I'm sorry for anything ignorant I said in this video. Just doing my best, like anyone else, to understand, acknowledge, discover what positives I can and move forward from there. I will always do my best to find the positive of right now because to do otherwise is despair and hopelessness and that's not an outlook I want to have. This is a discussion on a very heavy topic and I acknowledge the horrible atrocities, that is DEFINITELY not lost on me as we have spent a lot of time on this channel going over that. Still, I'm sure I spoke a few nonsensical things as evidenced by the comments. I'm not beyond unintentionally saying something stupid from time to time. As I said, just doing my best to understand, acknowledge and discover what positives I can because that's all we can build a future off of.

Even though India was invaded in the past, eg the Mughals, they came in, took over kingdoms, but they stayed here and also the wealth. They made India their home and named it Hindustan. The British is to be likely blamed because they constantly looted India for 200 years, shipping everything to Britain. Building their own cities and leaving the people and India dry. The fact is especially here in South Asia people are blinded by nationalism and think only their country is the victim and they are greatest and innocent. British didn't helped India grow in education sector but they destroyed the Gurukul system and had put their English education system. We were always self dependent and were actually masters of science and mathematics. ( Also, other subjects ).

"India was not united before the British" is a false notion. There are two aspects of this.
Culturally, India was united for at least 4000 years. Recent archeological excavations confirm that as a civilization India, or Bharata, was one.
If you take into account the modern definition of a country, with a unifying political entity, then-No it was not for a long time. However, There still were instances when one ruling kingdom reigned over most of present India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
But then that answer will be incorrect w.r.t Indian history.

when they talk about education, I would like it point out that Indian education and educational centres existed long before britshers came. Us Indians are stuck with a mediocre Educational syllabus because of the Britishers. We had educational centres to which travellers from all around the world, came, stayed, wrote about, learnt and left. We still cannot fathom how many Indian Temples could have been built using the Construction tools Indians were predicted to have back in the days. No way they did all that without understanding physics and Engineering. The Britishers came and destroyed our knowledge. India has Yoga, Indians have excelled at Ayurvedic medicine. There are Forest Tribes that can treat snake bites simply using Ecological resources. Im not saying our knowledge and way of life is superior. The problem arose when a group of people said that very thing. they called themselves superior. Im saying we had our own way of existence, education. The education system that we have today are all based on what the britishers thought were necessary. We still have so many traditional medicinal knowledge that is not learnt because it never sees the daylight. All we learn is what the britishers assumed were important thereby erasing our individuality from existence.

What govt. should do is make sure internet is available to as many people as possible. GOI should create education channels on youtube or create a website where such resources can b compiled for anyone to study. One thing, I would say is the moral responsibility that Govt. both center & state have, is to educate children clearly about what is right & what is wrong and educate children about rape because internet is wild wild west, it could lead to rise in crime against women too if schools & parents dont do their job right. Problem is that Brits needed clerks to manage their affairs for the Raj. Thus they systematically destroyed the Indigenous educational system & Introduced convent education & through that education, They created a systematic effort to turn Indians against their own culture as they saw Indians inferior their education did as well. So whoever ( Indians mostly) got that education, and turned against their own culture. & worked as sepoys for the British. Hatred against LGBTQ was actually spurred in Indian society when Abrahminic cultures started pouring in due to invasions. And then the Brits came along and criminalized being gay by law with the help of section 377,which was then very hard to revoke even after 70 years of Indian independence. But the SC and the "Modi government" did it anyways after so many protests by LGBTQ rights groups.

right? Things could be so different. I will still stick to my usual argument that we had to go through that pain only because we are capable or probably the only country capable of recovering from 200 years of colonization. and maybe we are all Indians today because of the colonization. But none of that would amount to anything if i can go back in time and lose all this to save those millions of lives. things happen for a reason, doesn't make it right. i can accept but cannot forgive or forget what's happened, especially when Britishers have still not officially apologized for what happened to us. Britishers stole everything from us right under our nose, called us uncivilized, made us slaves, used our own labour for manufacture and sold our things to us. When they were afraid of invasions from North East and North, they forced the hands of the Amirs of Sindh and took control of the land for themselves. Horrendous activities. they owe us an official apology. the only reason they haven't done it yet is to save face. So disrespectful.

Alright the thing is, Churchill might have done a lot for Britain and he was hailed as a hero there and while it is fair that an official of a country would always look after the interests of their own, the fact remains that before independence, India was a part of the British Empire and were "subjects" of Churchill's beloved Queen! To hate an entire country and it's population so deeply that you wouldn't give them the basic rights despite exploiting their resources mercilessly makes you inhumane and I refuse to acknowledge any 'buts' about it.

Alright , so I am gonna give answers to some of the questions / misconceptions / misunderstandings that were not addressed in this video :
    1. What would have happened to India if British never stepped in ?
Ans : India , in late medeival and early modern era , had in its presence, protuguese as well as french apart from Britishers. They were the ones who arrived before British and in several subsiquent wars of British against these foreign forces made sure that they don't have their presence in India. So it can never be the case of British not stepping into India because globalisation has been in India since ancient times. India was not created by british expats as in the case of America or Australia for that matter.
    2. The British has given india infra, education , railways and administration system !
To comment on this, i have a very simple argument. Think of all the middle eastern countries and the wealth they have now by selling a single resource, that is oil
Now think of india prior to colonization ! Now decline of Mughals were inevitable and so is the rise of provincial kingdoms in the undivided India, but each community before the British raj was secular, progressive and growth oriented. So there might not have been an India as a nation, but there could have been an India as a subcontinent but the term has been just reduced now to a geographical context. Think of UAE or EU as a political unit, now imagine India like that. With no Pakistan, there would have been no 9/11 or no terrorism. Because in the very inception of it, pakistan was present. Infact Pakistan gave birth to terrorism.
    3. As for justifying Churchill or taking the positive side of him , I would ask a simple question. Can you justify Osama bin Laden for doing what he did for his people by killing innocent lives? No right??? There is a not even a question of a fine line , it's either black or white and not grey at times. It's all about ethics, principles, values and humanity , concepts that India has upheld since centuries now and something that the western world has still never understood. No doubt about presence of Indians in Ancient Athens during the Socrates in discussions about polity and governance.
At last, i would like to say that the person you are talking about has been under secretary general of United Nations, the person who completed his PhD in his early 20s , the person who is one of the best diplomat and one of the most rational politician you will find in the entire world. Atleast read more about his works before commenting on him.
Anyway, we love what you do jaby. You give the best reaction in the whole world. I personally love the entire koay family and will expect more from you . You can turn to more serious and research related contents rather than just giving reactions to entertainment segment. Try to be more diverse in Indian content because there is a lot you are still missing.
