Testing the New 50ft Flybridge King? Meet the Prestige F4

- The brand new Prestige F4 is very important for the French giant. Not only is this three-cabin, 50ft flybridge cruiser wading into one of the most competitive sectors in the market but this new model sets the tone for the next generation of Prestige F-Line models.
In this in-depth review, walkthrough tour and sea trial, Jack Haines puts the Prestige F4 to the test to see where it stands against competitors like the Princess F50, Galeon 530 Fly and Absolute 52 Fly.
Designed in partnership with naval architect Michael Peters and long-time Prestige designer Camillo Garoni, the F4 boasts a striking new look, which will be introduced across the F-Line range and a return to a forward owner’s suite with two guest cabins amidships. The spacious owner’s cabin, forward, has excellent headroom and a large ensuite with the VIP and twin guest cabins sharing the space amidships.
On deck, the cockpit seating is arranged along the centre line in a design move first seen in Prestige’s X-Line range and in the saloon, the novel aft galley runs across the saloon rather than along it to create a large, more sociable kitchen space.
Volvo Penta IPS650 (480hp) is the only engine option and will push the Prestige F4 to a top speed just shy of 30 knots and a 22-knot cruise.

Hands down this is the best yacht review channel. I love the fact that Capt Jack operates some of these beautiful machines and gives a review on it operations. The 50ft yacht size is a nice sweet spot for most.Thank you for sharing Capt Jack.
I agree. Honestly don't see the point in boat reviews on channels where they hardly ever actually drive them. It's like reviewing a car while it's sitting on your driveway.
Thanks very much for the kind words!
the footage 1:40 to 1:50.. wow
actually, much and all of that was incredible footage
This is a lovely boat and a great review as always, Prestige are upping their game here. My 50 footer of choice would be the Sasga Menorquin 54. Classic design, semi-displacement hull, 1200 mile range at 8 knots and it's CE Category A. All that for around a million euros.
Great review Jack, very enjoyable and a very impressive boat.
First class review. Excellent.
Beautiful boat, great review! Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
This review is very good Jack, as they always are 👍 many thanks.
Thanks Nick, it’s appreciated - Jack
Great vid and content as ever! I'm still waiting for the 50ft boat that impresses me as much as the Galeon 500 fly (and is that design not about 10 years old now?)
What a lovely Lady of the Sea with a bit of umph. She well balanced in the turns or on the straight great movability. There's a smile in Jacks face as he moves her around while upstairs.
Even downstairs the good news goes on around the helm apart from a couple of queries. After the review i got the impression that Prestige are upping their games in the decorations of the Saloon, cabins, sunbathing at the prow and gly bridge. Crew sounds as if is a bit small and cramped and an ok engine room. All in all she a nice package a Prestigeous boat.
I was interested when you did the accommodation tour Jack as every Prestige I’ve been on has annoyingly squeaky floors.Glad to see on this one it was minimal.Would still prefer personally the Azimut 53 for the all round package
Things like that really matter
Couldn't agree more about the squeaky floors!! Galeon have some great boats at this size with much better tricks and finish!
That's a really impressive boat for that money, very nice yacht and superb video. 👏👏
Have Princess Yachts fallen asleep? Hoping the Yachtbuyer team will be working your magic on the new S72 sometime. 👍❤️🇬🇧
They made one of the first reviews of the S72 in Düsseldorf
@@michaelschneider3446 👍they did and the S72 is in desperate need of a Yacht buyer sea trial. 😜👍
Jack, where is the tan? With all of those fly bridge shots and marina visits, come on! LOL! Love watching your yacht tours and feedback.
You can take the pasty Englishman out of England..! Thanks for watching - Jack
Very good review as always. All so professional.
Nice and interesting boat. I really don't like the artificial Teak deck. Real Wood is much better under the feet that that cheap looking plastic
IMO, the've done a great job with the interior styling - sleek & modern without it being something that's going to look outdated in 2 years. Bonus points for those BA Logo handles, I liked them.
Cool, huh!
Thanks from İstanbul
Teşekkürler!
50ft fly? The Galeon 500 fly can even have a tender garage and on the main deck more space
And Absolutes 52 is a diferent dimension in terms of space
and don't forget the rotating cockpit seats and the flexible bow seating. IMO I've not seen anything yet that can beat the Galeon 500 fly!
Designers worked hard on that one. Saw a picture of the Sunseeker 65 sport yacht and copied it...
Great tour Jack. Do you know if there will be a S4 version coming soon?
I don't know for sure and Prestige didn't mention it but I imagine it's in the pipeline... - Jack
Would be interesting with a price comparison with for example a Princess or Azimut with similar spec? This is a nice boat but some things are clearly cheaper done so there should be a considerable price difference in my opinion
Cracking boat. How much do they listen to press feedback I wonder? The trim tab location seems like an easy fix, be a shame to not take that feedback on
Hands down, the Galeon 50 fly is MUCH better for not much more. I can't understand why only Galeon has fold down sides which just transforms any boat.
Totally agree!!!! Every time I watch a boat review for a 50 footer of this style I can't help comparing it to the Galeon 500 fly. The galeon 'seems' to offer so much more e.g. rotating cockpit seating, drop balconies, tender garage, flexible seating or sun bathing at the bow. Meh maybe we're missing something and the build quality isn't as good on the Galeon but I'm struggling to find something that will beat it in terms of space.
@@MrArchie800 if Absolutes' fly series (and the navettas maybe) had fold down sides, they couldn't build enough of them. The only boat in the 50s with the most space and would rule that range if it had fold down sides, is the M48 cat. Now if the M48 had the class defining 2:1+ L:W ratio vs it's awkward looking 16 foot beam, IT would very likely rule the 40 to 50 foot cat class.
I was wondering why the price was so low at the beginning. Got the answers throughout the video.
Great yacht if you’re cool giving up a few (dozen) features and capabilities and a less well thought out boat overall than the ones costing a few hundred k more.
What are the features being given up except small crew cabin/storage and saloon?
I just noticed there is no space for mooring lines at bow or stern!
Hi Jack hope all is well love your reviews, one question I'm in west coast of US, looking at a 2022 Pearl 62 or a 2023 Absolute 60 fly. In your expert opinion which would have a slight edge?? Thanks a lot and keep up the good work.
Absolute is much better quality.
@@keithhughes2104 I totally felt the same way but wanted confirmation. Thanks again
Good review as usual, what is the price of the boat as tested with seakeeper etc?
They wouldn't supply the "as tested" price, unfortunately.
That means it's probably around £1.5m and they didn't want to frighten off potential buyers!@@Yachtbuyer
What would bother me about the fly: the railing above the wind deflector, which you constantly have in mind. I liked the Princess 55 better.
Didn't Vair, ine come out with a different hull design that prevents hull slap?
Hmmm..has potential but looks like work in progress. Helm design is a mess. Daft trying to cram in crew quarters on a boat of this size. Decent views only when sitting down. A little too homely inside. Other than that, ok.

Good look around Jack…….. with the Bimini stowed as shown, the boat is right on the limit of my eyes “top heavy” register….. I’m guessing with the Bimini up or a hard top, it would be way over 🙁
I’m not keen on the galley across the aft, not that I have any inspired alternative, preferring the lounging space to flow from the cockpit into the cabin…. again, the cabins all looked good, but access was a bit compromised
Plenty performance and looked entertaining from the “racing” helm on the roof…….. probably less welcome to any guests below……😅
How many L/h does it consumes at cruising speed?
Thanks Jack! 😅
My pleasure, Chris! - Jack
@@Yachtbuyer I've always been a big fan of yours.
Your practical, comprehensive approach on these vids is apparent. Thanks for the hard work.
My pleasure!
Amazing yacht... However, did anyone else notice the damage just below the waterline on the bow? Both sides, and best visible during first 5 minutes.
I believe that's the cut-out for the bow thruster tunnel where the antifoul hasn't quite covered the join - Jack
I see what you mean. It had me puzzled because the "white lines" were different on each side. Anyway, My wife and I LOVE your videos and your channel. Keep up the amazing work! :)
@@Yachtbuyer
That’s great to hear, thanks so much for the support.
The proportion don't feel right; The saloon feels like a 40 foot'er (the door in the middle doesn't make sense). Tthe lower windows seem overly thin (I lile the owner's suite in the bow).
Other than that, it's a decent boat! 👍
Great videography, chaps!
That's a very nice comment, which is in direct contrast with your username. Thanks!
@@Yachtbuyer yeah, well
Fairline 50 GT.
I thought a side door was for the captain.
Versus the Squadron 50...
Why does it look like it’s coming straight from the nineties? Yacht design has moved to quite a bit the last 30 years. Or is this boat targeting a 80+ market? They should have tested the design earlier to see, if it resonates with buyer and rental market.
No place to put the mooring lines at fore or aft!
I had to look it up but was very surprised to learn that Prestige boats are built in France!! How surprising!! I am NOT impressed. I think if you’re going to spend that sort of money, there is much better competition out there, especially in that size of boat. And better yet, it would be more preferable to own even a second-hand, larger boat from a more successful brand, in my humble opinion.
You've lost a lot of weight mate. Well done.
Get a new mic. This is the only channel I can't hear.
I was noticing the volume getting a bit weak a few times and I'm about topping out my volume level. I think it could be fixed in editing with some gain...
Sorry about that, Tom, we'll work on it for the next one.
