Which N would you take? You can only have one!
1. i30 N
2. Kona N
3. i20 N
4. i30 Sedan N (aka Elantra N!)
i30 N for me. Prefer the looks and the analogue instruments. Good review though. Does this come with a manual? #Yes it does - same price as DCT
I30 N hatch any day. This is a boat.
That is the order I would list them, 😁 I'd have all four, you are too cruel just to allow us to have one 😛 Each are unique in their own way. Another top review Matt always subjective, honest and having tons of fun doing it. 👍🏽
@@CathodeRayNipplez just weld the back doors 😁
@@CathodeRayNipplez Tenpting 😁 might be an issue when we're old and not as flexible 😅😅.
Massively underrated channel bro. Keep it up 🙏🙏
my fave review of my fave car . cant] wait for more comparison reviews and proper launch... where are they???
Nice video. The Elantra N is awesome!!
definitely prefer the look of the hatch more.. just wish the latest i30n hatch came with the sedans updated interior
Got one in red this week, love it!
How's it going so far?
The best review every time
Your guys's version of this car is so much better equipped than ours. We in north america don't get full leather, power seats, rear vents and even seatback pockets.
I love that stock OEM exhaust sound
It’s insane!!
Nice video!
Great review as always! When do you think we'll get that interior in the hatch? Next year or 2+ years away?
Never
Isn't the I30 N hatch still built on the previous platform, as is the Kona N (the latter albeit on a shorter wheelbase), while the 130 N sedan rides on the newer chassis?
If it's between the two then the N hatchback for sure. If out of three then definitely the fastback, all day everyday 🔥🔥🔥
The sedan drives way better , nicer interior
Love the review Matt! I've been watching this every day waiting patiently for mine to arrive 😂 Could you tell me what the white circle to the right of the digital instrument cluster is please? I can't find the answer anywhere
Thank you! It’s actually purely aesthetic here. In the n line it’s the drive mode selector, but that is in the centre console for this car. Rumour has it that was going to be some sort of phone holder, but that clearly did not happen haha. So it’s purely there for looks!
@@CarSauce Ahh you legend, thank you so much for explaining! I guess I'll just have to make my own phone holder out of it now 😏
Omg u should buy one matt its really suits to you this car
Great review.. Just one question. Is this the most comfortable N car on Aussie roads? Thanks
No the n-line sedan is
Mate plz do a review for Camry Sport or any spec in camry range plz.
This car is sick!!! New dream car right there. Loved the review.
Thanks Dylan! A bit of a dream for me too I think 😅
Well a dream not too far away is always nice 😊
@@CarSauceUnlike a Porsche 911, this is an attainable dream in 1-2 years of saving!
I’ve the car and love your videos, the SAUCE and BANANASSSS lol
Too many angles for me. But great to see more performance oriented cars rolling out of Korea.
Definitely not everyone’s cuppa 😄
Performance blue for the win!
is there an ANCAP rating for this car or the N Line series
On your trip computer fuel usage was 9.9 which is excellent considering you been giving it the old source
Sauce....😆
Is the road noise more on the n-line sedan than the N sedan? I found it is.. must be tyres
Picking up my i20N tomorrow. Do you think I could swap it for this?
Between you and me, some Hyundai staffers have the i20 N as their favourite - it’s a ripper!
@@CarSauce Matt from carwow gave the i20n a race review.
The blacking out at front kind evokes the new gen RS3. Dare I say I like this better? I’m just not digging the “cat tail” on the sides of the headlights.
Very cheeky asking the same price for the manual ?
If the sedan got the N light seats from the hatch i would trade my hatch with 2500km right now.
In the USA they only come with the N light seats
:D
i d like to see this compared to the new ford focus st 2022 🤠
Hottest car reviewer in the hottest car 😍
I wouldn't mind knowing the official reason for the N Sedan having the PS4s tyres instead of the N Hatch & N Kona having the P-Zero's
because the hatch has forged rims
How would you compare this with the Skoda Octavia RS? The Skoda seems to be more premium on the inside and outside than this, but doesn't come across as sporty. For 90% of the time as a daily driver, the I'd imagine the Skoda is the nicer car to live with. The Hyundai's stock exhaust is really good though.
It's not even close. The n wipes the floor with it in performance. Inside I prefer this over the RS as well.
nice and all - but waht are the known faults ... does anyone know ? Transmission ?
One thing to know this car ( for a small sedan) has a massive 11.7 metre turning circle! How easy it is to park in tight shopping centre spaces?
I wonder if they have an all wheel drive version coming, something to compete with the Golf R.
No awd
@@i30n_fb Not currently but heres hoping they might in the future :-)
what for it does'nt need it
AWD? That would just add weight. Anyway, the Ioniq 3 N (probably released in 2024) will be AWD/dual motor, sized like a Golf/ID3, but of course much heavier than the i30 N...
Panoramic sunroof??
This is better value than the hatchback as its lighter and isn’t much more expensive considering it has better equipment.
The interior is definitely better than the others but I can't warm to the exterior design. I bough a hatch. I like the idea of the sedan but couldn't live with the looks for the next 4 or so years.
Weird. It looks awesome
If these cars look good on video in real world they look even better
4:14 damn that’s some good sauce 🤤
Hmmm, I would have previously had the i30N but this looks better. However Matt, I fear you are becoming the advertising arm for Hyundai recently?
I know it seems that way but I assure you it’s not the case! I have a bunch of reviews on backlog, but because Hyundai keep releasing new cars and it’s just me filming, editing, etc. I can only manage to film and edit the new car launches! Hyundai will be a lot more quiet for me next year 😊
@@CarSauce I am only poking fun at you Matt, I enjoy your reviews, they are so refreshing. All the best!
Weird noticing the difference between the markets. Over here in the states we get fancier? front cloth seats with a N logo that lights up, but we also lose the rear seat vents and seat cooling. Our one option also is $2k for the DCT+moonroof as a bundle, go figure.
u loose ten way electric adjustment and rear air too . u should see what the koreans get!
The leather seats are more comfortable
Why isn't anyone reviewing the manual?
I’ve been waiting for this car for 12 months to place an order but I’m so bummed that it doesn’t come with the same N Light seats available on other N Models and the Sedan N in other markets. The lack of N Light Seats with the alcantara is a deal breaker for me and I dare will be for other buys in the Aussie market. Fingers crossed Hyundai are planning on making it available for Sedan N soon!
But those seat doesn't look like old regular N seats. Also elantra sits lower then i30N to I would not put everything on the line for just N light seats.
Yeh this hit me hard too. The seats are very good though, i test drove a few days ago and placed my deposit. I wanted the light seats but i guess the heating and cooling makes up for it. I sat in the n light seats and i20n seats also. I20n seats felt the best
@@pazera66 exterior wise i30 hatch looks way better the analog gauges look more elegamt in a few years the digital dash will probably look gimmicky the n light seats and panoramic sunroof are big plus's on the i30 hatch.
i was also disappointed but still end up placing a deposit today for one.
@@kai-matthiasbast8612 I don’t agree. Digital dash in Hyundai N cars are great. They look like they should. They have higher then normal resolution and are very useful for displaying more info.
7:35 spare wheel?
Was the sound system better than the I30N. That’s was terrible
Love it love it love it 👍👍👍
I'm gonna get the cyber gray :)
u get it?
@@damienfrizzell9394 Nah not yet sometime this year hopefully
@@konut7607 yeh it's def a Skitz car I the dark grey but I would choose the cyber
How did you manage to do 7s 0-100? Other reviewers recorded 6.x, even high 5s...
The kia cerato gt does 6.6 with a 1.6 for 15 thousand less.
@@brendo69rock92 maybe Manual. Not dct
I’d Still buy a stinger over one of these. The exhaust does sound good
Curious have you driven this car to come to that conclusion?
@@exchangeyo no I haven’t. And I wouldn’t waste my time.
@@BJ-qj3bi that's probably why. The stinger is garbage compared to this.
I wish they made an awd version
Panoramic sunroof?
This in a wagon would be nice
How come Australia doesn't have grass?
It does you Muppet.
@@mharro88 Prove it.
Quote of the video
""You got whatever the F is going on here with the shapes and cuts whateva" hahaha
door bins, abismal
Finally an N with rear seat air vents 😎
we don't get those over here, and we don't get those seats, either =(
Not in the US...
too💥💥😋
What is the weight difference between this and fastback N?
61kg between this and the standard i30n if that helps any. Yes this is lighter..
@@davothegreat9990 that would make no difference in performance
@@mharro88 weight makes no difference to performance? That makes sense...🤣🤣🤣
@@davothegreat9990 of course it does but not 60kg it would hardly be noticeable. Hardly much more than a spare tyre. The better performance comes with the new platform
@@mharro88 60kg is almost a passenger! Go and pick up something that weighs 60kg.
but how does this compare to the new golf R
more than $20k cheaper...that's how it compares
@@drc133 so no comparison then
This is what the wife wants as she hates hatches… plus I’m a big fan of the sedan.. only downside you don’t get the forged wheels like the hatch. .. but I can buy forged wheels cheaper as aftermarket ones , than what Hyundai sells them for
Yea, they are crazy expensive. I thought about buying set of 2 for front semi click setup but the price is outrageous. I went with a good german cast wheels for 1/4 the price
This or the gr86
53.5K ? With sunroof?
more like 57 with sunrrof
It seems a bit odd (around 8:29) that driving on a race track causes the car to accelerate poorly!
They probably lowered the pressure as with lots of track work you will notice your pressure increase so they probably lowered the Pressures to compinsate
In South Korea "Avante N."
I’m getting mine in the grey I think it looks imamaculante
Did Hyundai pay you to keep mentioning how much better this is than the Hatch?
1:56 sedan comes with just normal sunroof :) not panoramic
The more I learn about the pure-N models, the better the Sonata N-Line looks.
More features and space for similar money.
get an suv
looks like zorro left his mark on the side of this car
He is always the 0-60 slowest tester...
Many other videos already shown the 0-60 result.
It was good.
I don't understand.
He just plants it. Doesnt modulate the throttle to negate the wheelspin at all.
That’s probably showing what youll be getting out there in the real world…aka, less than ideal roads, no use of a launch, maybe warmer weather… just, you know, flooring from idle..don’t expect 5 secs. Lol 😂
@@buckd1ch Is Matt a race car driver? No. Probably a good thing as it demonstrates real world figures that Joe Public (and you) will get.
@@shannonrussell7151 considering i own a hatch i think id know a little abit about what i said. Im not saying im a race driver. Simply stating the facts that if you modulate the throttle youll get better times.
@@buckd1ch I don't think a hatch is any different than any other car to be honest. It depends on FWD vs RWD vs AWD and the power versus weight ratio as well. So many factors. I know with my tuned FWD vehicle, if I just mash the accelerator, massive torque steer and it doesn't have a electronic LSD, so it is a factor. I have to increase gradually to get better results. As Matt doesn't own the vehicles, he wouldn't have time to adjust even if he wanted to. Just my opinion but nothing to get stuck into someone about.
I30n! And every color looks great but that red trim color has to go. I look at this and all I can think about is a GTI. I would change it to body color or black.
In other markets?! Excuse sir... you're the "other markets" humph
Sunroof is not panoramic as stated
I30n fastback
Nah too heavy doesn't drive as nice as the sedan . Old interior
Also doesn’t have the rattles or the weak suspension components. Also less common
@@i30n_fb what rattles? The suspension is better than the hatch. It's more compliant and still a beast on track. It's only issue is it's looks put people off.
Phathom black.
go back to launch school
You gotta lay off the SAUCE
Thirsty?
Good drivers don't need to be told acceleration times. They judge the car by driving it.
The front looks ugly
you don’t know how to launch a car!
don’t use n grin because you loose too much traction!
Just shut up and take my money, my house, my wife and my retirement funds please now!!!!!
so fugly, at least my first impressions
u still think so?
Hatch looks way better
The sedan N looks soooo tacky
You keep saying how insanely quick it is...but...it was in fact sloooow. 7.34 seconds? seriously? Nah...too slow.
He just botched the launch. Other YT vids have it clocked at 5.5s.
@@tim9241 Kona N seems to be the best off the line so far
7.34 is more than enough
7 sec to slow need 5.5 minimal
I already have 1 years fucking shut car.computer change 15 K First service . after that to many happen. 30 K engine light on company wants to change computer again.i bought.last year 6 November 2020. Don't buy not good electronic system.
Good review mate, would have rather you kept the swear words out of it. Not needed or fitting for a fine young man like you. Thanks.
Okey boomer
Absolute BS that Hyundai are allowed to make such ridiculous claims about the 0-100 time. They should be sued when in most real life driving conditions, a FWD car like that will do high 5s or close to 6 secs at best. Can't wait to be at lights next to this pretentious rubbish inside the Golf R MK8 stage 1 tune to embarrass the f* out of it because no doubt, some over confident knob head will be asking for it.
Not true, the guy couldn’t use launch control. Meanwhile other YT channels clocked it at 5.5s after 3 runs. Can easily do 5.3 in good conditions. And maybe don’t compare it with a tuned $70k 4wd hatch; you just completely miss the point…
wrong here in Canada where its a bit colder now..lol i have got 5..3 in the dct and once we hit summer i should be getting flat 5s no problem i expect
Very ironic use of “pretentious” and “over confident knob head” here
Ok, I will then pull up to you at the lights is my tuned RS3 and embarrass you...see how stupid this sounds. They are completely different cars!!
FWD... lame.
