    Although there the hook emplacements for a spring on the handbrake lever to act as a return force, there is not, from the factory , necessarily a spring f

      cont : a spring fitted. When the rubber dust cap behind the handbrake lever wears out, this will cause the lever to bind. Consequently affecting the handbrake cable tension and even snapping the ridiculous plastic clip that holds the nipples on the end of the two cables (inside the car under the console) and causing the cables to drop out of place and the handbrake itself to flop around doing nothing. For info, Ive seen other videos where guy's add the spring when the lever binds. TBH...Im not sure the spring is obligatory if the dust cap is in good condition. They definitely didn't fit one at the factory on mine. Just saying....sorry, a bit long.
