I even looked up the character a week ago when this blew up; Iana is a character cosplaying as 2B. I think her original model looks appropriately feminine built compared to the 2B model which looks wrong when you view it from various angles.
I find that comparison hilarious considering all the controversy with lolcowlizers in anime and Japanese games. It's even sadder when you see the very same people who made their careers mocking 4Kids now defending stuff much worse.
Well, what 4Kids usually did was create what is known as the monoboob where it looks like female characters have a singular boob fused together from two regular sized boobs because they remove the cleavage. It's quite disturbing to look at when you actually see it. De-feminization of female characters in the current era is a different kind of bad, but the common denominator between the two is that Western media hates sexy females.
Doesn’t matter. It’s one sign of a very present and ongoing process where they are deleting the actual female form and replacing it with “trans woman” in video games.
You want to know the worst part about the design? The skin is supposed to be for Iana Meijer, a female "operator" a.k.a soldier character that you can play as in Rainbow Six Seige. Search up her character bio, scroll down, and you'll see what this skin was supposed to look like. This skin has wider shoulders while wearing a form-fitting dress than a woman in full tactical gear, so whoever the designer altered the model proportions.
Thank goodness I’m playing Stellar Blade. That Nier Automata collab has to be the best thing ever. It’s not just the outfits but also the small Easter Eggs from the Nier Automata. Once you put 2B’s outfit on Eve it’s like you never left Automata. It’s that accurate
@@cleverman383right behind you. I hear it’s coming to PC so I’ll be sure to pick up my copy when it comes out. Did the same for Automata too. I don’t mind having multiple copies of a game I truly enjoy
But there's a huge difference, whereas Eve and 2B both already are female characters with similar body designs, Rainbow 6 is a game where all characters I've seen seem to be burly men in SWAT gear, It's obvious they simply didn't give the devs enough time to change the rigging and animations, so they had to change the character model instead.
@@blondbraid7986 There are also burly women in swat gear. It is more like they have standart (for balance reasons) hitbox model for female character that includes model of a gear. But instead of dressing 2B in SWAT vest they just inflated model to fit the hitbox.

I saw some people trying to defend this by saying that, since its just a skin for a pre-existing character, they had to change 2B's design to fit the hitbox of that character for gameplay reasons. But that doesn't actually excuse anything. Its just shifts the problem one step back. Because now you have to ask: Why does that original character look like this? If they had to make 2B look so masculine to fit her model, then clearly the original character was also a super manly woman. Which is still the exact same problem.
My favorite part is that Adam and Eve exist in the same game that 2b does, They could have side stuff the entire issue and just use the main antagonist of the damn game
Then you clearly dont know what you're talking about.it would affect the hit box and it would excuse it because the skin would be pay to win if they had changed the model. The way skins work in siege is they cosplay the characters they dont actually put the characters in the game. Ianas model is also not masculine if you actually look it up before you comment. In a competitive game like siege it actually matters, and as someone who ACTUALLY plays the game. Wish people wouldn't just jump on bandwagons and actually do their own research and not be a bunch of parrots, plus the skin is old asf by this point. The fact its even a topic now is beyond me
Hell MARIO PARTY has created the same hitbox for varying looking characters from Mario, to Peach, to Waluigi successfully and that's not even a serious game lol
So true. It doesn't even need to be said, any normal informed person knows exactly what is being done here. Whoever designed this knows what they did, and they don't care that it may cost ppl their jobs
They disrespected japan idk how many times now for the third time maybe first with how bad the new assassins creed is and and the broken tori gate figure and now butchering the 2B design what did japan do to deserve that haha
you're obviously not one of the well informed then. They didnt do that on purpose to butcher it, it goes on a female model, they couldn't litarly put 2B in the game without changing hit boxes, the characters cosplay the characters from other games, not the actual characters. Its a competitive online shooter that can't change to much on the skins without them becoming pay to win. Litarly no body is losing their jobs over this, its a 2+ year old skin thats old news, it made quite a bit of revenue when it got put into the game. I actually play the game and it actually looks fine in game, and as someone thats a huge Neir fan, its fine lol and they had to get Neirs creator permission to put it into the game so obviously he didnt have a problem with it. IF anyone, and thats a huge IF, loses their job over this, its because of people like you who dont know what they are talking about and jump on every bandwagon like a parrot, and people who dont play siege, only we understand why the model is bulkier. Its to fit the hit box of the original character to keep it from being pay to win.
And a manly man at that. Got like some 5 o'clock shadow, square jaw, thick shoulders, muscular arms, broad stance and adams apple. If I was half the man of Ubisofts 2b i would be bangin up the ladies all night long but alias, I am not.

I find it hilarious, some 3d modeling artist is bringing down Ubisoft almost by themselves. Look what they did with Starwars outlaws, shes hideous in other ways but instantly bring the word ugly to mind the second you see them.
As someone that plays R6 Siege I'm not even mad that it's not a faithful representation of 2B. What pisses me off is that this "2B" set is one of only 2 cosmetic sets for this character where it isn't just a lazy recolor of her default outfit. She's been in the game for 5 years ffs.
A "Cosplayer" skin for Iana, dropped a few years ago, for a game that released in Like 2016, the design is pretty accurate to the og, fitting Iana's waist. Compare 2b and Iana/Eve. not new news in the slightest. Just Steller Blade dropped a sexy one and someone made a mid comparison. (r6s character modeling has been mid for ages. Especially after the hit box balancing that really blockified female ops)
Ubisoft: "We did it, now there will be no more male gaze on our characters" Oh don't worry Ubisoft, no one will be gazing at anything in any of your games soon because you will be out of business
Here is the thing: that skin is better described as a cosplay for the underlying character Iana. This character was created to be unappealing to men and sexually ambiguous, quite the opposite of 2B. If they were to modify Iana to fit 2B's proportions, it would be admitting to the flaws of their character. On the other hand, not doing so also highlights the ugly proportions of their original character. They really shouldn't have done this collaboration. This also happened to Apex with their Aerith Horizon cosplay.
The thing is, they could cover for this by putting tactical gear (in the right colors) over the original outfit. Yeah, it'd still be annoying, but it'd cover up the proportional problems. (at least in part.)
In PUBG there's a collab with nier too (clothes and hairstyles) the Ubisoft 2B reminds me of how it looks in PUBG if you equip the set on a male character XD Edit: Also, I don't know if it's only in the image, but if the clothes' textures are those it's quite bad too (I mean that the dress has somehow of a velvet texture in the original game) in the collab they did with fall guys the dress had simpler textures but has sense since is a simpler looking game, but in R6 has no sense. Also quite funny the amount of collabs Nier has done, if I'm not mistaken they did it with: PUBG, Fall Guys, Naraka Blade Point, Final Fantasy, Nikke, Stellar Blade, and R6 (maybe I'm missing some).
My boy unbuttoned the jacket and removed the tie like a disappointed father. That's how I know this is serious. Hell, I thought he was about to give me a whooping great video as always.
There are few technical explanations for this: 1. This is a skin, and they don't have a character that's anywhere near 2B's actual body shape. If they were to make it closer to actual 2B, they would have to extremely reduce collision box on just that skin, which would be unfair, or not touch collision boxes which would cause big difference between the actual model and hitboxes when shot at, and that is important in highly competitive game. Another issue is that the rig would probably have to be significantly altered, which not only might be technically impossible for a skin to alter rig in R6 (I know other games can do it but i know Ubi games are held together by ducttape and prayers), it could cause clipping in animations, which would require new unique set of animations. Finally, Ubisoft probably doesn't have any template for a female body anywhere near 2B. However, while all those concerns are explanations they are not justifications. It's still on Ubisoft for turning 2B into this, they have no representation of smaller and feminine body shapes in what's pretty much a hero shooter, and they decided to do this collab fully aware of technical concerns. If I could figure this out, they most likely did too. No matter technical limitations, they still made a very off-putting version of 2B...
honestly yeah, no offense but this whole thing reminds me of people in twitter seething because a character was drawn with slightly lighter skin. wokes and antiwokes are two sides of the same coin
@@aaz.2007 Well, it still doesn't change the fact that this is a horrible depiction of 2B. Again - explanation, not justification. Considering technical problems, they just shouldn't take this collab, 2B doesn't even really fit much into a grounded tactical shooter that R6 is supposed to be (altho it changed into basically fortnite long time ago...), or make at least one character that fits 2Bs body type.
Not saying your explanation was bad (i actually completely agree with it), but this reminds me of when people were justifying Dragon Age Veilguard for having extremely flat chests and butt sliders in the character customization menu because of "possible clipping issues". But to be completely honest, if Ubisoft actually did care anything about retaining character properties, and had even a cent of respect for the original design, they wouldn't have done this. I understand the need for an equal hitbox, but at the same time I can't not believe Ubisoft had ulterior motives putting 2B into the game like this.
@@ctrl_x1770 As I said, it's explanation not justification. They still made a horrible depiction of 2B and that's still on Ubisoft. 2B doesn't fit a grounded tactical shooter like R6 anyways, so I have no clue how did that collab even happen.

De-feminization of female characters in the current era is a different kind of bad, but the common denominator between the two is that Western media hates sexy females.

This skin came out 2 years ago, took everyone a while to notice
Doesn’t matter. It’s one sign of a very present and ongoing process where they are deleting the actual female form and replacing it with “trans woman” in video games.
You want to know the worst part about the design?
The skin is supposed to be for Iana Meijer, a female "operator" a.k.a soldier character that you can play as in Rainbow Six Seige.
Search up her character bio, scroll down, and you'll see what this skin was supposed to look like.
This skin has wider shoulders while wearing a form-fitting dress than a woman in full tactical gear, so whoever the designer altered the model proportions.

Nier Automata: 2B
R6 Siege: Not 2B
Thank goodness I’m playing Stellar Blade. That Nier Automata collab has to be the best thing ever. It’s not just the outfits but also the small Easter Eggs from the Nier Automata.
Once you put 2B’s outfit on Eve it’s like you never left Automata. It’s that accurate
Every time I see this type of thing I'm going to buy another copy of Stellar Blade
@@cleverman383this is a 'message' we can all get behind...
@@blondbraid7986 There are also burly women in swat gear. It is more like they have standart (for balance reasons) hitbox model for female character that includes model of a gear. But instead of dressing 2B in SWAT vest they just inflated model to fit the hitbox.

@@ragetist hahah, nice!

Gotta love the response to this. Apparently, Yoko Taro has commented on Twitter, stating that this _isn't_ 2B, but instead a new YoRHa model "G2".
Got serious when he pulled the tie off.
Oh man, they f*ed up bad.
Thank you for bringing it to attention

A "Cosplayer" skin for Iana, dropped a few years ago, for a game that released in Like 2016, the design is pretty accurate to the og, fitting Iana's waist. Compare 2b and Iana/Eve. not new news in the slightest. Just Steller Blade dropped a sexy one and someone made a mid comparison. (r6s character modeling has been mid for ages. Especially after the hit box balancing that really blockified female ops)

The tie came off oh snap things are getting REAL Ubislop happening
We can conclude this whole video with simple phrase :
Ubisoft, what is that?
Damn i honestly feel sad because we just want games to be games. They don't need to do this
Here is the thing: that skin is better described as a cosplay for the underlying character Iana.
In PUBG there's a collab with nier too (clothes and hairstyles) the Ubisoft 2B reminds me of how it looks in PUBG if you equip the set on a male character XD
Edit: Also, I don't know if it's only in the image, but if the clothes' textures are those it's quite bad too (I mean that the dress has somehow of a velvet texture in the original game) in the collab they did with fall guys the dress had simpler textures but has sense since is a simpler looking game, but in R6 has no sense.
Also quite funny the amount of collabs Nier has done, if I'm not mistaken they did it with: PUBG, Fall Guys, Naraka Blade Point, Final Fantasy, Nikke, Stellar Blade, and R6 (maybe I'm missing some).
no Fortnite collab yet? that's slightly crazy because you know even Fortnite wouldn't fuck it up
Also Granblue Fantasy Versus and Soul Calibur
I think we've all had enough for a whole life.
My boy unbuttoned the jacket and removed the tie like a disappointed father. That's how I know this is serious. Hell, I thought he was about to give me a whooping great video as always.
This skin came out 2 years ago. And yes, it looked bad back then too. And yes, it is still one of the most popular skins in the game because it's 2B.
1:07 I respectfully disagree this is hilarious
Yup, I have no sympathy for anyone that works for a western aaa game company or the studios they own.
i kind of want to buy it just cause of how bad it is.
@@clownavenger0 If you're into shooters the game is Rainbow 6 Siege. Might wanna look up its gameplay before buying in case you don't like it.
There are few technical explanations for this:
@@Furebel its a so-so depiction. not great but its not like anyone's house got burned down
Not saying your explanation was bad (i actually completely agree with it), but this reminds me of when people were justifying Dragon Age Veilguard for having extremely flat chests and butt sliders in the character customization menu because of "possible clipping issues".
