Such an unbelievably underrated song it’s criminal. I saw this video one drunken night my senior year of HS, and I was amazed. Then I bought the record…yeah, record (I always bought tapes for my car) and that’s when I heard Walk in the Shadows.
This was head and shoulders above what every other Metal act was doing at the time. It had an air of sophistication and was the thinking person's metal band. And to think Mindrime was just around the corner.....You would think how could it get better? and it did.
Unfortunately, Rage For Order was about a decade ahead of its time. The cold, almost digital, mix (though digital recording was only in its infancy) and bombastic mastering were definitely not of the time. The electronic/industrial elements that augmented the arrangements and the sampled sound collages (courtesy of Skinny Puppy 's Dave "Rave" Ogilve) were unheard of in metal at the time. Loops and sequences, embryonic digital effects, backwards reverb, mobile recording, the cyberpunk/gothic aesthetic... I do believe Rage For Order paved the way for industrial- and gothic- metal acts of the mid 90s like Rammmstein, Fear Factory and Orgy. It blew my 12 year old mind and I STILL hear nuances that I hadn't caught in the previous 36 years. Amazing record!
…….There’d be no reason to be so alarmed. Yes, great narcissistic, creepy stalking lyrics! Great line, I agree. Lisa Dalbello 1984 possibly the first GREAT stalking songs.
Great album (not my favorite), but this tour was my first chance to see them. The best, for me, was Mindcrime, and that tour is still my favorite. They opened for Metallica on the Justice tour, and played the entire album start to finish. Great stuff.
This the exception in which the cover is better than the original. Best QR album ever. Almost 40 years old, and this is the album I listen to the most. If they ever make a bid screen movie of Jack the Ripper, this would be the perfect song for the movie soundtrack.
Adore this frikken cover. The Lisa Dalbello original is completely, magnificently unhinged tho. So much better.Geoff pretty much follows her vocal lines just more metallic. Magic
Rage for Order. What a time that was to be alive. Miss those days, man
So do I.
Awesome concert I got the t shirt from the concert in 86 and 87
Me too!! Kinda made me sad watching the video. Never thought the 80's would be the best years of my life.
Summer of 86 i was 19 years old and i saw this tour god they were beyond awesome 💯💯💯💯💯 rage for order baby 🎸🤘🤘🤘 86-87🎸🤘🤘 cheers from Pasadena CA

Cool, thanks for sharing. U seen'em Live before?
Rage for Order is still my favorite 'Ryche album!
@@leeisenberg I have!
I love this version of the song. I know its a Dalbello song but Queensryche did it right. Awesome 👌
Exactly!
I think you mean knocked it out the park.
@@buckster2575 Absolutely sir 💯 👍
Never knew it was a cover. Both are amazing!!!
What a voice

I couldn’t have said it better myself
This video is fire, thanks for posting it, I've been looking for this original for years!!!
It keeps getting taken down.
Never knew there was a video. Until today.
A beautiful and frightening song.
One of the bands BEST.
It doesn't show the end
Absolutely my favorite Queensryche album......
Me too .. amazing
Loved Head bangers ball
The greatest feeling on earth is romance, with an element of darkness and risk
Still a kick ass tune and surprised no one ever put this in a horror movie.
It reminds me of Fright Night.
The 1st stalker song 🤣
Loved Headbangers ball miss MTV!
Thank God after all these years here it is!!!!!! Idk why it was never on RUclips or taken off years ago.
Its been two years since it was on here I posted it two years ago for Halloween .
Their lawsuits
I wondered why it wasn't.
I'm officially old. Just seen Geoff last night. AMAZING!
❤ Geoff Tate está incrível neste vídeo clip!!! E os demais integrantes do Queensryche também!!! ❤ Saudades do Queensryche original...😢
This may be the best short guitar solo ever. Very well done
Pretty close to Mick Ronson's solo on the original.
I love it also!
RYCHE-N-ROLL!!! 💯❣️🤘🤘
If you knew my infinite charm, there would be no reason to reach for the alarm! I love that line.

Lisa Dalbello 1984 possibly the first GREAT stalking songs.
This is still one of my favorite songs 🎵 ❤ 💕 ♥
Me too. Never got tired of listening to it.
Mine too. Have all their CDs before Tribe and MindCrime 2...listened to them today at work and still know all the words!!
God this album Rage for order is GREAT!!! So is this video! Thank God I saw this tour when they played Lamour's in Queens NYC. TY for posting.
Geoff and Chris were really the best duo for writing. When Chris left it’s like the glue that held the band together was gone.
Chris was definitely the driving force of Queensryche. The heart and soul.
It wasn't often that metal bands covered new wave songs...Queensryche, Geoff Tate's bouffant mullet, a hot vampire chick...what more do you need?
Yes she is the vampire…wow you’re right😜
Rage For Order is my fave Ryche album

@@jcass1970 they came to Roanoke VA on that tour with metallica.august of 89.
AWESOME BAND AWESOME SONG😎😎😎😎❣❣❣❣
He’s still so hot!
On my 21st birthday during the rage for order tour with Ozzy Osbourne I stand at the bar with Geoff Tate Scott rockenfield and Eddie Jackson
❤
I love this song. I remember when this video came out and got some serious airplay! I've been looking for it. Please don't take it back down! Later!
i had no idea they made a video 4 this
Awesome video!!!!
I think I was in 11th grade LOL, I got laid sooo damn much with this song!
I first saw this video on the Building Empires compilation of videos on VHS. Super creepy but very good.
God help me I love Geoff Tate!!!
Finally, been looking for a long time!!!!
Bout time, was looking for this in March 2020 right before the Geoff Tate show in Nastyville Tn. Thanks for sharing. - take care
All these years and I just learned this is a cover!
They put the E in RAP in this video for sure.

This whole album is A1 the prequel to Operation MindCrime.
Just saw geoff tate
Me too! On 12/15/22
Last night 🤘 in Nashville
@@wildisthewind107 Oh dang I missed it. Saw him in 2020 right before the panDANGit hit.

Well maybe he was more of a Louie than a Lestat❤
This song too is creepy.
And You love it.
Awesome song for a bad ass vampire movie…He should have bitten her neck at 4:00🫦🧛🏼♀️
Is this the original
Damn. Operation Mindcrime. I saw them with Metallica.
