That you very much. Followed you, step by step, with a CN Jeep. Nearly identical. Everything was already pretty clean. Don't think the previous owner used it much. Has a clicking sound, like one wheel is hitting the ties. But I couldn't see anything worn or broken inside and it still makes the same noise. What you get for buying second hand.

Hi, Thank you for the kind words. With regards to your Bachmann, if you are encountering a clicking noise, and you don't see anything broken , then it is more than likely that you have a cracked gear wheel . There could be a hairline crack on the final gearwheel which is a press fit on each of the axels. Why don't you take a close look at the axel gearwheel through a magnifying glass to see if you can spot a hairline crack . also , a clear tell tale sign is that the gear wheel will spin freely on the axel. If you want any assistance , just shoot me a message at anthonyshobbycorner@gmail.com and i will share my contact info , so that we can trouble shoot this over the phone if you are so inclined. Regards, - Anthony -

Just for reference , If you check my video at minutes 41:05 , that is the gear wheel that I am referring to , which could have a crack in it . - Regards, - Anthony.

Thank you for showing how to take the plastic covers off the wheel trucks to get to the gears!!! The Bachman video does not show the detail you do when you perform this basic procedure, I need to see the basics, thank you!!

I liked those motors, because they were a step above the old Tyco Power Torque motors, in that all the gears are enclosed, unlike the power torque with the spindle gear flying off into the floor or off the layout.

Hi Michael , I can totally relate to your observation about the spindle gear flying off the Power Torque's .. lol .

Thanks Darshan .When ever I service a different type of loco, i figured it would be worthwhile capturing it on video , to help those who need a bit of guidance to start servicing their own locos ...
      Thanks for the comments .
      Regards, - Anthony . .

Hello! Question? Why did you not use any grease on gears? Comment: You used Q-tips that kept leaving residue on everything; There are wonderful cotton swabs available on ebay that come with a longer wooden shaft and a head that is made for cleaning guns and other different shaped areas, and there are thin, thick, pointed, and other different shaped heads which are much better then the swabs you used. The cotton you used was very noticeable on camera leaving cotton strings numerous times! Your video was exactly right for me! Ted

Fantastic video! You have taken lots of pain to do this video. Appreciate it. By the way instead of the lubricants and contact cleaners you mentioned, would you able to suggest some alternatives that we can use for this purpose if we cannot source what you used?

Hi Anthony you mentioned cracked gears. Where is the best place for replacement plastic gears for the Ringfield motor?
