thanks for this mate. i can't afford to buy these comics but fortunately my local library are stocking up a bunch of Dawn of X trades 1-16. really lucky, oh and they also have X of Swords. the library has been a real life saver.

Yeah, I have to admit that as much as Hickman amazed me with House of X / Powers of X (The best bloody book of that year, whenever it came out :D), the next 10 or so issues that followed were a huge nothing for me. So I consider HoX/PoX to be a masterpiece of its own, one and done great modern X-Men book. But, back to the 90s after this for me :D

I think Very Fine condition has said these trades aren't getting collected, that Marvel will be putting be putting out OHC's of the main stories (like they've done). I think it's the same for Reign of X

@@MADDROBB thank you dude! And this is following the usual Marvel script: no reprint but there's a CC out now. I wouldn't delay on that trade either because I have no idea if they'd prioritize reprinting a CC.

If you want to know about why young Cable is a thing, I would recommend reading eXtermination, the 2018 miniseries that resolves around time displaced x-men.
Also couldn’t have said it better myself on Hellions, the art and story are fantastic. I also love the focus on characters like Empath and Greycrow. This deserves an OHC yesterday!!
Also read SWORD when you get the chance, that book is also phenomenal!!

Thanks for the rundown! I'm reading and loving all of Dawn of X...my X of Swords HC is inbound as we speak, so pumped to dive in.
If you haven't looked yet, check out the comparisons of Giant Size X-Men Jean Grey and Emma Frost, and Fantomex...to Morrison's New X-Men. It's such a great love letter, and confirms my own personal canon that Hickman's run is very influenced by it.

Hm considering you mentioned all titles don’t really crossover with each other. I might default collecting getting their individual trades for a smoother read than dawn of x trades then?
you can do that, sure! I have the titles that are out listed in Tpb in my description. They are the titles I would read anyway lol

Just finished dawn of X TPB vol 6 & I love the majority of it so far but just to clarify If I plan on reading everything i need to read all 16 volumes before X of swords right ?

I'm about to start reading the Dawn of X titles, and it seems like DoX showcases the first half-ish of the mutant titles and X of Swords showcases the second half.
With that being said, I don't want to have to read all of the titles because I've tried doing that in the past and the information overload was overwhelming, ESPECIALLY if some of the arcs weren't written well. I just want to read the story arcs that are the most important to the plot, and then maybe read 1 or 2 of the titles for pure interesting side content.
So in your opinion, which of the Dawn of X titles are the MOST important to read? Which story arc(s) is/are going to give me more bang for my buck? Which ones are going to cover most of the plot points I need to know before continuing to read those story arcs?

So I am finally reading this, so my question is, do the Dawn of x/ Reign of x/Trails of X trades leave any books out? Cause I want to read every single thing and I believe the easiest way to do that is by reading these trades but also need to knowbif I also have to pick up any individual comics
I can only answer for Dawn of X as I haven't read anything else but you can read from House of X/Powers of X through Dawn of X to Sword of X without needing anything else

You should also get the Wolverine trade too because the dawn of x trades leave out the B story from Wolverine #1 it was a big oversized issue. Or just download Wolverine #1. I'm not sure why they left it out. Maybe so you'd buy an extra book. And the xmen empyre is part of the Empyre event from last year. It was kinda the event for the regular metahumans at the end of last year while the xmen had their event x of swords. Also was the FCBD xmen issue collected in any of those books. It's something that leads into the x of swords stuff. It's just a short little issue but its cool.
(I also liked reading Deadpool and the Tini Howard Strikeforce book were fun reads. They had some crossover with the new xmen stuff like Deadpool butthurt cause he wasn't invited to Krakoa. Strikeforce also connects to War of the Realms but I hadn't read WotR yet. But none of that is necessary just fun little ass ons.)

I ended up getting DoX trades and continuing into RoX. Are you planning to upgrade any of your TPBs?
I'll be getting the OHC's of X-Men and Marauders and Hellions when it gets resolicited. I'm hopeful it gets resolicited as that was my favorite story!
@@OmnidogsVault Omar did confirm that Hellions will come back as a bigger book. Possibly, they might throw in a combination of Fallen Angels, X of Swords, and/or other titles that doesn't have a HC solicitation.

Thanks Omnidog, great summary and critique! Just started Dawn of X vol 1, and have all vol's up to 11 - ordering the rest and will finish series, and still awaiting my X of Swords HC. Are all of the contents of your Giant-sized X-men in the Dawn of X trades? Only have Jean Grey & Emma Frost and Nightcrawler so far up to Vol 11. Hoping others will be printed in the following volumes. Thanks again for another quality video!!!

I found the Zdarsky 4X offering pretty meh. It went almost nowhere and was somewhat boring. Doom and Valeria saved the whole thing from being bad with Val doing Val things. Kitty and her former squeeze were forgettable...
