the video did not cover indigo plantation. Because of the high demand for blue dye in Europe, they forced peasants to plant indigo instead of food crops on their own lands which led to food shortage. They provided loans, called dadon, at a very high interest. Once a farmer took such loans he remained in debt for his whole life before passing it to his successors

As an Irish from Mauritius and of Indian Origin, i can tell you that the Irish were probably the other target of the Brits that suffered the most and in England there would be signs banning "Dogs and Irish" from the pubs. HOWEVER the reason why the Irish and Indian forces couldn't unite as much in their defence was because a lot of Irish soldiers were sent to India to protect the Brits' interest. It was better pay and life than dying during the british induced famines here in Ireland too. Irish soldiers in India were very often the sole bread winner for a family of 10-15 so helping Indians could mean the end of them and their family. Mind you even Indians were put in the same dilemma, they were recruited as soldiers to torture their own in return for Life & Food for them and their family.

Since famines occurred in different regions over different times, the British silenced the news of people dying by restricting the flow of information to that particular region of India, hence rest of India thought everything was alright, when one region's famine ended, another regions started and people kept thinking it was their bad luck that they had to suffer!!!

I can totally feel Kristen's and Jaby emotions. Think now how do we still maintain a cordial relationship with these British people. Some might say they are not responsible for the horrors but the same gen is showing off and never apologized for the wrong doing and is still showing hate & disgust to our achievements. The only thing these people forget that this is New India. We will not be bullied and any foreign aggression will be dealt with the same way Taliban and others did when their homes were ransacked by the Americans. No one has the right to invade, dictate or preach their ideas on us. We will not entertain this idea of modern colonialization.
Another questions for the rest of the world specially Americans in general, have you raised your voice against this now or anytime . What did America do before or after world war 2. Did you help get the respect countries want? Did you atleast tried to do the right thing yourselves. Something to think about. What has been the role of US in all this crap? Did you ever felt regret of not doing anything when you could kick their butts easily but you formed alliances with the Brits.
These Brits have never accepted the wrong doings neither will they ever say a single Sorry to the Indians for all the murders and destructions they have caused. But remember one thing, Karma will never leave you. Whatever you do or your forefathers have done will come back one day.

There is a shortage of funds, corruption is there and the size of the country has definitely shrunk. So many countries have come out of India. I would like to also let you know that this is the oldest known civilization and we were constantly under attack by foreign invaders who looted and left and yet we kept growing. Colonization by Britain brought us down and they left in 1947, since then we have started growing again and have become 5th largest economy. In another 50 years you will see that India will be back in its rightful place as we are hard working people. Whereas people who looted from us only knew how to loot. Can you imagine their downfall, they looted 45 Trillion from India alone and we are not the only one. They have already spent the fortune and are facing economic hardship in less than 80 years. The Company was the biggest business firm in the world of its time, and therefore, made many Indians fabulously rich. Some of the most famous entrepreneurs and business families of nineteenth-century India made their money trading with the Company or with European merchants. Palatial homes in the north of Calcutta attest to that wealth. These profits were much larger in scale than the profits the Company sent back to England".

I especially appreciate the information about the railways that he gave. There is no scenario where we couldn’t have built it ourselves. There was so much trade and travel that happened then. The idea of a railway would definitely have been given and worked on by our people. But we had the might of a whole foreign empire bent on suppressing us. Those British spies, corrupt officials and traitors beat the Indian people down. We may have failed then but now we rise, and look at what’s happening in Britain. Its Karma. Empires rise and fall.

EVERY SINGLE INDIAN WOULD HAVE THEIR BLOOD BOILING WITH THESE STORIES. TO ME THIS BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF WATCHING AND LEARNING ABOUT ALL THESE IN MY 9TH STANDARD FOR THE FIRST TIME WHERE I CRIED WATCHING DOCUMENTARIES ANIMATED VIDEOS OF MAINLY "THE JALLIAN WALA BHAG MASSACRE" AND MANY MORE. WHEN I HEARD ALL THE STRUGGLES AND SACRIFICES THAT WERE MADE PURELY FOR EXPLOITATION AND ENTERTAINMENT OF THOSE WHO CLAIMED TO BE IN POWER. FEELS SO PROUD TO TITLE MYSELF WITH THE IDENTITY OF BEING INDIAN WHEN I REMEMBER THE SILENT REVENGE AND COMEBACK INDIA HAD AFTER INDEPENDENCE

I definitely like American accent wayyyy better than the British accents because it feels more fluid and natural, even though indian english does have a lot of elements and pronuciations common with British english. The Sepoys were originally Indian soldiers who were recruited by the British to fight for them, but there were Sepoys in all fields who blindly followed British orders and mostly posted against their own people. Unfortunately even now after India's Independence again the British, there are many Sepoys who are still living in the Indian elite society who silently work against our own nation.

As for the agriculture part, they actually provided money as loan to the farmers at extremely high interests for resources, making them fall in a dent trap. This usually happened as the lands with such high productivity were reduced to barren lands due to the Indigo production forcefully enforced by the British along with droughts.
A British announcer tried to raise questions by saying India should return their aid money when Chadrayaan III landed on the moon. The fact that India has not received any such aid since 2011. The economy of the country is literally based on Indian money extorted from the Indian people?! And let's just forget that the people responsible nev er even felt the need to apologise.

On the other hand, what I love about being Indian-origin, is that I have a deep family background, and I am seriously impressed with how much bs they put up with and still come out forever looking forward.
