@@dimmacommunication Red was the official race car colour of Italian cars before and after the war. Each manufacturing nation had its own colour. Germany: White/silver; Britain: green; France: Light blue; Belgium: Yellow; Italy: Red; Japan: White (sometimes with a red sun on the bonnet). So because Alfa and Ferrari obviously took part in maaaany competitions they got quite popular in these colours. If I remember right the FIA changed the rules in the late 60s so that every team could have its own livery. But nontheless I like the dark blue colour on the Giulia. :)

Mohammed Ali shouldn't be a shock. DB11 is branded as a strict grand tourer. Suspension is sofffttt. Gears are long and smooth. It's not a track weapon. Sports sedans always have a whiff of track readiness to them.

Lilian 光 Rolls Royce Wraith costs $450,000 that doesn't mean it needs to be a track weapon. Cars are designed with purpose. The DB cars purpose has always been grand touring, if you wanted a quicker track focused Aston, you'd buy a Vantage.

That's no regular Pacifica. Its a mid engine V12 swap AWD conversion. Can go 280mph on the airstrip.

Hi Randy great video. Did you drive it in race mode, I guess so , I do too. However I saw a British racing car drivers test who
had it in dynamic mode and recorded faster lap times. I am gonna try on my next track day.

I'd give up a couple of tenths of a second for some decent folding rear seats with a centre arm rest like you get in lower models. Wrong place to cut down on weight IMO. Hot car nonetheless, and def. on my wish list.

Ahead of the ATS-V? Ahead of the manual, but you ALSO tested the auto and it was nearly an identical time to the Alfa..... 1:39.68 vs the V's 1:39.65......
Yeah and the ATS-V was $12,000 cheaper and ran the same 1/4 ET even though it had less power and weighed more.
You could get a CTS-V for the price of the ALFA and it would Crush it like an Italian GRAPE.
Or if you put 30+psi on the ATS-V like the ALFA has.....the ATS-V would rape a ferrari on the track.
In addition the Alpha is running R-compound tires, so if that plane was level I would love to see what time Randy could produce in the Ats-V

Don´t take it wrong. But I think, that you don´t understand the car. This car calibrated team who calibrated the Ferrari 458 Speciale. So it is quite strange to hear about great steering response and then about understeer. I think, that understeer or oversteer should be transparent. I mean, that car should tell you what is happening and you should listen and do what car tells you. From my experience italian cars belong to very best in this sense.
I dont know why to give this oportunity to americans to taste this beautiful car.
Let them enjoy their plastic cars bcs they dont know what does it mean class, spirit and passion for cars.

I am a car enthusiast and have bought and tested many cars over the past 15 years or so since my early 20s. I think Giulia QV is simply put the best sport saloon ever made and thats why I own one.

Quick clarification, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is faster than the manual ATS-V, and slightly slower than the auto ATS-V.... regardless, wicked laptime, and all around awesome car!

The ATS-V has a 1.03 g (avg) vs. only 0.98g (avg) for the Alfa., same with figure 8...ats-v: 23.7 sec @ 0.88 g (avg) vs. 24.2 sec @ 0.84 g (avg) for the Alfa Romeo

Wasn't it 1:39.68 seconds? Not 1:39.65 seconds which makes it .01 seconds faster than an M4.
And the Alfa has much more aggressive tires. Interesting that it takes 80hp and track tires to match M4 time
The car is not tuned for this type of track...it's about 20 seconds faster than an M3 on the Nurburgring though.
Similar lap times for the two seems to be the norm, with the Nurburgring the exception (and suspect as such). They're always close and take turns winning, with M3 winning some (Motor Magazine at Winton, Drivetribe at Anglesey, Sachsenring), and Giulia winning others (Motor Trend, Top Gear track)
My guess is that late in the game, they realized Giulia was slower than competition so had to put on R-compound tires. They're not appropriate for a DD and my guess is most owners will switch after wearing out the originals.
