Like all of us, Geoff has lived through good and bad times. He's come through with a good attitude. His music/ lyrics, voice, and overall comportment have always impressed me very much. I was fortunate to meet Geoff, and All the fantastic guys in the band many times in the 90's. They always struck me as serious musicians and very nice, down-to-eath guys. Original QR and Geoff mean a lot to me, and I don't believe there's another singer who can touch Geoff. No one ever has, and no one ever will.
@@AleYanok I know there are a lot of other great singers out there. There's something in his tone, expression, intensity, power, etc that just hits the mark for me!
@@Westminsterfan1981 Don't really like Bruce too much... He sounds a bit strained to me and don't like his colour. But ok, I'll admit he's still one of the best.
Geoff Tate was and still is one of rocks best vocalist. He can STILL hit those E5 notes live to an extent. Back then in his heyday geoff was 25 and now he's 63
I have often discussed the best metal and hard rock singers and tried to create a list of the best. Geoff has always been in the top 20. I would spontaneously start the list like this: Geoff Tate, Michael Kiske, King Diamond, Eric Adams, Jon Oliva, Rob Halford, Ralf Scheepers, Hansi Kürsch, David Wayne, Ronnie James Dio, Midnight aka John Patrick Jr. McDonald, Matt Barlow.
THANK YOU for putting together this evolution! Really great to see the passage of time like this. Also, I've never seen a man go through SO MANY hairstyles in my life. He's had more than just the few shown here. And looked good with all of them!
I saw Geoff last year in Austin and I going to see him again this Sunday in Austin as well. Last year he played all of Empire and Rage of Order. This time around its a different mix of songs all together. Set list is really good and Geoff still brings it.
I loved everything the band did from '82 until '90 and even after all these years it's my "go to" band. After that the music and the members got more and more weird. Once Tate and DeGarmo left - I knew it was over. In their day they were awesome!
Geoff was simply the best or one of the best of the 80s and 90s... just a wonderful voice and still doing well these days compared to many others whose voices are shot... not mentioning any names like vince... lol
If you listen to heart and Boston and Geoff their vocals are very similar in their ways of holding high vocal notes. I've seen queenshryche 3 or 4 times and to say they do not disappoint you. The way they play and Geoff vocals were on queue every time and actually liked hearing them in person more than CD or cassette lol yeah I am old too. For Geoff and Ann and Bruce Dickinson to be able to sing like this at their age is very impressive to me. Yeah they can't hit them all but still sounds good to me.
Geniální balada, arange dovedená k dokonalosti, tato hudba dokáže člověka odnést přesně tam kde je mu nejlépe.... dokonale odvedená práce... děkuji navždy 👏👏👏👏👏
I can sum it up quickly. As he aged, he got fat and bald, and for awhile lost much of his vocal range too. He's still fat and bald, but he's worked to regain his range, and although it's not as good as it used to be, it's not bad nowadays
Cuando se fue bruce dickinson de iron maiden lo hubieran llamado, iba ser otra la historia capaz, tiene un rango vocal igual que bruce o un poco mas mejor.
For as he always knew, there will never be a true Queensryche without Geoff, as there shall always be the true Queensryche wherever Geoff might be. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
I think Rage for Order is Prog. Lots of time changes on that albums, and big time experimentation...........I consider QR a hybrid between power metal and prog metal...
@@gibsonlespaul796 How's that power metal for god sake. Kamelot, Powerwolf, Manowar, Avantasia...That's power metal. Which song is "powermetal" on Mindcrime? Absurd. Plus Operation: "Overrated"??? Axl Rose himself introduced Queensryche when they were touring in 1989 for Mindcrime tour as "the best album of the last 10 years".
Super creepy that in his later years he's starting to look like a cross between my uncle and brother. And I find him attractive. I'm a sick individual.
Creepy animation. On another note, I watched some of Tate's newer stuff and it didn't come off well either. The mix was pretty awful, with Tate's voice not coming through at all in some parts. His voice also was way off, but I'm hoping he was getting over a cold or something like that. He sounded "gravelly", and not in a good way, and even off key sometimes. I'm not trying to be an idiot throwing stones from the sidelines here. I really like what he's done in the past. Queensryche was great. I hope what I've been hearing isn't an accurate representation of his current stuff.
What a disappointing video. Nothing about the changing of his voice over the years. Instead, his face morphs and boils like the T-1000 in the vat of molten steel.
In his prime, there was nobody better. Rage was an absolute masterpiece.
Rage of Order to Empire. Those are masterpieces.
And Take hold of the flame..my favourite ❤
@@warnnie Rage FOR Order!
yes ,but it was in his prime as you said
not even close now

Best metal singer of the 80's (Dio is an exception)
exactly
you absolutely right
Ótimo trabalho! Geoff Tate tem algo que realmente não dá para explicar, pois ele se destaca dos outros vocalistas de uma maneira incrível

I agree!

His work with Tobias Sammet has really reinvigorated him imo. It's great to hear him sound like he's having fun again.
Love.. Thank you for being a wonderful inspiration. I should have done more with what I learned from watching you .. next time.
Still looks like he's in pretty good shape and he can rock a bald head.
The best voice in heavy metal music

I would say the voice all singers wish they had

I miss his hair but luckily also looks good bald. No Geoff no QR I don’t care what they say. It’s like Maiden without Dickinson.
He had some great looking hair I must say
This was AWESOME!!!!!!!😃A "BIG"👍🏻ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻

4:35 And Paul Di'Anno

RIP to Geoff's hair 1959-2010, i know he had a worse balding now, but i wish he wasn't bald, he looks beautiful with hair...
His hair makes him look kinda young in 2001
In 2001 he was 22 years younger, he was 41 and now he's 62.
I don’t like this thumbnail. At first glance it looks too much like it would be an RIP picture, like with the name and the year born-year died thing 😅
Está proximo de vir. Next tô.....
Masterful career
TBH, Hear In the Now Frontier was the end of QR for me. There were a handful of good songs after that, but not much.
I guess Queensryche is next
Wow, Geoff morphed into Rob Halford.
If Ming the Merciless and Angelina Jolie had a child . . . .

GOAT in my book
Keep drinking wine Geoff its good for you. Just ask Neil Peart

Prolific did somebody say prolific??…

I will listen to the old stuff. I have no respect for the freak he became
As someone who didn't grow up in the 80's (more like the 90's) I've tried to listen to Operation Mindcrime more than a few times. It's garbage, sorry.
Cool story bro.
Geoff still kicks that other guys ass
Who has offered him obscene amounts of money to rejoin Queensryche?
Nobody. Geoff's ability to mentally airbrush reality and history is second to none.
