    I got my 6 cuz I had no clue about cars. I just knew I loved the way the Challengers looked. Had I known, I would've got an RT. But, outside of the sound, it's not that much of a difference (performance wise) between the SXT/RT. Stock vs stock, the RT will win the race for sure, but it's not by a lot. And 3 years later, after all my mods, I'm still content with my SXT. And if I did get the RT, it would be for sound alone...and I wouldn't trade my SXT for it.

    One thing the video does not address is the difference in gas mileage of the v6 vs the Hemi 5.7. Comparing two nearly the same cars; The Dodge Charger R/T and the Chrysler 300 with v6. Though not the Challenger in this case but this is just to show an eye opening experience of what I experienced . Same road trip from South Florida to Reddington Shores, just north of Clearwater, FL. At 80 mph the Chry 300 v6 got 29 mpg and the Charger R/T Hemi got 27 mpg. Both cars used less than half a tank of fuel. At 70 mph the Chrysler 300 v6 gets 32mpg and the Charger R/T got 29 mpg. At speeds 65 mph and lower the mpg's between the v6 and v8 were only a 1 to 2 mpg difference. I was very surprised that there was only a very small difference in miles per gallon between the two engines, I was expecting a much larger difference. Well, not in this case. Now going back to the original question; should you buy a v-6? I would say no. Go for the Hemi version. I agree with the author about the price spread going from a v-6 to a Hemi. Yes, it's pretty steep considering it's at least an $8,000 to $10,000 jump to go with the Hemi. But, if you can swing it, do it. I think the 5.7 Hemi is a very fuel efficient engine for what it is and gives outstanding performance. This is based on my practical experience. I've been testing these vehicles for a long time.

    I have one , a 2010 se , modified with true dual exhaust with Flowmasters , lowered, a cold air induction system, a 93 octane tune, so 300 hp and 275 foot pounds of torque. In 2024 it has 94,000 miles and the only problems I had was a bad door lock actuator and a battery. It has been a great car.

    Did this kid take his dad's stock V6 Challenger out to make a hater video on Challengers? I can't wait to see the day this clown post his ride home from the dealership in his V8 Challenger! See you in 20 years! 😂🤣😂

    • @ModestlyMinted
      @ModestlyMinted  Месяц назад +1

      You really typed all that out, looked it over, and chose to hit send anyways 🤓
      The car was a rental and while I was sarcastic in some parts the review was honest. It’s an okay car as a daily, but the build quality is subpar and anyone who is looking for something fast is going to be disappointed.
      I’m guessing since you said it’s my dad’s V6 and that in 20 years I’ll buy a V8 that you’re insinuating that I can’t afford one now, so I posted a hater video of the V6, but really hope of one day having enough money to buy a V8. Great work detective. You really did your research to come to that conclusion 🤡

    • @ModestlyMinted
      @ModestlyMinted  6 месяцев назад +6

      Like I said at the end of the video I personally wouldn’t opt for a V6 version of a muscle car. That being said 10k is a staggering amount of money for some. Someone else may care more about the looks than the actual power of the car. In spite of some of the sarcasm in the video for that type of buyer this might actually be a good daily driver. The same argument could be made for why buy an R/T when the SRT wasn’t that much more. Usually the choice just comes down to what someone can actually afford.

    meh, I'd never own a car that big with a v6. There's lot's of tubo 4 cylinders that are faster, and even have a better top speed.
    My nissan juke has a top speed of 138, the v6 challenger is only rated at 125 for top speed.

    • @ModestlyMinted
      @ModestlyMinted  6 месяцев назад +3

      I agree with you and would take a turbo 4 cylinder over a V6 challenger as well. In regard to your top speed comment though, the amount of time it takes to get there is more important than the actual top speed in my opinion. I had an 8th gen SI many years ago with a factory claimed top speed of 144mph. It would’ve taken a runway the length of the one in Fast and Furious 6 to reach that top speed in that car. After a certain speed the car just fell on its face.

      Dam they must've cut them back, I've got a 2013 sxt rally redline & only opened it up twice & hit 128 the first time & 142 the second but it never limited out then got busted by the same trooper that warned me the day before (only had it a month) he said he clocked 137 then when he turned his lights on he clocked 93 then 70 ! When he walked up he told me my brakes were smoking & wrote me a ticket for 70 & was telling me about getting brake pad every 2 months. That was 6 yrs ago I've got 155k on it now & with the exception of 1 fuel pump & 1 door latch & just replaced the factory Battery I've had no problems but I take care of it & maintain it.😊

      In the muscle car era, people would look down on anything with less than 400 ci. Almost nothing has an engine that big today. My 1969 Mustang Mach 1 put out 250 hp, the Pentastar V6 puts out 300. The vast majority of drivers do not need to go 0-60 in under 6 seconds and will never push their car over 100 mph. Why would they spend the extra money? The V6s are not nearly as popular with thieves, they won't wake up your neighbors, and you can run regular gas in them.

    • @tyransaffoldjr
      @tyransaffoldjr Месяц назад

      The EcoBoost Mustang will give RTs a hard time, too. So will V6 Camaros. And that's without them being modded. V6 Chally is governed at 140.
