I loved the Worlds' Finest title! Mark Waid always kills it, and the art is fantastic. The book gave me huge nostalgia for the Justice League cartoons for some reason. I loved it too!
Sir, what were the chances of you casually owning my top 5 favorite runs of all time? Having them placed behind you so majestically like that; 4 outta the 5 I'm talking about are: •The Spectre (I dunno if that's the John Ostrander's or the J.M's run... I prefer John's, however I rock with both heavy) •Swamp Thing by Alan Moore •Animal Man by Grant Morrison •Green Lantern by Geoff Johns The other one is Superman - Up in the Sky by Tom King (Which i'm not seeing but I'm certain you'd own such a masterpiece) You are the definitive Goat and I've subbed just for that.
Well THANK YOU for the nice compliment and the sub!! And for shring your awesome taste in comics! My Up in the Sky is in the other room with all my DC hardcovers and trades - I love that book so much! The Spectre omnibus is from the 1960's-70's so it's the Michael Fleischer incredibly violent stuff. Would love an Ostrander omni!!
OMNIDOG!! Another great video and DC is my favorite. That Batman Failsafe is just awesome. Glad you liked it. Catwoman Lonely City is on my TOP 5 for the year so far. If you get the DM version of Lonely City, the dust jacket turns into a poster of all the characters and production designs of the story. Good job. Cheers!
That World's Finest and Failsafe is on the top of my "next' buys list. I was really curious about Rogues after seeing it on a shelf in a Books A Million. Was on the fence about that Catwoman book till your video with Bar and it's been inching it's way up my list as well. Thanks for the reviews!!
One by one fantastic books,I´ve really enjoyed them a lot. There´s magic happening when DC let´s these creators do non canon stories. I hope Mark Russel gets to do many more of those satirical works for DC. All right on to part 2.
Loved watching you talk about those books. Your love and passion for comics is so evident from these videos. I really need to pick up World's Finest and Failsafe as I've already heard enough good things about those. Also may be DC vs Vampires 😁 booohooo...my wallet's already crying!
As always The great omnidog dropping the knowledge and creating hype for books. All great reads but Lonely city and Failsafe are just awesome, still have not read worlds finest yet. Hoping a dlx is announced
Worlds finest is still going with a volume 2 hardcover coming out soon. I’m guessing when the run is finished they will release a complete omnibus or something like that
@@Swamp-Bat I've read some more of WF on the DC app and it's so great! I don't know what DC will do with any of these standard sized books. I'm happy with them as they are.
The issue that comes after the World’s Finest hardcover, #6, is one of my favorite modern DC single issues. Mora is not the artist but the fill-in artist is great too.
12:59 A couple years ago I did a massive Batman by Morrison reading order, which included their run on JLA plus Tower of Babel (the thick trade collection of JLA book 4 has the last of Morrison and the start of Waid as the lead writer). Really enjoying the current Batman and Detective books
@@OmnidogsVault I have it written down somewhere. It also was an excuse for me to catch up on some random DC events that I hadn't read, so not everything in the list is by Morrison, but everything does, on some level, add context for their run
Jess - Is it possible to list the books you discuess in the description of your videos. I always listen to them but forget one or two books you mentioned then end up having to go.back and find the beginning of the part of the video to hear the name
Yeah sure! I didn't want to do that for the first couple of hours because I thought people would cheat and just look at the list lol and not watch the video. But I'll add them by 3 PM EST
If you watch any interview with Mr.Waid on Worlds Finest, you will obtain the secret knowledge of the pronunciation because your attempts at it are killing me
DC is boring to me now. Tired of Batman and Bat related titles. I like DC Black. Most of the rest of regular DC is just mehhhh. Looking forward to Phantom Stranger Omni though.
@@OmnidogsVault Yeah you mentioned it in the video that you know people are sort of "over" batman. I know it's a cash cow for them. But they have so many cool characters. Why's it always gotta be Bruce and Clark?
@@crashline totally get it, that's why I especially highlighted the Black Label books where it's creators doing whatever they want with whatever characters they want

I just love that DC always gives writers a go to write standalone stories like with the Black Label books. Good inventive stories at the forefront.
they really stand out!
Another great overview, love your knowledge of comicbooks!

I really loved One Star Squadron and forgot to mention Russell puts himself in the story and pokes fun at himself!! Magical.
Great picks! I loved that Rouges book in particular. Digging DC Black Label.
Yeah DC Black Label books are all A+ with me, I feel like I cna just blind buy them at this point and be happy!

There is Joker in Failsafe. In the backup story 😢
can't seem to escape him!
I don't understand why they can't do the same thing they did with Byrne's she-hulk book-have 5 issues in the can before printing it.🤔🤔🤔
I have no idea about any of the decisions any of these publishers make tbh lol
Failsafe was good but the writer failed to stick the landing IMO. World’s Finest I’m definitely going to get next.
