I had a good week. My phone was repaired last Sunday, and the hot water tank was replaced just before Thanksgiving. Nothing else broke this week. I love this block. However, I was singing "The Old Gray Mare" while watching you make this block. It kind of looks more like two seahorses kissing than a goose. It is a pretty block. Thank you.
Love that block. I love it when y’all don’t try to hide a mistake like some others do! 😊❤❤. I had a good week, and will try to have a good week too! 😊😊
Being as stingy as I am, wouldn’t it be more economical to just make a bunch of ½ square triangles and put them all together in a similar way ? I hate wasting all the fabric that gets cut off. I know it wouldn’t have smooth blocks as it would with the flying geese but it would save money and the problem of what to do with the scraps. I’m just cheap. Fabric is getting more and more expensive. Thanks for what you do. I love the block and am very tempted to make it with ½ square triangles. Happy New Year !
Yes, you could totally make it with half square triangles, you could also do a second seam before you cut and save all the corners as smaller HSTs to use for a matching project, or saved for something else. I have a whole bin full of colorful HSTs in various fabrics from doing this! Then I use them to make coasters, potholders, placemats, etc. They're also fun to use as a scrappy border!

@@TulipSquare Great ideas !
Can you just use HSQ instead of the geese
You certainly could!
