Chinese cars are kinda like smartphones. Thanks to fierce market competition and complete industrial chain, new models are rolling out every month with super-fast iteration cycles. Wth the powerful voice assistant, you can get through about 90% of your car operations without touching the screen, Li Auto has three big selling points: a fridge, a TV, and a comfy sofa, they've combined all three in their cars, marketing them as 'your mobile home.' Sadly, you haven't experienced Huawei's autonomous driving yet; it works across China in any region and doesn’t even need high-precision maps.

I've got a relative who is skeptical about buying Chinese cars, although, I'm open to buying one or more. I reminded him that we've had two wars with Germany, his favourite country from which to source cars, and from which I bought my first car. I also indicated that we've also had one war with Japan which is a nation from which he has never purchased although I've had a number of Japanese cars. He won't but Korean or American cars although I've had numbers of both. He loves British brands, although I've had several including an EType Jaguar. I'm an Anglo Australian. Two years before the Beijing Olympics we toured comprehensively through China via Beijing and bullet train to The Terra Cotter Warriors. Flying a number of legs. Numbers of huge cities, and cruising down the Yangtze River and flew into Singapore. My uncle and aunt accompanied Australian PM Gough Whitlam and opened up China to the Western World. Also, a relative is an Anglo Aussie who was a captain on a Chinese international airline. My 18 year old nephew recently bought a new Testa. He does something in secret IT. As a result, we've sunk way too much money which we're at risk of not getting anything out of if we let in Chinese EVs and batteries. Low key hate EVs because of the weight.
When solid state batteries come online, the weight, range and recharge problems will be solved.
But I think these Chinese EVs are really going to win just based on the sheer economics; for the price, performance and inclusions, they’re going to be half the price of legacy ICE manufacturers.
Great review. I’d love to try a Zeekr 001 FR. it looks pretty lit.

The very first user of these technologys are the taxi, didi and uber drivers in China, gov encourage them to use local product, which means there are hundreds and thousands of them driving day and night in different area of China, with different weather condition, altitude, some city near the sea etc. easily reach 1 million Km, those company like byd, geely, chery get heaps of info from them and they actually have specific job that review those taxi driver to collect the weakness, the long term consumption, the flaws, the user friendly, the advice etc.

Dude is right. After a while, all these Chinese cars look alike. Squinty headlights and light bars. Tesla-copy centre tablet. Reminds me of the many noname phones and tablets sold in Aliexpress. Not sure what differentiates each other. Nonetheless, they looked like generations ahead of what current Western car brands are producing. The Tesla store seemed quaint. And against the eye-popping feature buffet of the Chinese brands, its simplicity is refreshing. Enjoyed seeing the cool cities. Looks high tech.
