I love how devastating a Sorcerer Pawn can be! What is your favorite Pawn Vocation?
definitely sorcerer and specially when I have 2 other sorc pawns and I'm a sorc too, all casting bolide and each pawn setup with a diferent level of bolide so I can spam cast all 3 levels very quickly since there is always a pawn casting bolide at some level, add some stamina restore items and you can spam bolide so much you will lag your game x'D, nothing in the game can last long against that much bolide, because bolide does good physical and fire damage is very versatile and I use it against almost everything.
I think I would make a tanky pawn that absorbs more damage than it dishes out

@@dugarrYT I'm playing with world of difficulty mod so I need every advantage I can get, btw, your guide is really good, in normal situations I would 100% do what you suggest
Finally picked the game up yesterday after years of my friend raving about it since DD2 got announced and saw that pawns learn from you and was like “oh no this is going to be either reaaaaally complex and in depth or really bad” then I opened google and haven’t stopped googling info since, so a guide that gives straight to the point but still accurate info is MUCH appreciated, much love

My Pawn has about 3000 Magick Attack without Attunement so I replace Attunement with Stability instead to avoid interruption. You'll have to rank up their Ranger up to 8, but its extremely worth it.

If you need money we can strike a deal. I was mage and changed vocation to warrior. Got some equipment left that i sold for 300.000 gold for one single item to some nut in gran soren. I hope its not a quest item lol... 😄
Had 200 hours plus just got the game on PC. Again and I'm loving it. I wish other ppl build pawns like this so I can run sorc Pawns, every class is fun. Hope dd2 has more saved files available and more customization for pawns if they keep it
more save slots is a must, i hate that i have to copy files on my pc to use multiple saves and than running into risk that my pawn is getting banned because it changes to much :-/ great would be if you could create more than one arisen (save) but still use the pawn from you other save.
Good advice and just in time. I was going to make another account on my switch. I never get any rents so, ill just rent my own pawn.
Switch is a bit odd, i don't know why but sometimes i can't find any Pawns to rent except the offline Pawns. Maybe i create a new account too.
I play as 4 sorcerer team, and if you use such team, you can choose any the same magick for 6 slot. Because pawn always combine their magick with you.
I preffer six
- fulmination (to kill living armor, and many other enemies), X4 lighting burn everything, if one pawn or you use rusted staff, every enemies are slow
- bolide
- gicel
- holy bolt
- silence or blearing (against harpy type or goblin shamans)
- anti petrification (just in case) or ingle/levin for small enemies
And give them rings with high bolide/gicel and fulmination
So, pawns are use what they want, like blearing, and if you start casting, all team start cast x4 grand bolide, and it's pretty devastating.
To be honest, sorcerer band are pretty imbalanced, if compare with other classes. Like mages, or fighter.
But, use 4 warrior pawn is pretty funny too)
Also, give them mitigator/challenger inclination
sound cool! it's just a hassle to find good pawns for that team.
@@dugarrYT But in some way, its kinda what makes the game interesting. I replayed the game now coz got stuck on it on ps3. It was a harpies quest in the montain pass to gran soren. Anyone know if they solved the side quest issues on ps4 version?

thx for the sub. sadly no, once your pawn has learned something he can't unlearn it. but it's not a deal breaker. he will work fine as long as you can keep the aggro.

I used to have a spell called Gisel, but now only the advanced version, High Gicel, appears. Is there any way to decrease the level of spells again so that I can use just the basic version, Gicel, on my pawn? I'm looking for a solution or an explanation of how this might have happened.
You either upgraded the skill or have a ring on you that gives a 1up on it. Pawns will "decide on there own" which version they use if you equip the high version on them. There is no way of downgrading.
Very good video I can't tell you how many times I'm looking for sorcerer pawns and see lv 3 or lv 2 spells you can hardly find a pawn with basic lv spells even in the top pawns Iet as well make my own.
that's because most player think, higher equals better, what if we are honest is how it should be. higher spells should cast faster than lower spells, because you have more experience using them. ;-)
@@dugarrYT yeah I actually agree but dragon's dogma poop on casting time for lv2 and 3 spells lol.
i would love to see upgrade path in the sequel, choose between more dmg or shorter casttime.

It's kinda interesting that's better to NOT upgrade your spells on pawns because casting time is better than AoE and pawns will always use upgraded version. And you want upgraded spell it's better to give them ring certain skill. There are some exceptions like Miasma, Levin and Frigor
Comestion is also better if not upgraded on pawn
that's why i preferer to play on pc, so i can mod and downgrade skills if i need to. i probably will never play as sorcerer on my switch version.
How did you level your pawn mostly?
can't remember, my pawn switched a lot and ended somewhat balanced.

yes, but will take a break soon for Monster Hunter. For content creation i‘m on GOG.
Don't you think 5760 stamina is a little *too* excessive?
yes it is. ended up there by accident.
How did you get so much stamina with your pawn?
can’t say how exactly i leveld her (was years ago) most of the time Strider or Ranger. The rest comes from the gear and augments.
@@dugarrYT yeah this is the question i had. i guess i should switch her to ranger or strider then
@@videogames9972 strider is the more efficient, but ranger is the way to go if you want a big stamina pool ;-)
pioneer is not a good inclination for a sorcerer pawn as they tend to disappear/wander off such that they become difficult to find. The best inclination is challenger mitigator utilitarian. With higher bestiary knowledge, utilitarian becomes the primary inclination.
it depends on what your goal is. as i stated in the video, i want him to be in front of me so he starts to cast early.
@@dugarrYT I suppose it does depend on what you want. If you want a sorcerer pawn to get up in the face of a big enemy, scather would be the primary inclination. If you want them to stick by your side for the entirety of the battle and do nothing until you take damage, guardian would be the right vocation.
But pioneer just won’t do much to their casting time. They might wander several meters in front and engage in a fight, where they start to cast a spell and end up being interrupted when the enemy they’re right next to happens to attack them. There’s that which doesn’t seem particularly great or there’s the other option, which is them lingering behind the party for lengthy periods of time. Pioneer is actually known to cause pawns to linger.
If you want a pawn to be up front where they consistently get knocked out of their spells and become useless for the entirety of the fight, scather should be the inclination you pick. At least that’ll make it more consistent.
How about High Necromancy?
I love the spell if i use it, but not for a pawn. he either gets the timing wrong or attacks some rabbits with it xD

Even a useful sorcerer pawn is less useful than literally anything else lol. Maelstrom is their best damage but it comes at the cost of blinding you so it's not worth it. There is no reason to use sorcerer on pawn unless you're masochistically trying to min max magic.
maelstorm can be a bit iffy, but seism or commestion are really great
@Dugarr last I checked comestion isn't sorcerer exclusive tho
@@RaidenKaiser yeah but you never run a dps mage it's always to heal and provide buffs and you really underestimate how useful a sorc pawn is against most post-game enemies
As someone who ran a warrior more times than I'd like to admit: having a sorc pawn cast bolide or maelstrom usually ended the fight even against bbi bosses like priest and drake duo (at level 50)
@Keanan Knight that's assuming they can cast bolide. Often times they try casting high end spells it never goes through because they pick dumb spots to cast it. No tank it's gonna save a sorc who decides to literally stand in front of daimon and start casting.

Most of the time with a good set up they will usually get casts off with ease (especially if you have 2 of them)
And it really helps if you have good stagger or good distractions such as a strider (my usual set up is me [warrior], 2 sorc, 1 strider and its highly effective at keeping bosses stunlocked because the strider distracts them long enough for me or one of the sorcerers to stagger them which usually ends the fight)
If we were far enough in the game we'd know where to get these and your video is redundant. No info gave just loom for this and youll be good. Thumbs down hommie
