6. Gonna Get Close to You [Queensrÿche - Live in Montreal 1986/09/24]

This show sees Queensrÿche opening for Ozzy Osbourne. Fortunately for us, it was caught on video in its entirety, and the quality is pretty good considering the age. The audio however had a lot of noise, and is somewhat distant, as the camera was filming from the balcony.
The show itself is great. The band's performance is strong and tight, and Geoff's voice is still in great shape, although he does sound a little tired in a few minor spots. The audience seems to be into Queensrÿche's set as well, which always adds to the atmosphere of the show.
Overall it's a great show that every fan should give a spin. Enjoy!

I remember this tour, this is the tour when they opened for Ozzy... and blew him off the stage every night.
Don’t care what anyone thinks, Geoff is hands down the best metal/rock singer ever, no one has his range.

I remember seeing this concert back in the ‘80s. Geoff Tate wore a long black trench coat, the background was dark with only a green spotlight on Geoff as he sang this song without any background music. It was beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing this video!!!

From the time they blew off the main act's. I have seen them this tour opening for Bon jovi.. They did not stand a change against Queensryche.. fans walked out or went to the bar after QR playing to make room for teenage girls..ha ha. Great, great times those..
