Something the Indian journalists and the interviewers can learn from this is, the quality of questions asked to get the best out of a person. Kabi is a genius for sure, but it take two to tango. Brilliant! ❤️

Since they themselves are trained theater actors and Rick being a teacher too, they are able to ask such intellectual questions which makes their conversations very interesting. They obviously articulate very well. They are also good listeners which is a very good trait for an interviewer.

@@swatisaini6447 There is tabloid or masala news in America & Britain too. Checkout People and Sun magazines and it sells big too. Credit to OSR that so far they are more interested to have conversations on the art form rather than masala.

I am writing this at 13:00 of the interview and do not know if it will come up later in the interview. The painting you see behind him is a Jamini Roy. He was a modern Indian master, whose art was influenced by Patchhitra, a form of folk painting on southern Bengal and parts of Odisha. It seems natural that Neeraj would be drawn to Jamini Roy, as his craft itself is so influenced by folk forms like Chhau, Kalarapayuttu, etc.

They only see cinematography, fights, dance, throwing colours like those stuff they remember a lot. Other stuff they don't remember. Even if they do they remember only characters like Nawaz or amithabh that's all. I mean they are OSR but they don't recognise anything about indian culture and all. Blown away.. Literally I'm blown away. There were the most amazing things I've ever heard from any actor or workshops till date
'doesn't imagine, react or improvise' 😱..
'Focusing on the energies residing in different chakras while performing a scene as per the emotion it demand
'Finding a physical aspect to the character first and not developing a backstory'
'The physical, mental and spiritual layer of the character'
    'The candle analogy ❤❤'
Thank you OSR.. ❤. This was an acting philosophy class 🥰

I live in the same society as Neeraj Sir, and he has been my teacher ever since I was 3 years old. Words truly are not enough to describe him. He had his own theatre group before he got really big in Bollywood and on the OTT platforms, and he truly deserves every minute of appreciation he gets. He is the nicest, most humble and most knowledgeable guy out there. I am soo happy to see him here, on an interview with OSR. He truly has so much more to give in terms of his work. Was delighted throughout this interview and had a big smile on my face.

@@samraj1000 Haha no I am not an actor, but I attended a lot of theatre and speech & voice modulation classes with Sir at his home, as well as at certain theatres in Bombay. The embodiment of martial arts and dance forms that Sir is talking about here, is 100% accurate. I clearly remember, he once told us to enact a scene from Othello, using a sword and dance movements from an art form in Kerala. I attended these workshops out of mere interest, but will forever be grateful to Sir for his invaluable teachings.

@@aashnabakshi1996 Still, this all shows that you have good tastes. It is lucky of you to live in Neeraj Kabi's society and to have seen him from close quarters as a student. I first saw him in Ship of Theseus and Sacred Games, and I knew that he was one the best Indian actors. I remember recommending Sacred Games to a friend in Panjab. He responded saying : yaar, ye aadmi (Kabi) toh kmaal hai, lagta hi nhi hai ki ye police wala nhi hai.

As an aside you would be interested to know that Mr. Amitabh Bachchan never trained in any acting school. He jumped straight in and became a school of acting in himself. The legend. I am mentioning this because I know you both have huge respect for him and have heard Rick mention that Big B would have gone to acting school often.
Keep up the incredible work you both are doing.❤️

Goddamn! This is perhaps one of the most intelligent and interesting conversation on RUclips. Neeraj Kabi's approach to acting and l would say his life, is something that even a lot of most educated people don't have. You have to have a philosophical conversation within yourself from time to time to refine or redefine your own character.
