Quick question I recently painted my car peach in rustoleum I did use a hvlp spray gun however I was watching a video of yours and I recall you mentioning that you can spray clear coat over the rustoleum paint job without sanding? Or did you recommend scuffing and sanding it prior to laying down the clear? Thanks love all the videos.
If its tacky you could but i recommend waiting till cured then wet sanding and then adding clear. Its alot more work but comes out way nicer in the end.
As someone who was a graffiti writer, go grab a nozzle off an easy off oven cleaner can and throw it on the rusto. It produces a larger pattern and sprays faster
Your videos make me wanna look for a C4 vette that needs paint and do rattle cans to it. I did my 96 Camaro with foam rollers and had so much fun but its been so long since I did one. Thank you for the videos and your messages about the good news man! I love your passion.
Looking sweet brother. Helpful tip, let your sand paper soak for about 5 to 10 minutes in the bucket before you start wet sanding, and let your tack rag sit out of the package for a few minutes before using. Getting close to doing my Bugeye, so excited. Thanks for all you do for us. Many blessings to you and your family. Blessings from Colorado 🤙
Thank you and on average they naturally do this! I usually get the stuff ready so its usually soaking prior and out of the package prior. In this particular case it wasn't but thanks for the tips! God bless!

Looking good, Brother! Question for you; I just picked up a car that has a peeling clear coat on the roof. What grits do you recommend to get it prepped for a respray with spray cans?
I recommend getting that clear sanded smooth with 800-1000 and make it as nice and smooth without going past the color coat. Then when it’s all smooth hit it with clear again.
Hi...I want to know if you sanded your base coat just for a better grip or it is because spraymax (urethane) are not compatible with enamel color...tanks a lot
Hey I’m looking to paint my 02 mustang either Ink(sonic) blue or black. How many can do you think I’ll need? You really inspired me to try this and so far my results with other projects have gone well. Then you’re always spreading the word of God which is the Biggest reason why I follow you too.
I have a question, if you are redoing your fender in the same color, but a different shade kind of situation, do you wet sand the panel or dry sand it? My fender's clear coat is fading away and I would like to paint them over
I do have a question for you. I want to duplicate your Berry Pink CRV, but on my Nissan Leaf EV. After the color painting, I want to add 2 coats of holographic flake. My idea was to add the flake to a quart of Rustoleum Clear Auto paint and roll that on with a foam roller. Sanding between the two clear holo coats, the finishing with 2K clear. When the whole job is dry and hard, then a resand and buff, same as the CRV. What tips, tricks, concerns, advice could you give me for this job? This isn't my first rattle can paint job, but my first time using flake in my top coats. Thanks, Ginny in Denver
well as for roller idk about that stuff but in theory it should work with alot of wet sand, clear, dry repeat until nice and smooth. As for the tips and tricks everything i have to offer is in my videos honestly lol.
Your idea screams out "test panel". As in: something smaller, not on the car. That way, you can test paint the pink base, and experiment to see if the clear+flake idea works with a roller, or not. Edit: there are also "refillable aerosol cans" that can be had. You'll need a compressor, or a bike pump, and cleaning solvents, but you could see if you could spray the clear + flake layer that way.
@@ginnynewman317 the one I see most is the YouCan by Jacquard Products. I used a wee glass vial contraption at a friend's decades ago to spray small touch ups. Awesome videos, I’ve been trying to get around watching all your content. What’s the sanding process if my vehicles clear coat is peeling off. I really want to try putting a new coat on it. Thanks.
Lots and lots of sanding and cleaning, I recommend getting one of those electric hand sanders it'll make your life so much easier. unfortunately the clear coat layer no matter what has to be removed, otherwise the paint will never level out.

It would more likely lose its high gloss. I have painted many small engine parts and things, and after some years, the gloss is gone. The paint surface is not hard enough, doing a 2k clear give you a hard gloss surface.
