    One more quick tip, if your vent goes straight up through the plate line, it's a good idea to offset the vanity vent so there is no conflict with the electrician's light box.

    • @vanhattfield8292
      @vanhattfield8292 2 года назад +5

      Typically the entire drain, including the vent, is going to be offset a few inches from the centerline of the sink to allow the required p-trap to be installed under the sink during the finish. If the centerline of the sink is used as the location where the waste line is accessed, it leaves very little room to install the trap and is going to make for a messy looking finish.

    Great video,im a plumber from Baltimore, it has been rare to say the least in all the complete trash I've found on RUclips that your video was so spot on. There are more ways to do the same rough-in and if you introduce flood level rim at it's height of 42" or optional 6" above the fixture being served it would round out a very well explained video. Nicely done

    • @vinnygoombatts1458
      @vinnygoombatts1458 5 лет назад +1

      @@TeamKevin31 easy, you don't have to tie in with so many lateral lines. Fewer fittings and pipe. One 3 or even a 2 inch vent pipe off the back of the toilet vents the whole room. It's in the SE plumbing code.

    • @RubbinRobbin
      @RubbinRobbin 5 лет назад

      Is there a diagram that shows this? The issue is a vent needs to be placed above the fixtures traps normally above a sanTee so they have to be tied in to the main vent somehow.

    • @vinnygoombatts1458
      @vinnygoombatts1458 5 лет назад

      @@RubbinRobbin yes there is a diagram, but I don't know how to load it for this reply. Normally you are correct, the old code for the SE is the same as this video shows. But if you can imagine a 3 inch pipe going straight up from the toilet in the wall instead of 2 or 1 1/2. No lateral tie ins required. Also the sink goes straight in to the 3 inch above the floor about 18 inches.

    • @TRUE_GR1T

      you can wet vent an entire bathroom through an 1 1/2" vent off the lav. 3x2 y ->2x1/12 Y. 3" run picks up toilet, 2" run picks up lav and 1 1/2 branch picks up tub/shower.

    Most states allow wet venting systems witch means a full bathroom will only have one 2 inch vent plumbed to the roof. The venting in this video is called individual venting it uses much more pipe then wet venting and with wet wanting every time you use your sink your washing out the vent.

    I have been a master plumber for 35 years now. A plumbing system needs a 3" vent by code whether it's one toilet or several toilets. We size the vents by fixture units. Never use an 1.5 vent for toilet or drain. I recommend u guys use UPC instead

    Clear and complete. Thank you.
    Although, I thought that venting had to connect downstream of source?

    I’ve been watching you for what seems a couple years.
    I remember when you started making these video series to put out there.
    It’s great to see that you finished them.
    Great info for plumbing.
    Main thing is...you created it...you did it Bro!
    I would love to chat with you about your system, how the subscriptions are going, etc. I recognize I no one to you though.

    Thanks for the great video. Question: What if I were to build two bathrooms back to back, with each bathrooms toilet and sink separated by the same wall -- can I tie in each sink and toilet into the same pipes? Or do I have to build an extra thick wall, each containing exact replicas of the piping? Hopefully that makes sense.

    Wish I could afford your blueprints. Trying to plumb my shed to tiny house conversion is challenging and I have zero experience. Can’t afford a plumber so I’m forced to do it myself. I won’t have a flush toilet because I can’t afford a code-complying septic. But I’m installing two IBC totes as a grease trap for the grey water from the kitchen sink, lav, shower and dishwasher.
    I buy more parts every month as I can afford. Clearly, it was a mistake in judgment on my part, not anticipating the costs before doing this. Oh well, making the best of it. Thanks for these videos.

    Thanks for making these awesome videos and providing great content for everyone! This is great for the motivated DIY who wants to do things right.
    I'm doing a bathroom remodel in the near future and the new layout will be identical to bathroom #3. The only problem is that it's on a concrete slab and I can't figure out where to put the cleanout. Can I extend the 3" pipe backwards (against the flow of water) to the nearest stud bay and have a cleanout inside the wall behind an access panel? I want to do this right with a permit, and screwing up the cleanout will probably fail my inspection.

      As a plumber apprentice, his videos help me a lot too! I don't have the best teachers so I have to figure a lot out on my own.

    How do I give a slope to a horizontal pipe coming out of a 90 degree elbow fitting from a vertical pipe ? Aren’t the fittings supposed to make the vertical and horizontal pipes perfect 90 degrees?

      @@bp4170 Nobody in the plumbing trade is going to lose there job because of this video, it was just a joke dummy.They have more work then they know what to deal with, and not like most jobs they are bullet proof on job security ,and don't have to worry about amazon.It is nice that DIY's can do alot of plumbing jobs themselves because of these videos . Plummers must think they are doctors the prices they charge! I installed my own tankless water heater and replummed most my house thanks to these videos and saves thousands of dollars!
