice seeing it get some attention for this video!

25:14 That's the curse of alola. I don't think there was a single fast alolan native pokemon except toguedemaro who was protected by armor, cutiefly who managed to protect itself with dust, tapu koko who exists in a terrain of its own not effected by the outside world and lyconrock out of sheer luck.
Every other fast pokemon introduced in gen 7 where either not native to alola such as the regional variants of kanto pokemon or ultra beasts.

I gotta one of the funniest moments I had with Muk was going up against someone using Registeel. Could not get rid of that one since I decided to make it chunky boy with black sludge item and acid armor. Earthquake barely did anything to it and I laughed that I landed an ice punch on the Registeel and froze it. What added more was I got max turns on it too
Caught one and used it in the dragon challenge.
Ended up really liking it and keeping it for the final team.

Dude, Alolan Muk carried me through my first playthrough of Gen 7.
With his only weakness being Ground type, my Primarina could easily cover for any Rock or Ground types that we came across.

A.Muk quickly became one of my favourite mons from gen 7 to the point where I went out of my way to farm for a shiny Grimer which I then never used because shiny A.Grimer is perfection and I just didn't wanna risk ruining that.

Alolan Muk was my first Shiny I found in Pokemon Moon. I got lucky and got him in super early in a playthrough. He hard carried in that game, too. Surprised me how good he could be.

i dont play competitively but i do love alolan muk. not the mega it couldve used, but the new typing and move options made such a significant difference regardless
I love Alolan Muk. Can be a problem if you don’t take care of it quick. I was able to take one down with trick room after it used its HA and copied Blazekin Speed boost.
In gen 7 meta I used to use Mega Lopunny + Alolan Muk core. Muk was amazing as mix wall

Gen-7 is actually my favorite generation. I wasn't big on Z-Moves but USUM was my favorite Pokedex. I play VGC a lot more than Smogon Singles and VGC 2018 was (in my opinion) the most fun year of VGC of the DS/3DS era

Alolan Muk is one of my favorite pokemon overall and I’ve been playing since the OG Red, Blue & Yellow
I want “sometimes you just have to raw dog a hurricane” on a T-shirt with haydunns logo
The reason a lot of the alolan mons are so slow is because when you’re in Hawaii you want to take things slow and relax
