Thankyou to everyone who has supported the channel and got it to where it is now… I’m very grateful 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I also Silicon on the profiles of screen I also put some behind bottom of profile and inside profile to the outside leaving inside open 18:36 for drainage
Regards John
👍🏼👍🏼
I'm a carpenter, and the amount of bath panels and shower screens I've fitted because my plumber hates them, looking good 👍.
Thanks pal.. yep I don’t mind chucking the chippy a few quid to do the panel
Watching that, there’s a lot of things I do differently, I don’t use those plastic through fixings to fix the cistern on the toilet I bin them and use the metal ones with the proper bolts either side of the cistern, I use plumbers mate on the top side of the basin waste and silicon underneath like you, I also put plumbers mate around the top of the pedestal, it stops the basin chipping the pedestal when you place it on, we all do things slightly differently if it works for you though👍🏻
Indeed mate…. So many different ways to get the end result…👍🏼👍🏼
I agree about the bolts , but put plumber's mate top and bottom.
@@MJTiffPlumbing What is the drill bits called on eBay I hate drilling into tiles thanks
Another great job Mark, looks so neat and tidy, keep the good work coming 👍
Thanks Keith 👍🏼👍🏼
bath panel plus 20mm if been tiled usually works for me
Lovely neat job again Mark
Thanks mate…. Big difference for what is a fairly basic suit install
Really enjoyed this series mate! Thank you.
Thanks buddy… glad you liked it
Fantastic job Mark. Thanks for the insight take care mate
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Good Job Mark,
Great watching the miniseries,
Still always great to wrap up a job,
Looking forward to the next one,
👍👍🤜
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Well done! Great video, Mark. Another very well explained job.
Thanks buddy
Fantastic effort Mark looks awesome 👏👏👏👍
Thanks 👍
Hi Mark. The bathroom looks great as always. Always the extra mile you go. Have a good week buddy. 👍
Thanks mate…👍🏼👍🏼
When it comes across your work looks easy this is when you know your a master to your trade!
Thankyou mate 🙌🏼🙏🏼
Well done mark looks great love the videos 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks buddy
looks lovely mark cracking job as always 👊
Good going Mark 👍🏻 when you opened your van door and stuff fell out just reminds me of my everyday life 😂😂
🤣🤣….. typical Fridays
Nice job mate. I do like the unilite body warmer. 👍👍
Proper body warmer mate….. very cosy
Great stuff mate
Thanks pal 👍🏼👍🏼
Blinding idea Mark !!! bloody hate doing them bog floor brackets cheers mate.
A lot more secure buddy 👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I've just finished binge watching all 4 parts now. The bathroom is looking great, keep up the good work. A testing one but a great job 😎
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed it
Top work bud as always started doing what you do with the toilet Fisher fixings very affective 😎👍😎👍😎👍😎👍
Cheers buddy……. 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video my brother
Thanks mate
Well done mate 🎯
Thanks mate
Another great video Mark I’ve watched the whole series and the time you put in to explain your way has been excellent even when your under the kosh you still find time for your viewers. So many useful tips your trade secrets. Bath panels must be the pain of every plumber. When anyone asks me to change bath taps the first question I ask is can the panel be removed easily. Nice series Thankyou.
Looking good
Thanks 👍
Nice job Mark mate.
Thanks pal
@M J Tiff Plumbing 12 n half quid them silicone smoother tools are now that you use! Inflation has gone crazy on everything I remember them being about £6.
Nice work as always mate 👍
Thanks 👍
Hey guys M J Tiff good video 👍
Thanks pal👍🏼
Lovely job again. I do like a pedestal in a small bathroom: it makes it feel more spacious. Admittedly you lose the storage of a vanity but they always just end up full of random crap anyway so it makes no odds.
Thanks buddy
Great result ! You'd never know the extent of the work you had to put in to sort all those pipes out. Nice one 👍
Thanks Kev….. yep that’s the thing, our work always gets covered up🫣
Nice job mark I rate your tiler only thing I do differently is use plumbers mate on top of ped and bed waste and taps with it it works a treat but we all have our set ways none more right than others
Yep I hear ya, we all do bits different 👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼
Gotta love a plastic bath panel 😂 I bought aome of those bits of eBay and I’m still using the first one, probably done near on 20 holes already! Good call ! Cheers for the vids !
It’s all about the £6 drill bits 😉😉👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing can you recommend any cheap drill bits to cut a 20mm hole ??
V good 👍👍👍
Those drill bits are. Brilliant. Gave a set to my son's father in law who lives in Gibraltar. He thinks they're brilliant too. Cheers Mate👍🏻
Hi Mark, watched the vids on this bathroom fit, certainly better than the shite on to, first thing, such a nice fit, I usually have any copper popping out of tiles in chrome copper, but that’s just an extra, second, I’ve been refurbishing my own houses for 20 years, and never had to price up a job, then moved into gas a few years ago, any secret to pricing a job, ie, cost of insurance, van , calibrations, unforeseen etc, I’m sure I’m not the only one struggling with this, help from an old sweat very welcome, cheers mate👍
With you all the way with silicon Mark, screen profile and basin waste. I do use the washer underneath the basin tho, it just feels like its holding the silicone in. Sounds daft but it's my way
Yep we all do stuff our own way and the way we trust 👍🏼👍🏼…..
9:41 I got a Marxman chalk marker recently for jobs like that, makes life so much easier. Wish I'd got one sooner
👍🏼👍🏼
I rate the Thomas Dudley washer kits for fitting wastes. I fitted a McAlpine Centre pin waste yesterday was quite impressed with it they come in 2 parts with the seals you need.
Just pop a backflow preventer on that shower hose to cover yourself if they want it to reach down to the bath. 👍 (Guess who's swotting up for their water regs 😂)
I’m a silicone lover for the wastes😉👌🏼
B.e.a.utiful bathroom
Thanks mate
I like to flood the holes in the wall for the shower screen wall profile with silicone. in fact any screw holes within the shower area such as those for the riser,
👍🏼👍🏼
Love watching your videos but can you explain to me what regulates the shower temperature I'm assuming it's a combi in that property how do you regulate the temperature when the shower is new.
I don’t use standard Iso valves in conjunction with flexis. The sharp end can cut into the rubber seal of the flexi. They’re fine initially but cut into the rubber over time.
Ideally should be using flat top iso valves or else a 1/2” MI on top a standard iso valve to connect a flexi on.
Having said that, I’ve taken to using a standard iso with a rad tail in the end so that a flat face is presented to the rubber seal of the flexi.
It’s not a problem using standard valves…. Not had an issue in 30years mate👍🏼👍🏼… just don’t overtighten them😉
That’s fine mate if you’re happy using them like that. 👍
Lovely old job.....though wouldn’t have chose those floor tiles
Customer is always right…. That’s what they wanted👍🏼
Looks good that Mark, not sure about that cupboard they want in there though 👍
Going to be a walk in airing cupboard…. All shelved out and heated….
I usually put small circles of silicone around the fixing holes on those vertical tracks just to ensure no water gets through there and obviously only seal the outside edge. I've been to so many jobs where they've been sealed all around and they just eventually fill up with mostly condensate water and cause all sorts of issues. I believe most manufacturers recommend no seal inside so that any internal moisture can drain to the bath side? Good job buddy....
Yep never ever seal inside…. Voids any warrenty
Best drill bits I’ve ever bought . Just be mindful if drilling in between a grout line . They don’t like it , and the end of the bit can snap off very easily
Yep, care needs to be taken
Great video on bathrooms, can you do a video on the process of the actual design of the bathroom, like what’s involved and how….
Yer I will buddy
Looks good mate.
Don't blame you mate I hate Bath panels.
Yep Dave the chippy has sorted it
Looks fantastic Mark. Well done! I see Ken Bruce leaves on Friday. I need to get a DAB radio now as we can’t get it on FM where I am 😢
Gutted Ken is going…. I will be heading over with him I think👌🏼👌🏼
Great video Mark. Re drill bits, have you tried the Bosch multi construction blue ones - CYL9 I think they call them. I recently had to drill through tiles to fit 160 soap dispensers (don't ask) Did the lot with 2 x 6mm bits👍👍
Sounds like a great bit👍🏼👌🏼
Hi Mark,
Great series and the bathroom is looking fantastic now.
It’s hard to believe all the problems you encountered, the tiling sets it all off a treat.
Well done another triumph, I look forward to the radiator/ central heating job.
Have a great week, take care, regards, Chris. 👍👍👍
Thanks Chris….. that’s coming Wednesday if I get it edited up in time😉👍🏼
I always try to use white pipe for the toilet waste because I think grey or any other colour looks crap.
👍🏼👍🏼
I would silicon before I fitted taps and screen, and always fill bath with water first !!
Watch Part 3 of the renovation and you will see if you fit your bath correctly you don’t need to fill with water 👍🏼👍🏼
BATHROOM RENOVATION PROBLEM | Can it be fixed in time? | PART 3
ruclips.net/video/_BjvVPV5VDg/видео.html
Yes I do the same but as you know customer always knows best and supply cheep 3mm bathe with no shower support at bottom so always fill up to take some flex out and extra support at tap end,
Not a criticism just what I do,
I do mainly full bathrooms installation ,start to finish inc plaster and tile but hi end £15000. Plus
👍🏼👍🏼….. gotta love a nice high end install….. got a good one coming soon😉
On the Toilet did you use a flexible or straight pan connector?I find on some toilets ,it's difficult to get the pan over L/Shape pan fixing if you use a straight one.
Yep that can be an issue, on this is was a flexi due to the reason
Hi mate do you know what make those flush valves are? I need a seal washer for one of my toilets. Or even a direct flush valve swap.nice work 😊
I don’t to be fair…
I would have liked to see the siliconing. Did you profile fit behind the bath mixer tap. What do you do when they don't.
Yep fitted fine…. If not I have a long edging tool
@MJTiffPlumbing link please 🙏
I’ve enjoyed this series. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit and upload etc. I do the same with the bath panel channels - silicone to wall as well as screw. I also like your approach with regard to getting a carpenter to deal with the bath panel. They really are a nightmare. Even on challenging bath tap changes, the worst part of the job can be the removal and putting back of the panel 😂. Good job, Marcus. 👍🏻
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Have you tried the basin mate seals you can buy. I think they are the bees knees. Suppose silicone alot cheaper but like to try different things see how they fair
A few people have mentioned them, need to try them
Well the real reason i use them is one for less mess and 2 because i know il be back to change the clicker waste in a few years time anyway 🤣🤣
👍
👍🏼👍🏼
Do you ever use tap tail adaptors , to go into the isolation valve giving you a flat surface to connect the flex with the rubber seal in , so the rubber seal seals over it’s surface area and not just on the edge of the isolation valve
If that makes sense lol
Or do you flat faced isolating valves which I’ve only just found out exist lol
I’ve never had an issue going into a normal iso valve…. Trick is to not tighten it to much👍🏼
With u on the bath panel hate them pea shaped bath panel a nightmare
Worth chucking the chippy a few quid to sort it
Enjoy your video but the one thing what I really struggle with is fitting bath panels. Trying to judge the plywood base then adhesive and tiles for floor. And for length, if you want to put tiles beyond bath panels. Cutting plastic panels and still making them sturdy. So I understand why.
Bath panels are my let hate…. Would rather chuck Dave the chippy a few quid to do it😉👌🏼
Looking good mate, been following since the beginning, just a quick question, how long did it take you to finish that in the end??
Thanks mate…. In total this was a 2 week turnaround 👍🏼👍🏼
come on mark its not the basins getting heavier were getting older 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Oh Mick….. you know that mate🤣🤣🫣🫣
Did you use brass screws to screw the flush box back to the wall of theses cheap ones that rust in about 3 years
Nickel coated ones that don’t rust in 3 years time😉
Keren Kakak 👍😃😀
Thanks pal
Hi mate great videos, new to the channel!
I don’t suppose you have any advice for water hammer do you? I tried to fix by draining and removing the air pockets but seems to have built up again… thanks!
Thanks mate welcome aboard.
Try a shock arestor on the main👍🏼👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing perfect thanks I’ll give it a go!
👍🏼👍🏼
Do you not have to put NR valves on the cold anymore where there is a possibility of the shower head going into the bath?
Built into the taps on this one👍🏼
Have you done a video about siliconing behind taps. Bigger pain in the arse than bath panels to me
Longer tips mate…😉😉
I should do a video
How high from the floor do you put your waste pipes and hot and colds
The height I’ve put them mate…….. why would you NOT put them that high…🙄
Putting them lower and leaving so much pipe on show…. No thanks😉👍🏼
What is the gadget you use to turn rad valves off with
It’s called a “Plumb Chum” buddy… take a look on Google
What brand was the sink and loo? Thanks Mark.
Think it was from the Frontline range…👍🏼👍🏼
Using metal/brass washers for L brackets are just as good
Still have 1 point of tightening that can move… won’t move with 2 screw in it..
But each to there own 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing Going forward I’m going to do your method 🫡👍
Stumbled upon your channel. You work hard and take pride in your work. Plumbers have saved more lives than doctors, respect to you and your trade. Real world BOSS!
Kind words mate, Thankyou….
Hope you get subscribed to the channel.. and welcome aboard👍🏼👍🏼
Not meaning to sound like a DHC but genuinely curious why you go silicone over plumbers mait?
Not a DHC at all buddy.
I just prefer silicone to be honest👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Did you silicone the bath three quarters full of water or not
Nope…. As I fitted it properly, take a look on Part 3 of this series and you will see if you fit a bath and baton the edges you don’t need to fill it for siliconing as it won’t move a mm
Mark how's it masticing behind those taps
Easy buddy…. It’s all about getting that nozzle in at the angle
Always fit bath
Let the tiler in mastic bath then fit taps
Everyone has thier ways
Brass or stainless steel screws should be used to secure the cistern!
🤣
do you need check valves on the bath taps because the shower could end up in the dirty bath water?
Internal dcv going into the taps👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing sorry I was not questioning if you done it or not. I was interested as to if it was needed or not and I never knew that some of these taps had built in check valves
I didn’t think you was buddy ….👍🏼👍🏼 no worries.
Alot of these style ones do….. 👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing Good good buddy, my only gripe with your videos has been the Grohe shower you installed in the barn conversion (was it the bathroom with the copper bath in it) and that was only because I had the same shower to install in our en-suite and got worried when you never posted to much info on it thinking it was going to be a nightmare but it was fine.
ahh im not a plumber but im learning thanks to yourself and Plumb Like Tom which are my go to plumbing channels so keep up the good work buddy and thanks for sharing you knowledge
Yer Toms channel is great…. He’s a good lad.
Yer that grohe shower with the ibox was straight forward enough to be fair from memory
🤘😎🤘
Evening buddy
@@MJTiffPlumbing Evening Bud 👍🤓👍
Little tip, to save the L brackets for the bog. 3x2 treated timber cut to size under the pan.
I just find it easier and faster mate
Great vid as always pal
👍🏼👍🏼
👍👍
Funny as a plumber you seal the bottom of the sink drain, the water is not supposed to leak from there it should be draining down the inside so only need to seal the top😳
Not when it’s a slotted waste with an overflow on the basin mate…… you will get very very wet if you don’t seal the bottom buddy🤣😉…..
Could you not have had the floor tiled first before fitting the bath? That way, you would have known what height the bath needs to be to fit the bath panal.
Not the done thing mate, as the tiler would have to come back to tile above the bath and that’s makes no sense…
Just trim it slightly and fit it…. No problem for the chippy
Shame you didn't get a fully enclosed back to wall pan to hide soil pipe etc
It’s what the customer ordered….. that’s what they wanted👍🏼
I bin those plastic cistern bolts and fit stainless. Overkill perhaps but it always feels like a better, tighter job. You're the one I curse when I go to replace wastes and find them stuck with silicone: there's a special place in hell for you my man :-)
Hahaha…… spray with CT1 spray and it comes off easy😉
@@MJTiffPlumbing I only fit Vado wastes now. Pricey but genius.
I’ve heard they are good
I would have fitted straps of wood for the bath legs so as the straps run over the joists below the floor boards so it's the joists taken the weight of the bath, not the floor boards. Also, it's not a good idea to connect the flexi hoses from the basin taps directly onto the 15mm ball valves as the shape of the valve cuts into the rubber washer and ends up leaking after a year or two, best to fit 15mm male boilers.
Did you watch the video🤣🤣..I fitted straps of wood under the bath legs….. as I made a point of mentioning in the video and as I have done for 25+ years.
As for the flexis onto the iso, never had an issue…. It’s only a problem when you overtighten them which is what a lot of people do…
Just to add, it's never a great idea to use plastic nuts for tightening any tap up as the nut will crack or come loose over time, best using the brass nuts I find anyway.
🤣🤣…… again….. if you overtighten them they will snap, sounds like you’ve been overtighten alot if fittings….
Not had an issue with them when fitted correctly😉
@M J Tiff Plumbing Not at all mate, it's me being called out to jobs that plumbers have fitted plastic nuts to tighten taps to baths and basins with, in some cases yip been over tightened but lot of the time it's the heat from the hot pipe that expands and contracts it. Just my preference to use brass nuts would use metal over plastic any day of the week for that job 👍
Wouldn't even risk drilling through the underfloor heating, why not just silicone the toilet down?
Because when fitting the UFH it wasn’t put under where the toilet was going😉…. It all about proper planning to get a proper job done.
that tape what an idea lol ,them bits are probably from china as well just repacked and price hiked..
Yes they are…..
Drill bits out of stock already 😤 😆
Always the way when I mention them
@@MJTiffPlumbing I've saved the link. Defo gonna pick some up! You're an influencer!! Lol
Hope that underfloor heating Matt wasn’t under that toilet with them screws going in 😰
No mate….. this isn’t my first rodeo😉
Tiles can’t be porcelain tiff??
The floor ones are buddy
@@MJTiffPlumbing fair play pal I will have a look for them.
Great video as always buddy. !!
Cheers pal 👍🏼👍🏼
naughty boy mark....flexi on to a 15 mm compression fitting lol
Never ever had a problem with it….. if you overtighten them that’s when it will be a problem….
Always use a male iron to copper connection has a flat spot for the rubber to sit on
I have yet to come across a flexi that has failed because it’s fitted to an isolation valve it has almost always been due to the pipe being twisted too tightly back on itself splitting the braided steel and rupturing the rubber pipe.
You'll only have problems if a gorilla over tightens it.
Such a shame the customer decided on a poor shower option after all that work!
We had the conversation and that’s what they wanted…. I agree with you though, would of been a better choice
When you fit the pan brackets to the floor and find out later that someone fitted heated elements under where the pan is…… Are yer feeling lucky???
Hahah…. It’s not my first rodeo….. the mat was installed knowing where the pan was going😉
Them plastic nuts are garbage if you over tighten the nut it can split the nut or they are loose on the threads
Don’t overtighten them 👍🏼
I used the sling them and use brass lock nuts miles better I’m glad I’m retired now
Tile bits out of stock 🤦🏻♂️
Seems a shame to do a shower off taps. Thermo bars are simple and cheap
Yep but the customer wanted it this way
I hate fitting Bath panels
🫣
The big question is....have they paid?
These are a very long standing customer, maybe 15 plus years…. Not an issue
