  • The M48 is the first catamaran that Prestige has ever produced and we shot an in-depth tour on the Prestige stand during the 2023 Düsseldorf Boat Show.
    In this review and walkthrough tour, Jack Haines gets to grips with the first model in the M-Line power catamaran range to show you everything including the deck spaces, salon, three-cabin accommodation and engine room(s).
    The M48 is available with three or our four cabins and with a pair of 320hp Volvo Penta D4 engines will top out at 20 knots.

    For that small length, amazing space inside. The owner "suite" is amazing

    Aquilla 44 with the foil option from the 42 (They claim 30% fuel saving from the foil)......
    Or the 42 with the nice owners suite....
    The cabin in the bow is just a waste of money as is the bow bathroom - all that work and fitting for something with no use.
    Top effort Jack, as always

    I really like the prestige pc. I agree the crew quarters would be better for storage. I also like the Horizon pc60. I think both of these are using better design features

  • @guidedmeditation2396
    @guidedmeditation2396 7 месяцев назад

    This boat is loaded with appealing features but I find the Salon lacking. Just a single U-shaped dinette with no opposing seating. Perhaps many people will not care but there is a segment that does.

    I don't like the lack of headroom on the flybridge, the crew cabin arrangement is laughable and the fact that the engines are covered over with boards encourages you to use that storage space but will therefore make doing daily checks of strainers and oil a right pain in the arse.
    The cabins, especially the master are lovely.
    Great channel, absolutely loving your work.

    I like the Prestige better than the Aquila and the FPMY6. I would have the two cabins in the bow. Also, I would do away with the crew cabins and put showers in, so you don't have to have wet heads. maybe tweak the Vip for the master.

    Prestige should stick to mono hulls and leave the power catamarans to Aquila. Good vid again thankyou Jack well presented.

    1:17 Ok, so the garage is there (and pretty massive), I can see the stuff laying on the deck will provide some trip-hop, but where is the jungle?

    No 240volt power output in galley to boil a kettle. But a nice looking boat , how much to moor this type of boat ?.

    Niiiiiice boat and some interesting design.....yet overall, too narrow for catamaran. It's a 2 hulled motor boat, designed by a monohull power boat designer.

    Very nice boat and I think that the first manufacturer that designs and builds a cat with actual performance to go with the smoother ride(30 plus knots) will sell out immediately! Some of us prefer some “bang” for our couple million bucks 😂 As far as the vid: 👍👍

    not a fan of the use of space on the main deck. there is a dinette and a galley. thats it. i think they have overdone the space in the main cabin and underdone the space for daily living and entertaining. the exterior is nice and it will be great in the med or the tropics as long as it is not too hot but i think they have some work to do on the interior. im looking forward to see how they refine it over time. the engine spaces are just bad. ill take the aquila over this for now - i would actually even take the new leopard.

    • @8654ZuluFoxtrot
      @8654ZuluFoxtrot 11 месяцев назад +1

      From reading your comments I think we're both looking for something similar. I too agree the main living space is very poorly laid out and I would easily pick the Leopard or Aquila over this. This one does have several things I do like, as in the choice of bolted down furniture (I think it just looks better than the molded), but the main living space and the engine rooms lack of accessibility is a HUGE deterrent. I also prefer the front door leading onto the bow area provided by the Leopard layouts.
      If I could find something similar to the layout you get with the Horizon PC52 where they understand that space inside the main living space is precious and they, get this crazy idea, enclose (fully or partially) the fly deck so you can captain the boat no matter the weather from there and leave the living space for...well....living, my money would go there. Unfortunately, Horizon is out of my price range and I don't "need" the extra luxury touch they put into their yachts.

    • @ironichumorist
      @ironichumorist 11 месяцев назад

      @@8654ZuluFoxtrot the front door on the leopard is a huge plus. i can imagine swinging on anchor with the head wind always flowing through from there. and i agree the new horizon designs are amazing.

    It just looks awkward, "not ready for prime time", almost what its supposed to be, w/o a 24-25 foot beam (2:1 L to W) that really makes a cat, a cat vs cat-ish. Yeah, it tops most boats in the 50 to 60 foot range (fold down sides would really make it THE boat in that range), but still..... Would you trust it, with enough fuel, to cross an ocean thō?

    • @aardvarkmindshank
      @aardvarkmindshank 11 месяцев назад +1

      Definitely not. I wouldn’t take this across any stretch of water long enough that you couldn’t absolutely predict the weather. Agree about the fold down sides. That would make it even better. I also feel it should be a fair bit wider.

    the free standing furniture looks cheap, and you lose the ability to have storage underneath or convert the backrests and zero cup holders. I'd pass.
