Always remember ladies.....IF it was THAT simple.....EVERYONE would be doing it. Regarding staying at home, I INSISTED my wife stay at home to manage the house, raise our child, etc, hence I have been the full-time breadwinner for the 30+ years of our marriage. WE have NOT REGRETTED that decision - most importantly to have a parent RAISE our son rather than a pre-school or day care. Glad to hear you sobered up....or ESCAPED...or both. America went to shit when BOTH parents started working. Learn to live on ONE income people....you won't be rich, but your children will be ALL the more better. Odds are you'll still be quite comfortable without 2 incomes.... Side note: We paid off our son's college education and our house is paid off LONG ago. I would say we are comfortable...
From what I"ve seen - ALL women should RUN from MLM's. Most of the members of the group do NOT care about your personal well-being. As I've said - SOBER UP ladies. Most of them are financial cults.....and RARELY does anyone make money...
If Charles Manson hadn't been in prison....believe me...he would have eventually formed an MLM...actually he sort of did, prior to the events of August 1969.

THANK YOU so much for your love and support on this video. It's funny you say that about diamond too--- because the uplines did make such a huge thing of it (because it affects their star diamond ranks) but when I got there it was HELL trying to hold rank and it also wasn't worth all the stress. Definitely not a living wage- and only 2% (I think) make that rank. I was pretty disillusioned at that point.

@@misstaveras8028 hey, as one woman to another.. I lost 100 pounds 20 years ago and I've kept it off. I've seen this problem countless times and I ran into it myself when I thought I was plateau-ing. I know this won't be easy to hear, but I swear it's true. You're eating more than you think you are, or you're not exercising off as many calories as you think you are. Like take those cups of coffee: if you add anything to them, they can turn into calorie bombs! And most people snack and graze and nibble all day long without even remembering it all. Losing weight is very easy: eat fewer calories than you need. But so many people have trouble with accurate calorie counting. You're not a bad person if that's where you are! It's a great opportunity to figure out where you're missing calories! Once you figure it out, you'll see yourself shrink!
(That's what happened to me. I was so frustrated. I could not figure out what I was missing in my counts! Finally, my husband and I were watching a UK show called "Secret Eaters." I asked him if I was a secret eater. He said he'd noticed I was always nibbling while I cooked. He wondered if I'd taken those calories into my count. I didn't even remember doing that! But once I was aware, yes, I sure was eating hundreds of unaccounted for calories! I stopped doing that, and immediately broke through the plateau. So I'm a living example of how easy it is to miss calories.)
Good luck! You can do this.

@@misstaveras8028 I think the easiest effective exercise for calorie burning is jumping jacks. You can do it anywhere as it's an on-the-spot exercise. Even 3 minutes can be tiring and calorie burning. I try to do 3 minute jumping jacks, 3 times a day. Give it a try and see if it helps! Also vary the speed of the jumping jacks, do some medium paced ones, and throw in 10 super fast ones from time to time. Don't just keep same constant speed! Sometimes these super fast short burst exercises help towards even quicker weight-loss.

I really loved the workouts when I was involved in the company. Definitely kept me on track and they were fun (although after doing them for almost 5 years they got a bit repetitive :) ) I'm sure you can tell from my video but I would advise you not do coaching from my personal experience. Good luck with everything :)

I am really proud of you for doing this in the first place and chronicling it here...these truths need to be shared. Gullible, hard working moms get sucked in the same way you were sucked in and the way they raise their kidlets suffers...their families suffer and they are never able to reach the financial heights that their up line enjoy. Enjoy...because of you! So, you’re brave and I applaud you and I’ve subbed and will even watch ads for you to help you succeed here...try and let the negative ways this mlm hurt you fade away and replace it with the new, happy life you’re going to live now. 🥰

I really appreciate This perspective and share. I have been an active coach & non active. I simply love the workouts & shakes. I agree that any successful coach Works SO MUCH time. I’m not anti BB. I believe you should take what works for you, and leave the rest. I leave all the “coaching” but embrace the lifestyle (healthy nutrition & the workouts)

While I enjoy some of Beachbody's workouts (especially the earlier ones), I cancelled my BOD account because of the way they run their company and treat the coaches. I may pull out one of my Slim in 6 DVDs once in a while, but I'll never buy anything from them ever again.
I'm sorry for the way you were treated by your upline. She was truly awful to you.

Thank you for sharing your story! I think people who are deep into the "cult" would really benefit from hearing about your experience. The fact that you were able to identify the reasons why you were vulnerable is especially important, it is horrible that these companies prey on these vulnerabilities. I will admit I actually like some of the BB workouts, especially the early ones. I still have the T25 DVDs that have been awesome during the pandemic, I actually bought them on Ebay haha. However I would much rather support a legitimate business that supports their employees and does not exploit by using a barely legal pyramid scheme.

I know EXACTLY how you feel & how busy you actually get (& I don't even have kids or a job like what you have), but I know in MY experience, it was very time consuming... hell, even what I currently do now is time consuming! But atleast now, I do it for ME & not for the dollar I was never making!
I was a BB Coach for 7 YEARS & didn't make shit for money; but for the same reason as you, I was determined... still didn't get anywhere. In fact, it made me even more depressed because everybody ignored me on Social Media (still do). Friends & family didn't support me or even share my posts. They all got/get tired of seeing my progress pics, so I would get NOTHING for reactions. And what's even more sad is even tho I knew all this, I did like what I was doing. I only quit because I was paying MORE IN than what I was making... FOR THE ENTIRE 7 YEARS! And just yesterday, I re-enrolled to try again (after quitting in 2019), because none of my actions changed... I still work out; in fact, I like to work out & promote living a healthy active lifestyle; but when it comes down to actually SELLING a product, forget it, NONE of my friends or family ever listened to me before... it would be the same thing all over again... A WASTE OF MONEY. And I already did it for 7 years when I tried with Beachbody before. -- Why couldn't I have had this talk with myself BEFORE I jumped the gun & STUPIDLY resigned up, only to turn right around & cancel it an hour later!? Because I'm an idiot. *NOT DOING THAT AGAIN!* 😒🙄😫... Don't worry, I called Beachbody this morning to make sure my Coach Cancellation Request went through & to see if I could get my $40 back. They said yes, they see my cancellation request & the guy said I would get refunded.

You said it! "Paying me in peanuts" - my boyfriend had to talk some sense into me with a similar expression of, "but for what? They're paying you literal pennies." And this was in a similar conversation that you had with your counselor. He was like, "you can get paid pennies and we barely spend time with each other, or you cannot do that, let me make the money and we still have time to spend together and with the kids." At first I was thinking what a manipulative thing to say, but then I realized... wait... he's right. I was becoming MISERABLE doing ALL THE THINGS, but for what?? To be paid pennies, lose great connections and friends because of how gross I was coming across in messages, all for literal pennies.

Thank you for sharing your story. I can totally relate to what happened to you. My upline coach was much the same as yours and EVERY DAY she would message me about hitting diamond. I ALMOST got there. I was really close, but it didn't happen, and she was pissed because she wanted to hit 10 star elite or something and walk across the stage at summit. We were good friends also, but she became totally money hungry and that killed our friendship. She actually quit BB before I did, an wanted me to come with her on her new venture to which I made it clear I was NOT interested. I was already considering quitting myself. Anyway, she pretty much dropped me. So much for good friends. We couldn't even have a regular conversation because it would ALWAYS circle around back to BB and my business and why wasn't I diamond, and who else was I recruiting etc. It got to be too much. Quitting BB was the best thing I ever did for my own peace of mind. I did enjoy being a coach, but it stopped being fun.

Thank you for this video. I started a weightloss journey using beachbody, but I pretty much hit play then turned the app off. But I was posting about my journey on my RUclips channel and mentioned beachbody off and on.... A beachbody coach tried to recruit me and I have been reluctant because my channel is enough of a job on it's own without another platform to post on. But seeing stories like yours really motivate me to remain disinterested in ever becoming a "coach" and I have stopped mentioning beachbody at all as a part of my weightloss journey. As I don't want to send any traffic there way as much as I actually like the workouts.

The workouts are phenomenal- I’m really grateful that I started doing them. But the business model is terrible. I can’t support Beachbody anymore because of the way the company treats its distributors. I was on the BB bandwagon for 5 years. I loved just being a member and doing my workouts. I decided to join as a coach because I loved it so much. There is no way to actually make money unless you’re “scamming” people and like you said- basically working it 24/7. I stopped being a coach and went back to just using BOD but my coaching experience kinda left a bad taste in my mouth from listening to the group calls, I didn’t even do many of them. It’s really heartbreaking because I LOVED the workout program and the “Netflix” of exercise set up. I recently just got an Echelon bike for something new to try. The app has other workouts and I’m enjoying that now. Although I may eventually do the yearly Bod membership again in the future without all the other garbage. It’s just sad that I can love it so much but hate it at the same time.

    • @BrandyMurray
      @BrandyMurray  3 года назад +1

I completely resonate with your last sentence. I, too, love them and hate them at the same time. I do give Beachbody some props for their workouts, and I love Shaun T! But I can’t get myself to do the workouts when I think about how much Beachbody stole from me. I canceled my BOD membership and I haven’t looked back. There are also plenty of free workouts on RUclips… That are just as good😉 but I don’t judge anyone who stays on BOD.

Thank you for acknowledging SAHM's!!! I have been approached by "Huns" from all sorts of mlm's. Makeup, skincare, fitness, jewelry, etc. When they say "You're a stay at home Mom, you mean to tell me you don't have an hour a day to work your business?" I respond with a 🤣 and "Clearly you don't understand just how busy I am every day. Any free time I get goes to my kids. Whether it's reading a book to them, baking something with them, playing a game, coloring, taking a walk, etc, my free time is theirs. I have CHOSEN that for the time being. I don't want a job for even an hour a day.
