There is no Hinduism, Hinduism is umbrella word of collective cultures. Fie example dvaitha, advaitha, visistadwaitha, lingayutha, charwaka, mimamsha so many... Comes under there just as same as Buddhism Jainism and Sikhism, either one is true sikkism is same as all other faiths mentioned if sikkism also comes under Hinduism.

Sikhism is one of the most logical religion. No muss, no fuss, just treat all humans as equals, with love and respect. The very concept of a Sikh and a Guru, as being a student in life and the teacher guiding one thru it, is beautiful. So is the concept of Ik Onkar, One Creator.

Something I'd like to correct is that the video said Sikhs don't have to eat vegetarian food. We definitely do have to eat a vegetarian diet, it's just something that some Sikhs these days don't do for their own convinience. Some people try to say that we are allowed to eat meat if the animal is killed in a certain way but that's just not true. Unless you're in an emergency situation and you will literally die if you don't eat meat, it is a sin because we believe all lives are equal and worthwhile, even the lives of animals. Again, though, it's not in our place to force others to follow our beliefs so we don't judge people that do eat meat.

Not every Punjabi but every Sikh. Punjabi and Sikh are not synonymous. You have Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Christian and Punjabis of all persuasions. Punjabi just says people from the province of Punjab. There are Punjabis in Pakistan too.

Discrimination of women on Menstrual cycle is associated with Hindus you should have said that clearly Rick. But one thing I would like to add. We as a society has grown out of it. We no longer do that.
Well I am curious to ask how hindu religion promoted discrimination on the basis of menstrual cycle??
@@dhillon3846 Well many hindu temples are in mountain tops surrounded with jungles. So in ancient menstruating women can attract unwanted attention of predatory animals so they were not allowed to go to such temples. Plus if the diety of a temple is considered to be strict celibate and priests of the temple also observe celibacy even then women who can reproduced were requested to stay out. And since sanitary pads were not there 2000 years ago and no one knew how to handle the problems created because of menturation some temples just did not allowed menstruating women inside temples. Unfortunately over 1000 years it did become an issue of discrimination but fortunately both law of land and hindu religious organisations have found a way in many cases to end this discrimination.
@@dhillon3846 yes if the diety is a celibate or the temple is strictly for men then women are not allowed inside. Which many feminists challenge but there are some hindu temples in India where men are not allowed.

Correction: anyone from State of Punjab is not Punjabi but anyone having Punjabi ethnicity is Punjabi and maybe from any religion

Singhs (Lions) and Kaurs ( Princesses) are part of an army -The Khalsa. We are armed 24x7..legally in the UK. Though we have a fear of death we know this to be illusion..we are already dead. Our goal in this existence to to realise that we do not exist, there is no I..there is only the Great Guru, the WaheGuru..The Totality..Existence. The purpose of The Khalsa is to serve and protect all of humanity regardless of caste, colour or creed.The Indian volunteer army was the largest this planet has ever seen and they fought for two primary reason..We are a warrior people and to leave these bodies on the battlefield is the greatest honour we can have and the pay in the army fed their families well. The Sikhi and other Indians thought that after saving Britain in WW1 they would get their independence..their reward was the Amritsar Massacre. Yet a few decades later when Britain was on it's knees in WW2 they came in their hundreds of thousands to save Britain again. Without the IVA the British would have lost both world wars, they outnumbered all the other commonwealth soldiers combined. BOLE SO NIHAL !! SAT SRI AKAL !!
Guru Gobind Singh then addressed the audience: -
From now on, you have become casteless.
No ritual, either Hindu or Muslim, will you perform nor will you believe in superstition of any kind, but only in one God who is the master and protector of all, the only creator and destroyer.
In your new order, the lowest will rank with the highest and each will be to the other a bhai (brother).
No pilgrimages for you any more, nor austerities but the pure life of the household, which you should be ready to sacrifice at the call of Dharma.
Women shall be equal of men in every way. No purdah (veil) for them anymore, nor the burning alive of a widow on the pyre of her spouse (sati). He who kills his daughter, the Khalsa shall not deal with him.
You will love the weapons of war, be excellent horsemen, marksmen and wielders of the sword, the discus and the spear. Physical prowess will be as sacred to you as spiritual sensitivity.
And, between the Hindus and Muslims, you will act as a bridge, and serve the poor without distinction of caste, colour, country or creed:
My Khalsa shall always defend the poor, and 'Deg' - or community kitchen - will be as much an essential part of your order as Teg -the sword. And, from now onwards Sikh males will call themselves 'Singh' and women 'Kaur' and greet each other with 'Waheguruji ka Khalsa, Waheguruji ki fateh'

Ik- There is ONE(Ik) reality, the origin and the source of everything. The creation did not come out of nothing. When there was nothing, there was ONE, Ik.
Onkaar- When Ik becomes the creative principal it becomes Onkaar. Onkaar manifests as visible and invisible phenomenon. The creative principle is not separated from the created, it is present throughout the creation in an unbroken form, 'kaar'.
Satnaam- The sustaining principle of Ik is Satnaam- It's name is EXISTENCE.
Kartaa Purakh- Ik Onkaar is Creator and Doer (Kartaa) of everything, all the seen and unseen phenomenon. It is not just a law or a system, it is a Purakh, a Person.
Nirbhau- That Ik Onkaar is devoid of any fear, because there is nothing but itself.
Nirvair- That Ik Onkaar is devoid of any enmity because there is nothing but itself.
Akaal Moorat- That Ik Onkaar is beyond Time (Akaal) and yet it is existing. Its a Form(Moorat) which does not exist in Time.
Ajooni- That Ik Onkaar does not condense and come into any birth. All the phenomenon of birth and death of forms are within it.
Saibhang- That Ik Onkaar exists on its own, by its own. It is not caused by anything before it or beyond it.
Gurprasaad- That Ik Onkaar is expresses itself through a channel known as Guru and it is only its own Grace and Mercy (Prasaad) that this happens

@@GurwinderSingh-ty7ny dude that one temple was specificilly built for men because that temple was dedicated to brahmachari god named Ayyappa who should not have any relation with ''kanya stree'' which means women aged between [20-30]. im from Kerala, my sister and my grandmom with my father and grandad went to shabarimala last year before corona. womens are allowed in that temple only womens between age of 20-30 are not allowed.
and one more thing just for general knoweldge there is another temple where no men aged between 21-40 are allowed. that emple is called PARA SHAKTI temple check it out

okay so a weird thing that i noticed is , my family is muslim , like my mother identifies as a muslim woman , me not so much , like i was not religious to begin with , and i dont have faith , but when i was like a wee little kid , i asked my father , "who exactly is Allah" and his response is exactly , word by word same as the video , and in islam , its a little different , my father is a man of research more than faith , he studies alot , politics , social politics , religious politics , and stuff , but his answer from i was small stuck with me , also , im a queer trans kid with heavy religious trauma bestowed upon me by my mother so , in a fucked up way i came to resent , god , but like thats the scared part of me , but the thing is , i dont have faith but every fucking day i have to pretend , and follow th ways of islam , even if i dont commit to it , and like that defeats the whole point of islam to be honest , im more like a wander to be honest , i like learning about different religions and mythologies , but thats it , cuz to me they are interesting , and i like watching from the sidelines and appreciating rather than be involved in it ,

for example Christianity is more of Bhakti Yoga(path of devotion.) and Karma Yoga(path of action and selfless service)
